Me and my friend go to Del Mar RELIGIOUSLY. Like probably way too much. But we can't help it because we LOVE IT. We always go and order like 5 million raw oysters, baked oysters and friend oysters because oysters are biblical. Not only are the oysters excellent the rest of the food is too. We've had the tagliatelle ( I hope I spelt that right I'm not Italian ) the shrimp pasta , the fish sandwich and always do the crab appetizer and honestly We have NEVER been disappointed with their food. Not only is the food great but so is the service! Shoutout to our favorite server Charles who is always super kind to us and provides excellent service every single time. Wow!!! I've been wanting to try Del Mar since it opened last year and I finally made it. I was nervous that this would be more of a "summer spot" because of the food and open window atmosphere...boy was I wrong. Even on a cold winter day it was super cozy. The cocktails and food were amazing. Highly recommend the lobster roll - note that it is served hot. Not pictured, but the lobster bisque was also amazing. There are so many restaurants on our list to try in Columbus and we don't often put things in the "must return" category, but we will for sure return here! Our cocktails were great, the potato bread just melted in your mouth, Brussels were delish. Pleasantly surprised they have happy hour on the weekend- we dined early before a show and the cocktails and apps were all half price! Loved both of our entrees- the barbacoa tacos and the 40 yolk tagliatelle. Also had the chocolate dessert- it was rich yet not overly sweet. Ambiance was so warm and cozy, and as with all Cameron Mitchell restaurants, the service was wonderful. Celebrated my birthday here and our server, Derek, was great. We dined at happy hour so we got to enjoy a couple glasses of expensive red wine for half price, and then also got a great bottle of Chardonnay for half off too! We started with a few baked oysters and also a few fried. Sadly, the baked were very salty but the fried were flavorless. I had read numerous reviews raving about the oysters, so we assumed it was just an off night for the kitchen. Then we ordered the potato bread. Yes, it is everything they say it is! Delicious. Our entrees were the Swordfish and the Skate fish. Both were cooked well, but again, seem to lack flavor. We were both enamored but the Brussel sprout slaw because it had great flavor to it! We did provide feedback to our server, but were adamant we weren't complaining. It was still good quality fish and cooked well. Our server was fun and engaging and we really enjoyed our evening. The best thing we had were the desserts! The coconut sorbet ... wowza! It was so tasty and smooth. The chocolate brownie was so good they should rename it something else LOL. Very disappointed, I don't know Cameron Mitchell but I think he would have been disappointed with my brunch today. Started with eggs Benedict, the muffin is never toasted enough. Love their Southern California based theme with attractive interior design. I have been here many times for brunch and dinner and have always had a good experience. You should try their seafoods here. Some of my favorites here are the 'fisherman's stew' and 'lobster roll'. Service is attentive and prompt but not intrusive which I really appreciate. I am being generous in my rating because they are "new". However took one star off due to food's portion IMO. You may think dinner menu selections are little over priced. Also they appear to have a full bar service but no listing was offered other than the specialty drinks, beers and wines on the menu. Heard that Del Mar named top 20 new restaurant for 2019. I would probably go back to do a deeper dive into the menu later. After meal, be sure to go up to the Lincoln social rooftop which locates directly upstairs for another drink! read more

Love their interior and ambiance! Lights and paintings are super cute! makes me feel like I am in a cruise ship. It was my second time being here and had 40 yolk tagliatelle this time and waited almost 40 min. I dont recommed you to go if you like promt service. Food was really savory and good but when I was half way done, I chewed plastic piece in my tagliatelle. They were very sorry about it and explained me how it got in there. The food was really good. I got a the oysters as starter, then had the rib-eye for main course. It was excellent. As for drinks, I was surprised to find out a restaurant of this capacity and $ does not have professional bartenders. I got an amaretto sour and got something else. It was just bad--it reminded me of the kind of cocktail I would find at a dive bar where they're hosing different liquid into your glass to make a drink. read more

We were celebrating our 12th anniversary tonight. But I digress. We had an 8 PM reservation and weren't seated until 8:30. And this is after the hostess forgot we were standing there and seated other people ahead of us. We get seated and are greeted by a very unfriendly server several minutes later. She was clearly annoyed by our presence. Our food arrived after some time and the oysters had a number of shells in them. My husband's salad was absolutely drenched in dressing. Our entrees arrived awhile later. My husband had the lobster role and I had the fisherman's stew. My husband's dinner was fine and my dinner was also fine, but nothing to write home about and definitely under-seasoned. Meanwhile, during this entire meal, my husband's drink sat empty and it took the server a full 45 minutes to ask him if he wanted another drink. She was most attentive when it came time to bring us the check. I asked her for another glass of water and she had to see if she had a full carafe of water before she would agree to five me a glass of water. All in all, I'm thoroughly unimpressed. I wanted to like this place. Idk like maybe I'm just old now, but it's just so not worth it. Hoping it gets better with time. read more

My family of 4 stopped in for brunch after se candle making. The. vibrant atmosphere was fun, and the open windows/doors gave a nice breeze. A good variety of option in the brunch menu, but 3 of us ordered the French toast, with the forth person ordering the breakfast burrito. In the mood for a seafood delight, I slipped down to the Short North for an evening of culinary bliss at Del Mar. Our indulgences for the evening included: Tuna Poke, Seven Vegetable Fried Rice, the Angus Ribeye & Fisherman's Stew...All of The dishes were perfectly cooked and spiced to delight our picky little tastebuds! After an amazing dinner, our pretty little shadowed eyes couldn't stay away from that pesky dessert menu so.....Chocolate and Coconut on the half shell it was! This is one of those restaurants that I've been dying to try since it opened and finally went on my birthday. They were so nice they gave me a brownie to celebrate :). Giving it three stars because overall it's not a bad restaurant. The staff are very friendly and nice. Service was prompt. I ordered the Beef Chow Fun, it was cooked very well the noodles against the beef were perfect, however it was just TOO salty for my liking. My friends had the cauliflower fried rice with chicken and the tacos, they both left their plates full and didn't seem to enjoy it as much either. Atmosphere is great and the restaurant has a nice vibe. Not completely crossing this place off my list. I'll definitely go again to try something else. read more

We stood by the door and waited and watched multiple parties arrive after us and be seated. At 8:27, I asked the hostess how much longer we'd be waiting, and she said "Oh, we can seat you now". Gee, glad I asked.... We had drinks, tuna poke, the salmon entree and the lobster roll - all very yummy. Table service was good, but nothing exceptional. Really great happy hour! We tried with tuna poke, peppers, sliders and the cauliflower rice. The sliders and poke were my favorite and I will be back to try more in the future! I only had white wine, but I'm looking forward to the extensive cocktail menu next time! I tried this new Cameron Mitchell restaurant on their third day of opening to the public and my first impression was how beautiful the restaurant was. It felt magical to be in that setting, and having had looked at their menu I was really excited about trying their dishes out. I tried the cocktail, Aloe it's me which was refreshing and sweet without overwhelming flavors. We also got happy hour poke (tuna and salmon), oysters, shishito peppers, sliders, and ceviche. I can't have shellfish but I tried everything besides the oysters and ceviche and they were pretty good. Loved the sliders the most, and you can't really mess up shishito peppers in my opinion. We also tried the fish tacos which didn't have enough flavor/sauce but the sweet potato chimmichurri that came with it was AMAZING. Also, the beef chow fun was super delicious. I don't prefer Chinese dishes but I think it was one of the best of dishes I had there that night. Now dessert, it was my friend's bday so we got the coconut on the half shell and the Hawaiian shaved ice. Both were very tasty and might've been the highlight of the night! Honestly, their house made coconut sorbet was the best dessert I've had in Columbus and I'm pretty set on having that for my birthday next month! I dined here with some friends last weekend and ordered the lobster roll. It was HEAVEN... that fresh, Connecticut not-too-chewy-melts-in-your-mouth kind of Lobster that I've only had on the East coast a few times in my life. It was SO dreamy, that I returned the following day because I just HAD to order the seafood stew. It was also my husband and my 1st wedding anniversary the next day, so that was a good excuse to go back. Next time, I'm going to get the salmon. From the decor to the food, this place has everything you could ever want in a restaurant. The decor is classic, modern with a travel twist. It kind of makes you feel like you are back in the 20s. The dishes are Southern California inspired, which I'll admit is not necessarily reflected in the decor. But, that really doesn't matter because either way, you feel as if you are dining high class! My favorite dish is the coconut sorbet served in a real coconut! So make sure you save room! read more
