I did a little research before arriving in Denver for places to eat where I could get good green chili and this place seemed to come up decent and not too far from my hotel, so I gave it a try. Upon driving there I was surprised to see it in a very nasty neighborhood, but going inside Sarahi herself took care of me and she was very friendly and helpful. She gave me her story of coming from Mexico, new Puerto Vallarta and bringing her mom's recipes here with her and wanting to open a restaurant where she could share those with others. Her service was great and her cooking was very nice. I got a smothered chicken burrito, which she smothered with her green sauce. The chicken in it was nicely seasoned and the entire burrito was pretty good. The green sauce wasn't "green chili" though, it was a citrus based green sauce. Her salsas were decent, she brought me a regular and a spicy and both had a nice kick to them. In all, I hope she continues to do well, she definitely does a very good job here! read more

Just fine, but if you don't need a sit down service there are a bunch of better options on east Colfax. My parents (ancient Arvada dwellers) wanted to take me to lunch so they picked me up in Park Hill. I had researched a couple places and decided they should experience east Colfax authentic Mexican food. This place has great ratings on Yelp so that's where we headed at about 1pm on a Thursday. The restaurant is definitely big and was empty at 1pm. We were a little worried and I personally hope they do good business, they have a big PA system and full bar so maybe at night it has more customers. Very clean, lots of real plants. We ordered three beef quesabirria taco plate which came with a a really good salsa - I am guessing habanero and maybe peanut or pepita? and of course the beef broth or consomme. These were delicious. Then I wanted my parents to have authentic tacos so we ordered 2 street tacos a piece. Unfortunately they were room temperature hand tortillas and the meat was not even reheated on a grill. The green salsa was good. We also had a couple cucumber-lime aquafrescas which were tasty but $5 a piece. Our waiter was awesome , friendly, and welcoming to us gringos, but he left while we were eating and the other staff guy was more distracted (even though the restaurant was empty) and didn't pay attention until I had to ask loudly "sir sir" and get the check. read more

Very yummy and fresh. Quick service. Delicious pork tamales. Really friendly owner who cooks and services the guests. No one was here! I think it's because of the weird parking. The lot through a gate in the alley is actually the parking. Give them a shot. They'll be serving alcohol shortly with their new license. Great prices. Wonderful cumin-y thin white cheese dip. Spacious and colorful interior. Greeted immediately even while visibly very busy! Really balanced and delicious homemade salsa and warm chips, fully stuffed burrito, perfectly pliable and chewy queso birria tacos, super friendly and caring service. It was all fantastic. The location isn't great because of the sketchy people at the bus stop out front, adjacent parking lot and alley just behind. But that's not the restaurant's fault. Awesome addition to the neighborhood! We stopped in for lunch and we're surprised how big the place is. It's a family owned business, clean and festively decorated with a full bar and they're even set up with a dance floor. The agua frescas are well balanced and not too sweet and you can taste the high quality ingredients in every dish! We had their beef and potato empanadas, flautas and a variety of tacos. Omg the quesabirra - uhhh, I'm drooling just writing about it! Everything was delicious and authentic and the salsas were fire, specifically the spicy one hahaha. All around such a great experience. We had to get a tamale every time she had to get chemo as a reward. Sarahi's is FANTASTIC!! Stopped in because we saw it was new in the 'hood and had a lot of good reviews. SO glad we did! We were greeted warmly by Luis, who took a lot of time explaining the different dishes on the menu. This guy is awesome -- friendly, personable and proud to run this family-owned business. Sarahi is their Mom's name =) Even got some plant-care tips after we complimented him on the many beautiful plants! Oh, my -- not sure where to even begin with the food... The homemade chips, salsa and guac were an amazing start. Fresh and delectable! The red sauce on the enchiladas is nothing short of a work of art. We were scooping up what was left on the plate with the chips to get every last drop. The homemeade tomatillo sauce is a flavor fiesta in your mouth. Sopes and tamales were fantastic. TACO TUESDAY - $1.50!! Yum!!! Sopaipillas right out of the oven were scrumptious...
