Oishi Roll, Rainbow Roll, New York Roll
    April M.

This place never disappoints me. I come here exclusively for the sushi, which I would argue is very generous in portion. The sushi comes out very quickly, and whenever I order kimchi or miso soup or other appetizers, they are quick to come out as well. I mainly like to order the rainbow roll, which is extremely generous with its size and the various fish on top cut in a nice, thick slice that gives plenty of flavor to the entire roll. I also order the New York Roll, which has tuna, salmon, and green onion, which at first may seem plain but is actually a really good deal and portion. The Oishi Roll is their cucumber roll and has spicy tuna. Their other rolls are also good, but these three are my go-to. I've never had a tastier Rainbow Roll than here at SOHO. Their kimchi is always very flavorful and possesses a great texture that is very appealing and scrumptious. It is worth it to order a side of kimchi with every visit, no matter the occasion. The staff is very courteous with their guests and is very attentive. There is plentiful seating for a variety of party sizes indoors, as well as even outdoor seating though I myself have never sat outdoors at SOHO. There is a parking lot available right in front with designated take-out parking spots as well. Food comes prepared well both when dining in and when taking out. I have only once or twice ordered their ramen, which comes in a generous, large bowl portion. They have a full Korean cuisine menu, including items such as soondubu, kimchi-jiggae, japchae, bulgogi, and others, though I've been so enthused with their sushi I've never had the chance to order these items myself.

Great service and tasty food!! We went for a friend's birthday and Soho did not disappoint. I was the only to order sushi, and it came out within minutes. I had the Vegas roll. Very good! My friends had the shrimp fried rice and the chicken katsu, They both loved it! We will be back to try some of their drinks.

    Various sushi

This is hands down my favorite place to get sushi! I have been several times and have not had one bad experience. The sushi always tastes fresh and delicious. The restaurant has such a low key nice vibe.

Maybe I just don't like Korean food or maybe I'm just ordering the wrong items but I wasn't particularly impressed with the Korean items we tried - lettuce wraps (good), japchae (lacking flavor), and 2 kinds of "spicy" soups that weren't spicy at all and also lacking flavor. The sushi roll I had, however, was wonderful and I would love to come back to try more of that menu. I had the Michigan roll and it was fantastic.

    California/Shrimp tempura lunch special. $9.99

I'm so happy to have a sushi place close to my mom's place when I visit. I'm not very adventurous, as I live a good California roll. A bonus point to them for adding no cucumber. I am not a cucumber anything fan. I ordered their lunch combo roll special for $9.99. One Cali roll, and one shrimp tempura roll. I wasn't enthralled with the shrimp roll. I wasn't expecting a sauce on it. Maybe next time I will stick with two California rolls. My safety net order. Service was quick; I farted over to Target while they were being prepared, and they were ready for me on my return.

The waitress was kind and welcoming. The food was great with a large variety of options. This place is a big on the expensive side compared to some of the other places I have been to. I ordered a soju drink, mixed with cucumber, and it came in a tea spot( very strange), the drink was still great.

    The spider roll sushi!

The food was absolutely amazing loved the spider roll sushi and the bibimbap was amazing. Totally love it!

From top to bottom: Tokyo Roll, Jalapeno Roll and Volcano Roll

I always have to get carry out since I have a toddler, but the inside ambience is really nice with music and seating. The sushi is always super fresh and their fried rolls are never too crispy like other places. I love it here!

Good Sushi. Affordable and quantity is generous. There are restaurants that charge twice more for less for no reason.

This time we got the bibimbap, black goat soup, and a bone soup. We also got Jap Che for appetizer. Everything was satisfactory. Both the soups were piping hot. We got barley tea, which was complimentary. The service was below average. It was busy but our server never came back once to check on us. She also had a lousy attitude in terms of simple questions I asked about the menu and seemed annoyed. Ambiance was warm on a cold day and pretty packed with many customers ordering Korean barbecue.

We had fried Mandu for an appetizer- they were delicious and crispy. We picked Combination A- which had bulgogi, marinated short ribs, chicken, and shrimp. All the meat turned out so good and tender. We also got the steamed egg- would definitely recommend this as well. All the Banchan that came with the combination meal were delicious. And comes with purple rice- we got one extra bowl so we'd each have one as the combination plate comes with 2. This was a good amount of food for me, my husband, and child. My 4 year old was a big fan of the food too- and they gave her a cute pink plate to use so she loved that. Also tried the Bokbunja, Korean raspberry wine, and it was good! Moderately sweet berry flavor, more of a dessert-y wine, it was fun to try!

The miso soup came out first and was pretty standard. The Tako Su had large slices of octopus with plenty of cucumbers. It was decent, nothing standout. The gyoza was actually an accidental order because I thought I had ordered shumai. Looking back, I probably should've realized something was off when the server asked if I wanted them steamed or grilled. Ironically, they ended up being one of the better items. I took them home and even cold later on, they were still good. The sashimi appetizer had a nice variety and was probably one of the stronger dishes of the night. Unfortunately, the shumai completely missed the mark. It was very wet -- you can even see it in the photo -- and just not how shumai is supposed to be prepared. Personally, I think Asahi Sushi does this dish far better, including the sauce. The beef bibimbap was also disappointing for me. I love bibimbap served in a scorching hot stone bowl where the rice crisps up and caramelizes at the bottom. This lacked all of that. In my opinion, both Asahi Sushi and Sumo Sushi do bibimbap significantly better. If that's what you're craving, this wouldn't be my recommendation. As for the sushi rolls -- the S n T and White Tiger Roll -- they were just bland. Not terrible, not inedible, but very forgettable. Overall, my experience was okay, but nothing about it stood out enough to make me want to return. The servers were pleasant, but there were no recommendations or guidance offered, and the food never really moved beyond average. I ended up giving this place 2 stars for three main reasons: 1. The servers lacked recommendations or menu guidance. 2. The food overall was bland. 3. There are significantly better sushi options nearby. If you're looking for exceptional sushi, udon, and bibimbap, I'd personally recommend Asahi Sushi instead. It's only about 12 minutes away and, in my opinion, absolutely worth the drive for the quality, presentation, service, and overall experience.

Both were on the spicy side but not a lingering, hot spicy...just a quick "bite back" spicy, if you know what I mean. One was a Spicy Pork and the other was Chicken Teriyaki but both had a similar amount of spice. Might have been the sauce used. Hubby ordered the Teriyaki Chicken Bento Box. I grabbed a menu and began my search for my fated dish. Having always been a fan of teriyaki chicken, that's what I went ahead and ordered. The staff, in the little interaction I had was friendly and the food came out promptly. Unlike some teriyaki chicken, this was thankfully not fatty and made for a pleasant dining experience. The avocado was fresh, and the bottled sauces that were included offered incredible flavor! I would say, from the meal, my favorite dishes were the chicken itself the kimchi (which was extra) and the noodles pictured in the bottom right (which I do not know their name). They were cold, which I believe is how they are served but they were really good and meaty! The kimchi was delicious and paired SO well with the dish! My only complaints were with the rice and the drinks. I was not really a fan of the texture of the rice and the soda was a bit flat. Overall I would rate Kimchi box a 4/5. A charming and clean establishment in its own right and I would gladly go back, especially to have some revitalizing food on a cool rainy day!

The service isn't bad, but I think the expectation is that you will let them know if you need something. They don't keep an eye on your water or drinks, but they were quick to fill them once we flagged them down. We tried some of our personal favorites and new things. They had a corn tea, which I never tried before. The flavor is hard to describe and a bit outside my preferences. It has a strong earthy corn taste. It was hot and came in a big pot. The banchan were awesome. I loved their kimchi, cucumbers, and fish cakes the most. They also had a seaweed salad and bean sprouts. We have tried sundubu jjigae with pork, kimchi fried rice, fried dumplings, japchae, and pajeon. I wouldn't get the sundubu again. There was something strongly overpowering the soup that was too intense for me and kind of bitter. Ive ordered this soup before at other locations, so I was surprised that it didn't suit my palate. The pajeon was huge. I prefer them thin, and this one was crazy thick. It was also overpowered with garlic, and I don't think those words have ever come out of my mouth before. What I would order again---japchae, kimchi fried rice, and dumplings! I love that they have so many options, and I had fun trying new things.
