Second time back here and it was pretty good I have never had elote and love the stile they had for this place shaving the corn off the cop and mixing it together it was really good I recommend. I ordered the steak tacos for the shrimp was definitely my favorite it was kinda fried I believe but really good also my mom ordered the chili relleno and it was so good it was light and had the right amount of spice and all that overall service was good food was good would come back and probably get the rellenos next time with at least one taco. Really want to like this restaurant as it's a close walk and the ambiance is nice. Drinks and service are on point, but the food could be better. Ordered the Ensenada fish tacos and there was no taste of fish. All I could taste was over fried breading. The red rice also did not have much flavor. The salsa was ok, so pouring that on the taco and rice helped. My guests chicken street taco had so much onion and cilantro on it that you couldn't really taste the chicken. Seems like easy fixes to improve the food. Hope it gets better as the options in Cherry Creek are dwindling. read more

I come here quite often for brunch and dinner but never for lunch. We came here to try lunch as we love SOL , but unfortunately it was the most awful experience we have had here and will most likely not return. Overall the service was horrible and the food quality was not good as well. We got seated and waited 20 min to be seen( after we spoke up and said something). The waiters around us saw that we were waiting but still didn't acknowledge us. After we got someone to see us they brought us chips/salsa and water but no napkins or plates. The waiter was putting plates/napkins on all the empty tables around us and saw we didn't have any, but didn't do anything until we had to get up and ask. Other people who were dining also seemed to have a similar issue. It took just as long to get the check at the end where we had to get up to find someone to let us pay. Regarding the food, I wouldn't recommend for lunch, I would recommend brunch and dinner though. We all ordered tortas which was mostly all bread and very little meat. I got the steak quesotorta and it came with two THIN pieces of steak. It was not worth the 17 dollars for it. Overall it was a pretty disappointing dining experience. We usually eat here very frequently and always bring out of town family here and recommend it to friends and family here in the Denver area, but most likely will not anymore. read more

Have eaten at SOL several times during visits to Cherry Creek Denver and have always been very happy with the food quality, service, entree choices and ambiance. Always such a pleasure visiting SOL! Came here for the first time last night, we really enjoyed the appetizers. The guacamole was delicious and very fresh as was the sweet corn, they cut it right off the cob infront of you! The coconut calamari was good but only comes with 3 pieces, whatever sauce came with it was amazing though. The carnitas here are some of the best carnitas I've ever had in my life. Amazing creative cocktails avaliable. Limited seating so be sure to call and make a reservation, we did, but our seating was quite tight and right next to a large party of women that we didn't know. Chairs were tight and a bit hard to move, not super ideal. It was roughly $160 for a party of 3 (only one drank). The food was amazing though so I would come back! Delicious tacos!!!! so-so drinks and service. Dined here with a party of five -- seated at a comfortable u-shaped table in the corner. It was loud but not unbearable. The baked tortilla chips were clearly made in house. Salsa was just to my taste with a good kick and crisp chunks of onions and peppers. The service was unexceptional. Our server forgot to bring silverware and napkins. A member of our party went to get napkins so that we could dig into the salsa and chips, so then our waiter didn't bring silverware for our entrées. I noticed two (!!) of the tables near us also requesting silverware so maybe they just don't give out silverware unless you ask!? In general our waiter was not super attentive, e.g. did not notice when drinks need to be refilled and also brought the check without asking if we were done. The tacos were some of the best I've had in Denver!!! The shrimp tacos were perfection. Garlic bistek taco contained a beautiful piece of ribeye with chimichurri and cheese. It was very oily but that's what made it delicious. The cauliflower taco was filled with beer battered nuggets of cauliflower and a creamy avo sauce. All delicious! On the other hand I found the menu a bit puzzling- they list single tacos at a very high price- had I not looked at the menu carefully I would have assumed that a $14 order for steak tacos would contain multiple tacos and/or include sides - not just one taco! The drinks were disappointing- I remember having some delicious margaritas here previously, but tonight the sparkling pomegranate was flavorless and a bit watery. They started us off with complimentary chips with salsa and a bean dip. The salsa was nice and spicy and the bean dip was delicious. The margaritas are to die for! You've got to try the cucumber jalapeño margarita, it's a very unique mix of refreshing and spicy. We both ordered specialty tacos with a side of beans and rice. I got the spicy popcorn cauliflower and the sweet potato & black bean tacos. Both were some of the best tacos I've ever had - the cauliflower was crisped to perfection. We made reservations for NYE which also happens to be my boyfriend's birthday. We had THE best time y'all. The margaritas, the tacos, and the chicken tortilla soup were all phenomenal. Our server Oscar was very attentive and helped answer any questions and pointed us in the right direction on the menu. Although honestly I don't think you can make a wrong move. Everything looked incredible. I included a picture of the outdoor dining just because we were curious about it before we showed up. Even though it was 30 degrees outside we were totally fine sitting outside!! It might have been the very nicely poured tequila shots that helped keep us warm but who's to say. This is some of the Bert Mexican food that we've ever had. If you are in the Cherry Creek area of Denver you HAVE to check them out. Stopped in yesterday for happy hour when the need for a Paloma was strong. Tables and folks are socially distanced and they give you a window of time for your stay to keep turning over tables. Our experience was so negative that we left the restaurant without eating. We came for cinco de Mayo for happy hour, to find out that they were not not serving happy hour. We were seated in the bar area where the chairs are backless. I spoke to the hostess to let her know that a woman in our party is pregnant and very politely asked if there was another table with a more comfortable chair because of her back pain. Who would have thought that during an out of town week with great restaurants nightly dotting our meal itinerary that this Mexican joint would provide my favorite meal so far? And yes, it will be tough to beat! First we walk in and there is a beautiful woman singing her heart out for the patrons. Not a bad start. Second, our friendly waiter took drink orders that pleased everyone. The Grande Azul Margarita, while relatively expensive, was absolutely delicious and provided enough drink for a refill. For me it will be a go-to drink upon my return. Finally, after a steak mediocre meal at Elway's last night, "Taco Tuesday" hit the spot. I ordered three off the menu including a Cuban Taco, a shrimp taco dorado and a duck taco. They were each distinct and memorable in their own way. It is tough to pick a favorite. What sticks out the most was a side of sweet corn that the table shared. I swear that the flavor of that corn, supplemented by an exceptional aioli (a little too spicy for some), was one of the best things I have eaten for months. Omg it was crazy good, especially if you like spicy. In summary, Sol is a great Mexican joint that is very reasonably priced with tremendous selection and friendly service. Just happened to try this place on "Taco Tuesday" we were headed towards the Halcyon and decided to stop at Sol instead. Good call weather was great after a long winter, windows open it was incredible. Delicious watermelon margs, friendly service and grilled corn shucked tableside. All for very reasonable prices. Really liked the Denver taco. Reminded me of La Sandia when it first opened. Great food great value. I'm going back :) Machete would be its closest analogue but Sol knocked it out. This is the second time eating here, first time was take-out, last was dining in-person. All the staff were very friendly. My only suggestion would be to improve the cleanliness. We took a while to decide what to eat cause there was a lot on the menu. We also got there during the happy hour specials as well. I had ordered a burrito with a side of rice and cole slaw . I then got the watermelon margarita as well. The drink was amazing . When I got my food it arrived as a quesadilla. The waitress noticed it and checked and realized she put it in incorrectly and offered to go get the correct item. I said no that was fine. We had a really nice evening celebrating a family birthday here this summer. We sat outside on their little make-shift patio, and it was really quite pleasant. Our service was 5 stars! Quick to get drinks, appetizers and food. He let us go at our own pace, and did a nice job of checking in, and helping us with food choices. The food was quite good. We all got different tacos, which were filled with flavor and fresh ingredients. The reason for the 4 stars is really because the patio is just "ok"- for Cherry Creek North, and looking for a nice dinner out, that patio was a little disappointing; however the food and service were perfect! read more

Upscale Mexican food in a contemporary setting with an extensive bar area and cool exhibition kitchen. Unfortunately when we visited for dinner, the live band was so loud that we had to skip the bar and seat on the other side of the restaurant (still very pleasant). As soon as we were seated, we were greeted by a friendly waiter and free chips served with salsa and a bean dip. The dip is a nice addition, especially considering it's free when more and more places charge for boring chips and salsa. The house margarita is good but I liked the Cadillac one a little better simply because I love my drinks more on the sour side. The food was good and portions generous enough. Disappointed. Been here 3 times before - food has always been impressive. The chicken tortilla soup is best ever...very special recipe for sure. But this time it was served in smaller bowl/smaller portion for same price. The good thing is they're still making the soup perfectly. Server asked if wanted sour cream with it on side - said yes. Soup arrived without sour cream. Had to get up, find server and ask for it. Problem: the check had a $2.00 charge for sour cream!! What the...?!! They offer you sour cream with soup YET they don't tell you it'll cost two dollars!! Something is seriously wrong here. Management, poor training is screwing this place up. Just because you have a good kitchen staff/chef it doesn't mean you neglect all the other stuff. Mens room floor was disgusting sticky with every step taken.
