This restaurant is vastly underrated in my opinion. It's one of my favorite options during Miami Spice. The quantity and quality of the food is spectacular. The service is top notch, and the pink decor is pretty and elegant. Everything I've ever tasted here was delicious. A few of my favorite items: Fritto Misto, Cotoletta Alla Milanese, Cavatelli Alla Bolognese, and the Torta Al Cioccolato for dessert. My friend took me to Sofia this past week for a girls night dinner. The interior of Sofia was very beautiful and the ambience was giving girly jazz bar. We had a table right next to the stage and there was a live singer and guitarist. The initial service we received was very disappointing as it took 15 minutes for anyone to greet our table or even get a glass of water. This was weird to us because there were so many workers and food runners constantly passing by our table in that 15 minutes. Once we finally got served, we were offered bread service and I ordered the flirtini off of their Tini Thursday menu. It was very delicious and the passionfruit flavor was very prominent. I ordered the brussels sprouts as a starter, and my friend ordered the potatoes. The brussels sprouts were very flavorful and on the sweeter side with the sauce. For my main course, I ordered the chicken which was served over couscous and peppers and onions. My friend ordered the spaghetti and she really enjoyed it. For dessert, my friend ordered the chocolate hazelnut mini cake. I only took a little bite, but it was very flavorful. It was like a chocolate mousse with a side of ice cream! The restaurant automatically charge 20% gratuity, which is fine, but disappointing when the service wasn't meeting that standard and expectations for the price of the menu items. Came here to celebrate my birthday and it was a true success. Our waiter Danilo was great and made sure we were taken care of the whole time we were there. The food was extremely delicious and fresh. We did their prefix brunch menu and the bottomless drinks and loved both of them very much! The place is very very nice. Love the decorations and even the bathroom had unique decor on it! 4.5 Went on a beautiful Miami night in December and everything about this dinner just worked. The space is stunning, elegant but not stuffy, and the energy felt lively without being overwhelming. Food-wise, the lobster pasta absolutely stole the show. Rich, perfectly cooked, and easily the favorite of the night. The tuna appetizer was also a standout...super fresh, well-balanced, and one of those dishes you keep going back to for "just one more bite." I hesitate. The experience was outside of our collective comfort level. It was chic, loud, expensive (and we're from NYC!) but it was a distinctly Miami cultural experience. We are "old" but not dead. We are from the northeast and we could have been in Singapore or on Mars . If you're young you will have no idea what I'm talking about until you are in your 70's, 80's and 90's as was our party of 4. But we are travelers and remain so. Anna was our waitress and "guide" as we entered this world, as we savoured it. We ordered pastas; Bolognase, Lasagna, Pomodoro, chicken and a bottle of Montepulciano. All were tasty and satisfying. The bill was almost $300, no appetizers, no desserts. But they did give us each a lovely glass of prosecco, on the house. That's a rarity. It was a scene. It was a place to visit and be a "Stranger in a Strange Land". We all agreed a perfect experience for travelers looking to experience something different. Visited this place for brunch and the entire place was pink and rosé color it was aesthetically pleasing and gave Luxe. I loved seeing the side booths it was so modern and the place got packed quick (happy that I had a reservation because it's highly recommended). Our server was amazing very energetic and funny. While touring the Design District I came across this restaurant after hearing music being played by a DJ and seeing large crowds standing in front. The music definitely attracted my attention but once inside, I found out why this place was so popular. I ordered the Spaghetti Nero Di Seppia, which, came with small pieces of maine lobster, shellfish brodo, red pepper, pasley and lemon. My second dish was Pollo Arrosto, which came with roasted organic chicken breast, fregola, peperonata, snap peas and chicken ju. Both dishes were truly amazing and were packed with flavor. Each was cooked and seasoned to perfection and the visual presentation of the food was art like. The overall vibe of the restaurant is casual yet upscale but offers a very relaxed and inviting atmosphere. I came here for dinner and had a good time. The truffle pizza is delicious and definitely on my top 3 of pizzas I've had in a while. The spicy rigatoni is also really good. I really wanted to love the ricotta stuffed zucchini flowers, but they ended up feeling a bit too heavy and greasy for my liking. It was my first dining experience and I was greeted so beautifully upon arrival and took a lovely picture at the entrance. The restaurant was very feminine and soft with fabulous portraits of Marilyn Manroe. Kicked of the soiree with a Love Affair cocktail which was very delicious. It had don julio blanco tequila, pisco, passion fruit, lemon, orgeat, chili tincture, fee foam! Highly recommend. Started my meal with a goat cheese salad with shaved squash and a nice vinaigrette. My entree was the black squid pasta with lobster sitting on a bisque lobster sauce which was absolutely delicious. I enjoyed my meal immensely. Dessert was a passion fruit sorbet as I am allergic to cow dairy. My gf had the same cocktail and the Miami Spice Prix fix menu for $45 which she enjoyed. Her portions were small but enjoyable. I thought this place was super chic and aesthetically pink throughout the restaurant. I thought it was so cool how they had a beautiful live DJ playing some nice ambient tunes. I tried this place for Miami spice and got the 3 course meal. I started with the tuna, which was refreshing, for my main course I had this spicy rigatoni, which was super delicious and al dente the way pasta should be! I ended the night with a delicious tiramisu espresso type of dessert. It was so fluffy and airy, I love the texture of the creamy filling, paired with soft biscuit outer layer. The dessert was probably my favorite thing. I do wanna mention that the food took a little longer to come out, even though the restaurant itself was not busy on a Saturday night, which was kind of odd. Either way, the food was delicious to me, but the service was a little lackluster. I think because people know we are going to try Miami spice for the month of August and September. But Sofia did not disappoint, we did have a bit of a wait but nothing too crazy for a Sunday brunch time in Miami. The frito miso was amazing and I particularly loved the lemon aioli. For my desert I got the passion fruit sorbet which was a bit more tart than what I'm used to. My main entree was the polenta which was nice but I wish it had protein option to add. Honestly, what killed me here was the service. Our server seemed nice at first, although throughout our dining experience it seemed like he forgot about us. He took a while to come over to even take our initial drink order. The party that was sat 15 minutes after us received their food before us and left prior to us even getting our food. It was quite disappointing. I also had to remind the server about my cocktail, because he had totally forgot to enter it into the system. We also received our basket of bread super late, it practically came out at the same time as our appetizer. The best part of this lunch was the burrata pizza, it was delicious! We ordered this as an appetizer. It was layered with arugula and aged balsamic was drizzled on top. Underneath the layers of arugula was prosciutto and to top off the pizza was a ball of fresh burrata. I absolutely loved it! As an entree we enjoyed the Cacio e Pepe pasta, this was very creamy and you can really taste the truffle. My husband had the spicy rigatoni alla vodka, it wasn't too spicy though. It could've used more imo. The cocktails were great! I absolutely loved the appasionata which was a twist on the aperol spritz. It was made with grey goose vodka, aperol, rose syrup, amaro nonino, lime and finished off with passion fruit. The espresso martini was also good, it could've used less simple syrup imo. Overall, the food was good and the cocktails were great. I recommend you check them out, hopefully the service is better for others. read more

I loved everything but the cripsy layered potato truly had my heart because I loved potatoes. Overall, everything from the cipollini to the filet paired perfectly. And the proportions were perfect, not too much and not too little. I usually go home with leftovers but I finished everything on that plate. -The Tiramisu was taken to go. It was nothing special to be honest, but still good! A special mention goes to their cocktails - the mixologists here really know their craft. I am just a social drinker and usually prefer non-strong alcoholic beverages, so the Love Affair was spot on. Perfectly balanced and refreshing! Whether you're here for a casual dinner with friends or a special night out, Sofia delivers on all fronts. The vibe, the food, and the drinks make it a top choice in the Design District. Went on a Design District tour to show my friends who are visiting around. I suggested Sofia to eat at, and they loved the pink umbrellas, the girl Dj playing outside and the full ambiance so they were sold. Our server Nadica was really sweet and helpful with suggestions. We started with a salad to share that I didn't capture, one friend had the branzino and the other two of us had the shareable Lobster Diablo pasta, and OMG! It had a whole lobster cut up through the dish and the portion size and flavors were chefs kiss. We each had a couple cocktails each while chatting it up. i just sat at the bar because the original restaurant i wanted to go to had a long wait and i was starving. this is definitely an elevated, very miami vibe sort of restaurant. everyone was very dressed up and the staff seemed irritated at everyone. i had to flag down the bartender (who felt like was ignoring eye contact with me the whole time) to receive a menu. once i was finally able to put in my order, it came out looking delicious but a very small portion for a $40 pasta. it took forever to get someone to close me out & just felt very transactional. the food was fine but certainly wouldn't bring me back. read more

The Insalata Romana had the perfect amount of dressing, and the Fritto Misto was crispy, airy, and not overly fried. The star of the meal was the Spicy Rigatoni--so delicious I could've easily eaten two plates! The sauce was incredible, with just the right kick of heat. Now let me say, I know it was Mother's Day, so I will preface my review on that, but it wasn't like every single seat in the place was filled, it was relatively busy, but took more than twenty minutes after the server came to give us water to get our drink order and then twenty more minutes to receive the drinks. My waitress, Ana, was amazing, as well as the general manager, Gary, but their entire staff pays great attention to detail. I did bottomless & had the refreshing spritz de passione. For starters, I had insalata romana & fritto misto. The salad was fresh with amazing ingredients--creamy dressing, tasty croutons & savory (36 month aged) Parmesan. The calamari & veggies paired with it were lightly breaded & perfectly fried. My entree, spicy rigatoni alla vodka, was the highlight of my meal. The noodles...perfect. The sauce...perfect--creamy with a bit of heat. I ordered a side of bacon which added the perfect amount of salt & crisp to my dish. For dessert, I had tiramisu & gelato which I loved. The gelato was paired with pizzelle, my favorite cookie. The espresso is great quality & the hugo italiano is another great drink--both would suffice as substitutes for traditional dessert. Was able to try this restaurant during Miami Spice month for GNO. It was such a girl's vibe. The restaurant is dimmed with pink hues everywhere. Very cool, hip ambiance. Our server Salvatore was amazing! He recognized that it was girl's night out and made our experience/dinner with his recommendations and service. It was a group of six, so we were able to try a little bit of everything from the menu. A lot of plates didn't make it into pictures so you're just going to have to trust me. For appetizers we tried the ahi tuna, calamari, and for an up-charge the wagyu carpaccio. The Calamari was rightfully crispy and salted to perfection. The carpaccio had truffle, not too sharp of a cheese, and fig for sweetness that just paired so well with the beef. I loved it. It was worth every dollar up-charge. For the main course, I got the Spicy Rigatoni Alla Vodka - which I wish it was a little bit more spicier for me. But, the pasta was cooked right to al dente and it was deliciously cheesy enough. I got to sample the salmon which was cooked to "medium!" And I also sampled the Bistecca - medium - that melted in your mouth. We had a white and a red bottle of wine that night - don't ask me what they were. But a time was had. And the food was great. I think a DJ even came on at some point. read more

I've been wanting to try Sofias Cacio e Pepe for a while a finally went to try it! The restaurant is decorated very cute and very pink lol. Our server was very attentive and checked on us frequently. They were participating in Miami Spice and even had Spice beverages so of course I ordered from that menu. I ordered the love affair and it was delicious! For the appetizer I went with the insalata romana which was pretty much a cesar salad that could've used a little more dressing. For my main dish I got the cacio e Pepe and it was good but unfortunately I didn't see the hype. For dessert I got the cannoli with the sober and both were delicious! We came here for the first time for Miami Spice. The place is very cute, all pink decor. The hostess was nice but sat us in a back booth near the door with a lot of flies, so we had to move. Once we moved the experience improved. Off of the miami spice menu, we had the burrata and the fritto misto. The burrata was a small piece that came with cooked cherry tomatoes, balsamic, and two pieces of ciabatta. It was tasty but small. The fritto misto had fried pieces of calamari, eggplant, and zucchini and the chili dipping sauce was spicy and delicious. For mains, we both had the spicy rigatoni. it was phenomenal!!!! so good. the pasta was perfectly al dente and the sauce was creamy, spicy, and the perfect thickness. For dessert, we got one of each -- the tiramisu and the cannoli. The cannoli order came with two (perfect to share). The mango sorbet was cold and refreshing and paired nice with the cream-filled pastry. The tirimsu had ice cream on the bottom i gelive. It was cold. It was good but i prefer traditional tirimisu. The dessert was gelato and this is really the only part that I found a glitch, there were rather large chunks of ice in it, and this shouldn't be the case. Service is very friendly and the team will work together to bring out your food and communicate anything else. The interior of this restaurant is elevated decor.
