A seemingly simple dish with a complex flavor profile. Let's start with the traditional sauce, usually made with tamarind pulp, fish sauce, and palm sugar. Instead, this seemed to have some sort of glucose sauce. No bueno. There also seem to be far less ingredients in this execution, resulting in a plate of noodles, fresh shrimp, ground peanuts, and a couple lime wedges. No sprouts for crunch. Nor anything else to round out a very basic preparation. Despite the award, this did not seem like a very happy interpretation of some really wonderful Thai dishes. Thai Table is like the best "home cooking" I had back in Thailand. I had their pork satay with real homemade peanut sauce (not canned), onion/cucumber side - perfect balance and satay cooked over REAL charcoal-- not deep fried or grilled. Would be nice to have little toast squares to slurp up the leftover peanut sauce. I ended up using my finger to get it all (it's that good!). My main entree was Nahm Tok -a spicy beef dish native the Northeast of Thailand. It was just like "home". (They offer 5 levels of spice here; I had #3 and it was about right for me.) My partner had Pad Siew with beef. A lot for single serving; probably enough for 2 though. Very tender beef and nicely chewy wide rice noodles stir fried with julienne veggies. Again, perfectly spiced. I really wanted to have their Tom Kha soup, but at $20 for a single serving, I decided to try that next time. If they offered enough for two, for the same price, more people would be able to enjoy it. The quality of the food matched the prices. But it was worth every delicious bite! The Pad Siew and Satay matches or exceeds the style and taste of the best "street food" you could find on Silom Rd. in Bangkok ! Thai Table has been open for about two years and does a lot of takeout in the neighborhood. We are definitely making this place my "go to" for authentic Thai cuisine. We were excited for our NYE dinner from Soho Sushi, as this was our first opportunity to try this restaurant. And this will definitely be the last time we eat here. After unpacking our food, my wife bit into her first bite of her spicy tuna roll and found a piece of plastic. I started on mine and on the second bite found a large sharp piece of plastic in my spicy tuna roll that cut my mouth. This unfortunate discovery tainted the remaining meal and I am pissed that we spent $84.66 on a meal of Russian Roulette with the uncertainty of finding more plastic in our food. Not sure if Stevie Wonder is working at SS making rolls, but this is incredibly poor quality with low standards to allow food to leave a place of business with plastic shrapnel embedded into someone's meal. This was the WORST experience and we hope no one else discovered plastic in their meals tonight. read more

Great food good service! Out of all the sushi places I've been to in Grand Rapids Soho is definitely the best. I also like the udon noodles, get the seafood udon if you want traditional udon with seafood soup! Or you can get Yaki udon which is stir fried. Both highly recommended! read more
