I found this place accidentally on Yelp because my usual place is closed for lunch break. So here is my breakdown: the dining room is normal, nothing fancy. Food is food; they have a regular menu and happy hour prices that are unbelievably matched with the portion they are serving. P.S. serving on paper plates and plastic utensils. Restbroom outside the building but clean

Inside was clean, and we were greeted upon entry. It was pretty empty, so we had our choice of seating. We had the bang bang popcorn lobster, Mona Lisa Roll, and cheesy Jalapeños. The rice on the Mona Lisa Roll didn't look or taste like sushi rice, but the roll was good. I am not a Tempura fan, so I was sad when the 2 appetizers came covered in it. The description on the menu did not mention tempura for either the Jalapeños or lobster. The appetizers both came in cheap paper boats, and we received plastic forks that snapped when used. The sushi roll came on a plastic tray. I'd highly suggest getting actual plates and silverware to use. This was my biggest peeve here. We may come back to try the ramen, but we are not sure yet.

The Red Devil Sushi Roll I got was delicious!! staff said it would be a 30 minute wait for the sushi and it was still filling enough to have leftovers to take home!! they also gave us complimentary miso soup for our wait :) nice chill spot if you're looking for something on the cheaper end in old town!! atmosphere is very chill and it's a nice way to wind down a busy shopping day.

My family and I stopped in today 5/25/24 looking for somewhere new to try. We were very pleased with our selections which were chicken karaage $6, rainbow roll $15, spicy tonkotsu ramen $15.50 and regular tonkotsu ramen $14.00. Everything tasted great and the staff were friendly. I definitely recommend. Everything before tip ran about $55 and some change.

Cute, little ramen shop next to the matcha cafe in Old Town Temecula. We made it in time to get a table for 2. It was busy on a Saturday night. Service is friendly and expeditious. The miso and tonkotsu ramen was ok. The dessert, sesame balls with matcha ice cream, was delicious! The only thing is that they serve everything but drinks in to go containers even if you are dining in. Overall, an average experience.

It's still their soft opening so we were given a limited menu, but it was still filled with my faves! Their signature is their tonkatsu ramen and sushi. Their bowl was filled generously with three large pieces of tonkatsu-perfectly flavored, btw! The egg was just a hair over cooked, but I'll overlook it since it's their soft opening. It's like the gymnastics landing-gotta stick it to make it a perfect 10! Flavor of the broth made up for it however. Bluefin tuna was equally generous and soooooo good! I had to get another.. just melt in your mouth goodness! The sweet ending was a not too sweet matcha ice cream ball with crunchy warm sesame balls. Great combo of flavors and textures to end my palate party. Service was great to top it off. Well done!

Gorgeous tuna considering this place is landlocked!

We were in the mood for sushi, sashimi, ramen, etc. It was a very hot day and a salad sounded good. The chef was so kind and accommodating to our desires. He replaced the chicken for spicy tuna on a lovely sounding salad. Not only was it delicious but the wait staff were also wonderful. The place is short on ambiance but that's not what we were looking for. Did not disappoint.

Food is good but service is kind a slow for an early opening. Ambience is ok it's kind a hidden from the busy street.

I would've given them a 5 stars, if they used actual dishes and cutlery, not everything in paper and plastic, but the food and service deserves 5 stars. Awesome delicious food! They have so many options, but my favorite was the spicy garlic edamame, beef bulgolgi fries, and the lobster popcorn rolls

Good food, delicious ramen and sushi. Their bluefin and toro sashimi is so fresh and yummy. Literally melt in your mouth. Ramen also was so flavorful and creamy service is a 5 foods 5 great small restaurant with nice izakaya ambience remind me in Japan. Very clean. They will also have a lot selections of draft beers on tap, craft beers and sake imported from Japan. We will be back and become regular for sure. There's none good Japanese food here in old town Temecula.

Perfect for anniversary dinner:…read more Omakase sushi is one of the most refined and memorable dining experiences you can have, especially if you appreciate attention to detail, freshness, and craftsmanship. From the moment you sit down, there's a clear sense that this is not just a meal--it's a curated journey guided entirely by the chef's expertise and intuition. What makes omakase stand out is the trust you place in the chef. Instead of choosing dishes yourself, you allow the chef to present a sequence of sushi that highlights the best ingredients available that day. This often results in a progression that feels intentional and balanced, starting with lighter, more delicate flavors and gradually moving toward richer, more complex pieces. Each bite is thoughtfully designed to showcase the natural qualities of the fish, the texture of the rice, and the subtle interplay of seasoning. The freshness of the ingredients is immediately noticeable. High-quality omakase typically features fish flown in from top markets, and you can taste the difference. The fish is clean, tender, and often melts in your mouth. The rice, which is just as important as the fish, is seasoned perfectly--slightly warm, lightly vinegared, and shaped with precision so it holds together without being dense. Another standout aspect is the craftsmanship. Watching the chef prepare each piece right in front of you adds a level of appreciation you don't get with standard dining. Every movement is deliberate, from slicing the fish to forming the rice to brushing on just the right amount of soy or adding a touch of wasabi. It becomes clear that years of training and discipline go into even the simplest-looking piece of sushi. Omakase also introduces you to varieties of fish and preparations you might never order on your own. This expands your palate and helps you discover new favorites. Seasonal ingredients often play a role, which keeps the experience dynamic and unique each time you go. Service is typically intimate and attentive, especially if you're seated at the counter. The chef may explain each piece, offer guidance on how to eat it, or adjust the pacing based on your preferences. This interaction adds a personal element that enhances the overall experience. While omakase can be more expensive than regular sushi, the value lies in the quality, skill, and overall experience. It's not just about eating--it's about enjoying a carefully orchestrated meal that reflects both tradition and creativity. Overall, omakase sushi delivers a level of quality and thoughtfulness that's hard to match. If you're looking for a dining experience that combines artistry, flavor, and a sense of occasion, omakase is absolutely worth it.

All of the servers were friendly, attentive, and quick to check in on us. We never had to flag anyone down or wait long for assistance. The menu offers a great variety of options, making it easy to find something for everyone. We ordered the Black Garlic Ramen, Shrimp Tempura Udon, Garlic Edamame, and a variety of rolls. Everything came out quickly, was fresh, and tasted great. The ramen and rolls were especially enjoyable, and there wasn't much left behind except for the broth. The only item that missed the mark for me was the Garlic Edamame. It was coated in quite a bit of sauce, which ended up overpowering the flavor of the edamame itself. I'd recommend ordering it with less sauce or asking for it on the lighter side if possible. Overall, the prices were reasonable, the food was good, and the service was attentive. If I'm back in the area, I'd definitely stop by again.

I decided to pull out dream car #3, put my foot in her and swing by here yesterday because it was a holiday, and we wanted something different. This will likely go down as one of the worst decisions of all 2026. Dont get me wrong, 3.5 stars caught my attention, but finding a place with more than 3.5 stars in the inland empire is basically impossible. We saw the poor reviews, read them and concluded it was mainly a service issue. Let me tell you, its WAY more than a service issue. My first mistake was coming on Valentine's day, it was PACKED. Okay, no big deal however when the food came out disappointment is an understatement. First off they nuked my MR steak it was well done and dry, so after an hour I had to wait again for another steak, mind you im paying 55$ a plate for filet minion and a lobster tail. It comes out looking nothing like the picture. I am livid because at this price point the fact that they burned my steak and served both my steak and lobster in cut up over cooked tiny pieces is diabolical. My lady doesnt like me to be an a$$ to places so I am trying to be cool, but I just dropped 155$ and it was one of the worst meals I have had in immediate memory. Its a holiday and her treat, so I am trying to be nice, and the server, I think she calls herself "Sky" was cool so I didn't want to get upset with her. She brings another steak (in pieces) and it was cooked better but I didnt finish it. It was still terrible, I took the rest home to my dog because shes not as picky as I am. Its the next day and im still HOT, I burned 150+ on this place. I will NEVER be back. If your reading this, go to Benni hana instead. Since we came on a weekday it was pretty quiet which made the whole thing really relaxed and easy. We got seated right away and the staff were warm and welcoming from the moment we walked in. There's something honest about a new sushi spot finding its footing, and Toro Sushi leans into that simplicity in the best way. No gimmicks, no overreaching, just clean cuts of fish, thoughtfully plated, and priced like they actually want you to come back. The sashimi (even the "small") punches above its weight, fresh, clean, no nonsense. You taste the ocean, not the freezer. That's already half the battle won. The sleeper hit here is the bento box. It's the kind of meal that reminds you value still exists, generous without being sloppy, filling without feeling like a compromise. The kind of plate that earns repeat business. Come in around 5:30 and it's still catching its breath. By 6, though, the place finds its pulse, busy, lively, the kind of energy you want in a neighborhood spot that's clearly starting to click. Service was kind, and quick, food came out decent too. The tempura shrimp and veggies was crisp and not too oily. The room itself? Polished. Modern. Spotless. Someone cares, and it shows. But like any place finding its stride, there are gaps. The men's restroom is a one-person situation, and if you've got a kid, you're out of luck, no changing table in the men's room, us millennial dads are not afraid of a poppie diaper. Not a dealbreaker, but a miss in a family-heavy area. Still, Toro Sushi doesn't try to be the loudest spot in the room, it just quietly does enough things right to make you want to return. And honestly, that's the kind of place that lasts.
