I passed by Soapy Joes in San Marcos yesterday on my way to work and I found the staff super helpful and attentive. Sebastian walked me through getting a membership and after washing my car, I noticed the microfibers being stocked up. It's always a pretty busy spot on the early afternoon but it is usually a pretty quick experience. Very poor customer service. They closed the San Marcos location with no warning. If I had known they would be closed for an undetermined time I would have waited to redeem my card from Costco. They also refuse to show me any video footage when my car was damaged by their location. The most horrible metal on metal sound and deep scratches on the side of my car. EDIT: this place is a family-owned person. I just thought because of the multiple locations in San Diego! Love this place! I'm not a huge franchise/chain person BUT you can't beat their customer service or price. You get unlimited (meaning I've washed more than once in a day) for a monthly rate. I do the cheapest but the other ones are totally worth it. It all depends on how you drive. I don't drive much and park in a garage. You have everything you need for making your car look clean. They provide towels and vacuum. If it's busy, you may have to wait (the most I've waited was like 5 mins) for the vacuum but totally worth it. You can also use your membership for all locations. Soapy Joe's Fallbrook has wonderful staff, I'd give them 4 stars. Problem is their Corporate Office. On 4/27 several customers including me ended up with scratches on our tires, all in the same place. The staff said they thought it was fixed, and immediately had all cars back out of the car wash and give us an incident report form to fill out. They took pictures, so did we, and said corporate will reach out in a few days. They did acknowledge receiving the incident report, but then denied the claim. I was told that the machine had been fixed and that no other claim was put in for that location, date and time. This in itself is a lie, because it was at least three of us who filled out the form and had staff take pics at that time. Corporate responded to that by saying I have to go through my insurance. This would cost me a $1000 deductible. Looks like I have to locate the other people from that day and go to through small claims. Shameful attitude by the Corporate office. read more

We got the monthly membership here, kind of expensive for a place ware you have to wash & vacuum your own car... however we got very disappointed last time the automatic washer machine broke our left side mirror and as we show the manager on site the first told us they'll see what they can do but then they just email blaming us and saying they will not take care of it! Is a very poor relation manager They could care less about the disabled people who need to use the one and only disabled parking spot They allow people who don't display their disabled placard to us it and get upset and refuse to ask them to not park there and move. I think Soapy Joes upper management should be held liable for not having enough disabled parking places and caring about customer service over profit. If you complain about anything like their faulty equipment or the parking issue for the disabled they will cancel your membmembership without cause. My car was not clean at all after going through and the parking spots to vacuum were so tight the people next to me kept bumping their doors in my car. This is by far the worst location there is. By far the worst car wash in county. It is sad to see soapy joes open up all these new locations but they can't maintain the ones they had. We opt to drive 15 extra minutes to the vista location because the time you save using the vacuums. The vacuums at this location don't work at all. You will have better luck picking each sand grain out by hand than you using their pathetic excuse of vacuums. The fact that they collect money from people with not ever having operable vacuums really should be investigated by the BBB. Even though they were raised prices all the time, at least the service was good and the place is well lit and safe enough for a female to go there by herself at night. Also I like how they support the Aztecs and gave out coupons to show support! I still come here for my car wash needs. There's still room for improvement for sure, e.g. drier towels, traffic jam in front of car wash, overcrowding, etc. You really need to pick your time to come here. I LOVE this car wash!! The employees are usually in their teens / young 20's which I love to see in such a college filled area. The rags are constantly replaced which is my favorite thing ever.
