    Margaritas

Visited The Alcove Cantina and enjoyed the beautiful patio--a good spot to hang out, especially with live music. The staff was friendly and welcoming, You order at the bar, and the vibe is laid-back and casual. The drinks were the highlight: the mango margarita was inexpensive and delicious. Definitely a good place to come for a drink and chill. As for the food, large portions, but unfortunately bland and underwhelming. The guac and other sides lacked flavor. Great for drinks, music, and atmosphere, but I'd skip the food next time.

The Alcove Cantina! The food is always so good and the live music makes it even better! Especially when Nova Band is on stage!

We had such a great time at The Alcove Cantina! The food is always so good -- everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. It's the perfect place to relax, enjoy good company, and have some amazing bites to eat. And the live music makes it even better! Especially when Nova Band is on stage -- they bring such great energy and really get the crowd going. The atmosphere is fun, lively, and welcoming every time we go. If you're looking for good food and great live entertainment, this is definitely the place to be. We'll be back for sure!

QUESO BURGER. Tasted like a premade HEB burger.

Food is totally not up to par for the price. Burger tasted like frozen precooked HEB burger. The brisket bbq tacos were dry. Very disappointed in food. Service was as always.

Best margarita I've had in years and lunch was AMAZING! I had (molcajete??) and the serving was big enough to bring home an entire lunch for my husband as well. The restaurant is cute and clean, and the service was excellent. I will definitely be coming back for more!

This was my first time here. If you sit outside at the patio, you order at the bar. They do deliver the food. It's a nice sized patio, and the live band was good. The prickly pear margarita was delicious and refreshing. My chicken taquitos were a little overcooked, and I couldn't taste any cheese. The salsa needed salt. So good drink, good ambiance, only okay food.

Pleasantly surprised by the authentic Mexican food--everything was delicious. The service was excellent; our waitress was witty, engaging, and very attentive. The music added to the atmosphere, playing at a perfect volume. Overall, a great experience. The rice was fluffy and awesome with a nice flavor. Best I've ever had.

Had a great late lunch here! It's a seat-yourself setup, and we chose to sit outside on the patio such a nice spot. The bartender provided excellent service, super friendly and attentive. I went with the pick-two tacos, and they were fantastic. Great drink selection, and the prices were reasonable too. They also have a solid lineup of live music advertised, so I'll definitely be back to check that out. Overall, a great spot with good food, drinks, and atmosphere.

flautas - looks so good but everything was so bland..

The ambiance of this restaurant is spectacular. I really enjoyed the live band they had - I would follow that band to another spot! The food was just okay. it's tex mex bar food which is what I expected but everything was super bland + the menu was limited/confusing. our server also told us he was going to be too busy to refill our waters so we could refill them ourselves... uh okay. I would visit again for a margarita, chips and salsa + if I received real service -- that's probably it! if you're looking to just get a drink, enjoy a band on a patio + maybe needing to order something just to put something in your stomach, this will work.

Located off Anderson Mill in the corner of a strip mall is a bookshelf with a door on the right side. If you cannot figure out the entrance, there is a doorbell to ring as well. I believe it is owned by the same people who own The Mill bar right next door, which makes it feel like a cool bonus space. My friend and I sat next to a faux fireplace, where we were greeted by the only bartender working and placed our order. Once he opened the tab, it was disappointing that he never came back to check if we wanted another drink. It wasn't super busy on the Monday we went, but since he was the only one manning the bar, the bartender was always doing something, so I don't blame him fully for not checking back in with us. I ordered a drink called the Velvet Vice. It looked nothing like the picture and tasted similar to an Aviation cocktail with egg whites. I happened to really like it. It is a very relaxed space, but once the speakeasy gimmick wears off, it does not have much else going for it. It is still a cool place, but I am not sure it was worth the lengthy drive to get there. I asked and Sam confirmed they were half price during their late night happy hour. I ordered the pepperoni flatbread, which was above average and considering it was half price. It really hit the spot. However, when I closed out and was presented with my check, the flatbread was at full price. I asked Sam about that and he said he would have to talk to his manager. He came back and said it was his fault. There was not a late night happy hour and that I would need to pay the full price - are you kidding me?? That is what his manager told him to tell me. Whenever we go to Round Rock we always say we should stop at this place and never do. They've got this really interesting outdoor patio scene happening that we've wanted to be a part of (you know, hanging out and relaxing with a beverage). Today (5/7/26) we got the chance to do it. We walked in the front door around 4 pm and there were maybe 2-3 people sitting at the bar. Decent enough looking bar interior. Kinda rustic meets dive. We immediately went out a door on the left of the entrance that led to the patio. It felt like the best kind of playground. Lots of room, colorful tables and chairs, an outdoor stage, an exterior walk up window to the bar, cool lighting, and so on. I was like a kid in a candy store! Loved it. My boyfriend and I decided we'd use the outdoor walk-up to place an order and sit outside. I told him I wanted to grab a couple of quick pics. While exploring the patio, there were three men outside as well. One looked to be a maintenance or perhaps construction worker. I figured he was doing repairs or maybe there after work. All of a sudden, one of the men asks if they could help us. My boyfriend simply said, "oh she's just grabbing a couple of pictures before we order". The second man in the group told me I couldn't do that. I thought he was kidding. I kind of chuckled and told him, "it's so cute here I just want to grab a couple of pictures before we order and it's a public setting". The construction worker guy pipes in that it's private property. I told them I didn't mean any harm and that I was excited to be there and I wanted to capture it for my memories and for a Yelp review. The first guy told me I "wasn't going to do that". Folks, I was flabbergasted! Everyone in Round Rock is so polite and kind and this was nothing short of bizarre. When he said that I said "ok" and we walked back through the bar to leave. I apologized to the bartender that we wouldn't be ordering after all and told her what happened. She just kind of looked at me. Pretty sure she was in a state of shock. She said nothing at all. A customer sitting at the bar kept shaking her head in disbelief at what we'd just experienced. I mean isn't the idea of being in business to have customers? Especially during a slow time when you don't have a large customer base present to generate income? Honestly, as I type this, I still can't believe this situation took place. I absolutely hate to leave bad reviews but sometimes you just don't have a choice. Needless to say, The Long Branch Saloon will NEVER get a dime from me.
