I visit Huntington Beach often and stop in here from time to time to grab a shirt or some sandals. Huntington Surf and Sport has all sorts of apparel from brands like Hurley, O'Neill, Vans, Quiksilver, Billabong and Volcom. You can also rent a board for the day if you don't have your own. In front of the shop is the Surfer's Hall of Fame and a statue of surfing legend Duke Kahanamoku. The Surfer's Hall of Fame had its first inductees in 1997 and honors legends of the sport with handprints and footprints on the sidewalk. Huntington Surf and Sport will sometimes set up canopies outside to sell marked-down merchandise.

The sale was held behind its headquarters building. If you walk straight along the side of the building and turn left at the end, you will see the entrance marked off with yellow tape. There is also more parking available in the back, so you can park closer and walk a shorter distance. I went on the 27th. When you enter the sale, staff hand everyone a large plastic bag and a price sheet. If items sell out, they cross them off the list. If you see something you like, you can just grab it and put it straight into your bag. Discounts vary depending on the item, but some deals were surprisingly good. For example, all belts were just $1 each. The sale was organized into men's, women's, and youth sections, and sizes were pretty well stocked. There was also a full-length mirror in the back left corner where you could quickly try things on. I ended up picking up a beach hat and a T-shirt that I really liked. That was a really unpleasant thing to say. It made her feel like she was being accused of doing something wrong, even though she was simply trying to exchange a tagged item for another size. Thankfully, a female manager came over and handled the exchange kindly and professionally, with no problem at all. I appreciate the manager's help, (that's the reason for 2 stars) but the way the sales associate treated my wife was embarrassing and disrespectful.
