LivingSocial led us to this mini-adventure on Monument Island. The Great White catamaran took us out on a tour of my future neighborhood of Star Island prior to our final destination. On the sandbar/island itself, we played with their equipment (insert immature giggle here). I fell on the paddle board twice in my 15mins of possession. Apparently, I have no balance when I'm on two feet. BUT. I am a damn pro when I'm sitting on my butt in a kayak. There were snorkels available too, which we opted out on. For an extra charge, a two man mini boat was available. They limited time of possession on that bad boy. We spent about two hours in the water, which is plenty of time for me. They also provided snacks. From the moment we got on, we were greeted with grapes & madeleines. Once we anchored down, they put out some other snacks including veggies, hummus, pita chips, cheese, & crackers. Included with the groupon were the unlimited drinks. They offered bottled water, soda, wines, & beers. I was throughly pleased with the experience on the Great White. It's definitely worth the groupon if you happen to come across it. read more

Arrived at location prior to 8:45pm boarding time. Saw a small group assembled and inquired if they are going on groove cruise. There was no representative or sign indicating groove cruise. No sign of boat at 9pm. Another person contacted them then advised we will leave at 9:15pm. We departed around 9:40pm. Hors d'oeuvres were stale and not appetizing. Drinks were satisfactory. Music was off and on and terrible. Please invest in a good music system and a microphone for the guide. Can't say it was that great but cannot recommend. read more

I had a girls trip to miami recently for a spring break getaway. First time any of us had ever been to miami and this was the highlight of our trip! Highly recommend the sunset cruise so you can still enjoy the weather and some daylight. It was so much fun the boat is huge and so nice, staff was very professional and helpful. We were referred by the concierge at the Viceroy Hotel, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. These guys were easy to communicate back and forth with by text message. When we were looking for the address / directions, as we were taking a cab, the guys called and offered to speak with the cab driver directly, which we appreciated. They're actually quite easy to find on Brickell Key, by the well known Rusty Pellican. We enjoyed a great tour over an hour-plus, and enjoyed excellent instruction as to how to operate the jet ski. Cruised with several friends on June 11, 2015. Wonderful sunset cruise with experienced, caring crew on clean comfortable catamaran ! Narrated tour of the mansions, great telephone service to discuss access and seating for disabled person (thank you, David!), nice spread of several cheeses, cold crisp grapes, veggies, pita chips, hummus, all kinds of ice cold beverages. My husband and I took the Sunset Cruise on Sunday 3/3. We were suppose to be on the Great White boat but were moved to the Mariah due to a 'private' party. The Mariah is not nearly as nice so that was disappointment number one. Second - we were supposed to take off at 5:45 but there was a group of people (celebrating a birthday) who were over a half hour late. Thus we took the cruise in the dark and could hardly see the 'million $ homes'. Beautiful evening skyline but seriously - make everyone cruise in the dark!! Lastly the drinks and appetizers were directly from Kirkland - mind you I don't mind Costco food but you would think that they could make this a little bit more special. read more

We booked the sunset cruise but what it really was a booze cruise on a catamaran. They left the dock 30 minutes late and stayed out over an hour longer than they were supposed to. I had dinner reservations that I had to move once and then eventually cancel because they didn't make it back even at the later time they promised. The "cruise" itself was fine and the first mate and bartender were nice, but they had no awareness or consideration for time. My girls and I did the Groupon Sunset Tour for my bachelorette getaway last weekend. Let me say, of the 4 days we were there, this was one of the top events/experiences of the entire trip! At first, we were skeptical about the boat itself, but once we got seated and started moving, I fell in love with the view, and the water, and the people on the boat were so friendly! How can you say no to unlimited beer and wine?! On the boat were mates James, Ferris, along with the captain and Dorie Ann who was our bartender. They were so sweet and friendly and made our cruise worth every second! The tour lasted about 2.5-3 hours and we got to see the sunset which was breathtaking. We also learned about some of the humongous mansions on Star Island - so informative and cool! I would highly recommend them to anyone who wants to do a nice sunset tour in Miami! I bought a groupon for the sunset cruise in February, to use on a visit to Miami. The weather ended up being too cold, so we gave the groupon to family that live in Miami. They just went last night and wrote me first thing this morning to rave about how much they enjoyed it. "It was really beautiful. We sat up front around and in the webbing over the water between the boat points. The water was choppy, but the boat is very stable. A romantic atmosphere as the sun set in the 2nd half of the ride. Miami downtown is very lit up and colorful at night. We had a small tour of the millionaire's homes and some history toward the end of the trip. There was wine, beer, sodas, snacks." read more

The day started out great, we anchored and enjoyed the sandbar. The main reason I wanted to go was to use the jet skis which we paid extra just to wait forever to even have a 5 min ride. We never ended up getting that chance because it started to rain and thunder. We headed back after only about an hour out on the water. There was FAR too many people on the trip because we got drenched on our way back (it looked like they were just trying to cram as much people and money into one day)! They promised that the owner would do "something" for us since our day was ruined. It has been several months now and have not even gotten a response after several calls and emails! After countless attempts at making a reservation, we were able to work out a day that my girlfriend and I could fit into our busy schedules. On the night of the cruise we were left with nothing but disappointment... The boat didn't show up at the time we were told, but better yet there was no communication to let us know that there would be a delay. The sunset cruise was a perfect choice for our company social event. We were a group of roughly 35 people which was the perfect size for the "Great White". Coordinating the event with John was a seamless experience. He was very accommodating and easy to work with. Furthermore, we requested a "Mediterranean buffet" and the restaurant he ordered from was fantastic! He handled all logistics and the food/drink was all set up upon arrival. Aboard the boat, the staff were extremely hospitable and responsive to requests. The actual cruise was fantastic - spanning Biscayne Bay with incredible views of the Miami skyline, multi-million dollar homes and other notable attractions. After we got back to the marina, I took a survey of the group, and the unanimous consensus was the experience was "perfect". if i could give zero stars i would! cancelled our excursion at 8pm the night before did not give 20-24 hours notice! i was planning to go with friends for my birthday and he called and cancelled with them but not me (my friends had to tell me that he cancelled and i called him) due to "maybe being late for our excursion"!!! i think he overbooked and last minute had to remove some people! was told i would get a refund and never did had to file a claim with my bank! do not book! take your money elsewhere!!! update: leave a negative and truthful review and you will receive an angry phone call from john accusing you of lying! john, learn from your reviews and do better. do not get mad and call clients about their truthful reviews! he certainly leaves a bitter taste in your mouth. once again, do not book! read more

WARNING!! this company allows overbooking of their cruises. so even if you have a confirmation number you can end up standing on the dock while the boat takes off. This happened to me and two friends. Also the departure was delayed for over an hour and we received no notice. We found out when we arrived at the stated time. Purchased a Groupon for the Sunset Cruise. Very easy to book. Received a response back in less than 24 hours with instructions on how to book with a voucher. Bring $2.50 per person for taxes not covered by Groupon. Very nice cruise, we really enjoyed ourselves. Please note that in correspondence it does say docking is at 6 but it was actually 630pm which they advised us was incorrect and thanked us for making them aware so they could change it (we were there at 545pm and they were wondering why) and we arrived back at 9. Crew was fantastic-friendly and informative. Great selection of beer, red and white wine, soda and water. Snacks were hummus, pita chips, grapes, cheese, triscuts, carrots and celery and they were always replenished. Great narrative tour of Star Island and of the Miami Skyline. Definitely recommend this tour. This is casual dress, no need to dress up. read more

I found a Groupon promising "4 hours of motorized equipment rental" for $100. I sent an email to make sure I understood the deal right and I was told via email that the Groupon allows me to ride a waverunner without having to pay any hidden fees. Upon arriving I realized this was a complete lie. We arrived at the location where we stayed for the entirety of the four hours , and I was told that all the waverunners were unavailable and all they had available was a small plastic dingy with a 25cc engine which I later found out had been throttle down to only allow speeds up to 8-10 knots. Besides the deceit revolving the waverunner the trip was accompanied by an air of melancholy. I realized it wasn't just me having a miserable time. Everyone seemed to be sitting around waiting for those 4 grueling hours grind by. On top of everything, the snorkeling gear was clearly cheap and used up, the food consisted of crackers and cheese with some grapes, and the sandbar we were taking to was riddled with old beer cans and sea urchins.. The only positive comment I could possibly salvage from that "once in a life time experience" is the boats crew. The captain, first-mate, and bartender were helpful and seemed to be working with what they had been given by the owner of the boat. This review is specific to the 2 hour sunset sail. While the sunset sail redeemed itself quite a bit, there are many opportunities to improve the overall customer experience. When we booked the trip, we did it over the phone and almost zero details were provided as to what was required to board and we found that the web site was out dated. The web site stated two hour cruise that included champagne, but it actually turned out to be open bar. When we arrived, they wanted to see a printed ticket (which we did not have) and the lady was not familiar with the way we had paid over the phone. They also asked you to be for the the taxes in cash (luckily we had cash, but no one told us about this beforehand). They told us to be at the dock by 6 pm sharp and that the boat would leave at 6:30 - no excuses. We did not board till 6:30 and were late so we got rained on instead of having missed it by leaving on time. Why tell us to be their early if you are not going to honor it. The lady also did not have a list of people who paid so she had to check every single ticket or receipt (very inefficient and time consuming). We took the great white and had a good time minus the girls who got on late and made a scene the whole time just boozing. The boat also had an issue with the engine and had to stop, but one of the deck hands was fantastic and got us going. I hope my tip went directly to him rather than the rest of the crew. Bottom line - the experience could be improved dramatically, but we managed to have a good time anyway. read more

I've been on this catamaran a few times already. Each time I have some guests coming to Miami we invite them for the sunset cruise and we always have great time. My friends love it! all of them, those with kids and seniors too. It is a great fun and a nice tour to see a bit of Miami, especially during the summer months when the sunset is a bit later. I explained I will be on vacation for a short period of time and need to know ASAP if I have a reservation bc if not I'll have to plan something else. On groupon it doesn't mention taxes but the email from them mention it but not how much just that it has to be cash. It wasn't much just 2.50 a person. Is not dinner so eat before or after ... Learned about the sunset cruise through groupon. Sent an email to book my date and got a response the next day. No issues at all to book a date. Email was clear and informative. Day of the cruise was great. Staff was very informative, polite, and funny. Went on a tour around star island. Music on the catamaran was great. You hang out and the staff comes around refilling your drinks and making sure you have everything you need so it was very relaxing. I enjoyed the excursion very much. I definitely recommend it. I surprised my wife with a sunset cruise for Valentine's Day and all I can say is WOW! The entire staff was courteous and made us feel like VIPs. DO NOT BUY THE LIVING SOCIAL COUPON FOR THIS SUNSET CRUISE. My friend and I were traveling to Miami for the weekend and saw a coupon for the sunset cruise on living social. We bought one and I proceeded to call the company to make a reservation. The first day no one picked up their phones and I received an automated voice message telling me to email their company my reservation request which I promptly did. I did not hear back from them for 2 days so I proceeded to call again. This time someone picked up the phone and told me they did not take reservations through the phone and to email them. I explained I had done so and not received a response. He told me they might be waiting on a 10 person cancellation and he would get back to me. I received an email 30 min after I got off the phone with them saying they had spots available and confirming my reservation. My friend and I took a $30 cab and were greeted with no boat. We ran into 4 other people who were also scheduled to go out on the cruise that day and called the company. We were informed that there were maintenance issues and the cruise was canceled and we had to call to reschedule. The one couple said this had happened to them last time they had a reservation for this cruise as well. The worker on the telephone told me to email them and tell them my situation and they would process my refund via living social. It has been 2 days and I did not receive any email back. I emailed them again and still have not received anything. I then emailed living social and promptly received an email back processing my request. In essence, their costumer service is AWFUL. They do NOT care about their costumers and I suspect that they wait to see how many people sign up for their cruise before canceling it based upon the fact that we received NO information about the cancellation prior to traveling $30 to Brickell and subsequently $30 back and based upon the fact that a couple we met said this happened to them last week. I have never written a review before but am just so disgusted with my experience. read more
