I called and scheduled an appt. Linh, owner, was very helpful and scheduled me with her sister Cindy. I haven't had nails for about 20 years, and Cindy graciously and thoroughly explained gel and gel dips, versus the acrylic way for long nails that I remember. Cindy asked what I wanted and had tons of colors for me to choose from. I chose pink and I keep my nails short due to work & the need to be on a computer. For short nails she recommended the gel dip and glued on a couple tips so my nails would be the same length. My nails break, split, bend, etc, so the tips would also help protect my nails as they grow in. My appt took about an hour. Lots of regulars came in, everyone was friendly and chatted, and we watched AGT on YouTube TV (lots of golden buzzers). Time passed quickly, Cindy explained everything she was doing and said to come back in 3 - 4 weeks depending on how fast my nails grow. I went for a regular manicure. I had a touch of clear, non-gel polish on my nails. Tech immediately reached for dremel tool. Why? To take off a tiny bit of clear nail polish? That's like using a chainsaw on a baked ham. She started in with it and I asked her not to use it. Then she was very rough throughout. When cutting my cuticles at any moment I thought she would draw blood. You know that experience. My nails are strong and healthy. But she treated them like they had been gel polished - aggressive filing of the entire surface of the nail. My nails split and cracked and the polish chipped within 10 hours of my appointment. It took 3 weeks to get them back into shape. I do not think she was a regular staff member, as she appeared to be asking the manager about things like pricing. I will not go back. read more

Traveling for a wedding and needed to get acrylic fill and gel polish change so after looking quite a bit i decided to try out So Lovely. They did a solid job and the price was incredibly reasonable! I did have to wait a while to see the other person partway through as i did cat eye polish and the person that did the rest did not know how to do it. I won't ding them on that though, that's something that i would just be aware of if i lived nearby and went more regularly. Definitely recommend, good value for your money! read more

What a lovely salon. The owners are so sweet and talk with you as much as you prefer. They also make an effort to introduce themselves. I needed a last minute mani/pedi before a trip and I knew my normal place would be packed. Turns out that So Lovely has online reservations which made me feel comfortable knowing I would be able to go in and they'd have space for me. The service was great, they gave me a few helpful tips, and I was in/out in what seemed like no time. They also have a frequent customer card that if you pay in cash for 10 services, you get a free $30 service the next visit. Everyone that works here is so friendly and nice, it is very clean (they take great care to sanitize between customers), and this is unquestionably the best manicure I've ever gotten in the Rochester area.
