My fave place most especially if Kaylin V. is around. Food was awesome, highly recommended. Jimbo and Elmer always having a competition in making sushi. Service was top notch as usual. The place was bigger than their old place at Royal Oak.

Second time here and this visit was a let down. It started out great with appetizers of lumpia and shumai. Next up was one of the best squid salads I have ever had. Here is when things started to get rocky. Hubby hot chicken and pork adobo. It WAS very good except for the abundance of whole peppercorns in it. If you took a bite, you better be careful you did not bite one or the intense pepper level blew out your taste buds. But that still was not the worst. The worst was my dinner - sushi. At a sushi bar. I ordered a raw scallop as it was so great last time and it is one of my favorites. They sliced it thin and (egad!!!) topped it with sliced green onion and a very light sauce. F&$k. Total waste of a raw scallop. On to the next piece of fish - a squid. Never had it before and hated the texture - not their fault. Ordered "lobster" sashimi and got (presumably) lobster salad. Honestly, it could have been any diced fish in mayo. Pretty tasteless and I did not finish it. Also ordered a yellowtail and scallion roll that was nasty. It did not taste like the fish was bad but the rice tasted like it was from a few days ago, the fish had a very fishy taste and I could not even eat half of the roll. Now I am a sushi lover and I have gotten to-go boxes for all leftovers in the past. This is the first time I have left sushi on my plate with no interest in taking it home. As soon as we left, my normally very polite husband said that was the most disgusting sushi he has ever eaten...and I concur. For a sushi restaurant, whoever prepared this sushi should be ashamed.

As customers of the original Royal Oak location, we couldn't wait for this place to open driving by frequently. Surprisingly (or not), the interior is very similar to the OG. Open concept. Dark wood. Plenty of televisions. Miranda, our server, was so nice and personable. She checked on allergen ingredients for us and was well versed with the menu. Staff all around were friendly and checked on us throughout our visit. We ordered veggie sushi rolls and the vegetable spring rolls. Sushi was beautifully presented and fresh. Sitting rolls weren't greasy and come with homemade pineapple dipping sauce. Not gooey plum sauce. Very unique. For mains, we ordered Yaki Udon and Pad Prik. Decent portions and enough to share or take a little home. Great flavor and heat (pad prik). Drink list is solid. We ordered a glass of wine and a beer. Both reasonably priced. Nice background music at a pleasant volume. Great 70's, 80's, and 90's. Big parking lot and easy to get to. Can't wait to come back.

SERVICE WAS GREAT - our server was a sweetheart and was very knowledgeable about all of my questions and we were greeted immediately Food was probably the most mediocre food i've ever eaten. i lived in asia for three years and have been eating sushi my whole life. the "tuna" tasted like it was out of a bag and its grey... ginger salad was good and the veggies were fresh, still, nothing out of this world though. i wanted a california roll with salmon - which was not on the menu - and they kindly provided exactly what i asked for. even then it just didn't taste like anything?? i don't know. i also ordered the lumpia off of the filipino section and it was very good. definitely satisfied with that. the restaurant itself was very clean and well lit. the options for entrees looked pretty promising. i could've just had a bad visit or ordered the wrong things but who knows. would possibly give another try for the entrees in the future the sushi in the picture has soy sauce on it from me

To all my sushi lovers! This place is the very best, I'm so happy they moved from Royal Oak to Rochester. The parking is so much better and you don't need to pay to park. I have been dining here since 2005 and never once been disappointed. They now are serving Ramen and the quality and freshness is top notch. Upon waking in you're immediately greeted and asked if you wish to sit at the bar, dining room or sushi bar. If you ever dined in Royal Oak you will immediately feel such a sense of comfort when walking through the doors because it looks exactly the same! They have a full service bar and offer many appetizers and entrées, from the menu to choose from and many choices from the sushi menu and don't forget to check out the Exotic board. Spread the word to all your friends and family letting them know Little Tree is now located at Rochester Rd and Hamlin. Let's all welcome Little Tree to Rochester and please be sure to stop by to say hello to the best sushi chefs around! I promise you won't be disappointed!

Same aesthetic and quality food you expect at the Royal Oak location, but now in Rochester Hills. Dined on a Tuesday and no reservations needed. Service was slow to refill drinks and check in, but we'll definitely be back for the sushi!

Their sign is easy to see as you drive by, but my friend did give me a heads up that their door was not obvious. You need to walk through a fence and then open a non deacript door. The artwork outside is awesome! When we walked in we received a friendly greeting and were quickly shown to our seats. We had made a reservation ahead of time and there was no delay to seat us upon our arrival. Our server was friendly and took our drink orders right away. I appreciated that they had multiple non alcoholic drinks and at a fair price. I started with the Thai Iced tea which was delicious, but I would have loved a glass 2x the size! We ordered multiple dishes to share amongst us. I did ask the server how many dishes they recommended that we order as I wasn't sure of the size. The items are brought out as they are made, so we had food being dropped off to is at random intervals. The only slight issue we experienced was when someone else tried to bring a plate of squid to our table. We let them know that we had not ordered it. They then went and talked to our server, who brought the squid back to our table. We also let them know that we had not ordered that dish. Our server did bring back our order slip and looked it over, and I believe at that point they realized that we really had not ordered that dish and just weren't rejecting it. I am not sure if it had been written wrong, communicated to the kitchen wrong, or what but we did have to state multiple times that we had not ordered it. The rest of our dishes arrived correctly. The crispy chive cakes were great, and the sticky spare ribs were AMAZING. The caramel glaze on the outside of the ribs was so good, and they were tender as well. The outside was super crispy. I would absolutely ordered these again. I would say that both of those dishes were only for 2 people. The sticky rice and jasmine rice were as to be expected, and I personally felt that the papaya salad was not as good as others I have had. The chilli noodles had an amazing broth and I would also recommend. Overall, I did enjoy our dinner but I am not sure that I would go out of my way to return. I am rounding up to 4 stars based on the sticly ribs alone, otherwise a 3.5 would be more fair. I have been hearing about Takoi for years, so maybe my epxections were too high but I was expecting a bit more.

The sweet chili sauce is perfect. Thai Peanut Noodles (4/5): The noodles had great texture and the Thai peanut sauce was delicious. The tofu wasn't really crispy and I personally would've loved the option to add some meat. Lamb Dumpling (4/5): Lots of meat in the filling and didn't taste gamy at all. Limited time special. Shrimp Shumai (4/5): Really enjoyed the wonton wrapper. Shrimp flavor came through nicely. Limited time special. House Salad (4/5): Light and fresh. The soy based dressing was sweet, slightly acidic, and not at all overpowering. Warm Chocolate Cake (4/5): Delicious cake with a warm, gooey inside. I personally don't like coconut or chocolate and fruit desserts, but I still enjoyed this a lot. Creme Brulee Tasting (4/5) : Green tea, pumpkin spice, and ginger creme brulees. Loved getting to try a little bit of each flavor (green tea was my favorite). Spiced Caramel Pear (3/5): Not my favorite since I don't generally like cooked fruit.
