Just went here for the first time, and I left very happy. I got the tortilla soup. It was very tasty. My only gripe was that it was FILLED with tortillas. That might sound like a strange complaint, since it is TORTILLA soup. But I'm used to a delicious chicken soup with Mexican flavors and a handful of tortilla strips on top. I think that's the traditional prep, but oh well. They took it back and brought me another one without any questions. Great service. The soup was flavorful, bold, and hearty. Tons of flavor and filled me up. My wife got the two specialty taco dish with a side of beans and rice. The beans and rice were vegetarian, and still absolutely delicious. She got the sweet potato and grilled shrimp tacos. She was generous enough to give me bites of each, and both were delicious. Super flavorful and well crafted. The shrimp one had a grilled taco shell, so it was crunchy and interesting. Overall great experience. A little pricy, but to be expected for a higher end Mexican place in Cherry Creek. read more

Although SOL has a really great ambiance and we had a personable, attentive server, we were left feeling unimpressed. The food was way overpriced relative to the quality and quantity. Specifically, we felt the guac lacked flavor, the tacos were cold and small, and the fajita chicken was over seasoned and dry. The drinks were also a little pricey and seemed diluted. I don't think we'd go again when there are plenty of other Mexican options in Denver. read more

Excellent sol Guacamole served w chopped mango. I had the Spanish Octopus which was different than I have had before. It had a red sauce with Spanish green olives. Everything was of good quality. The shrimp dorado taco was excellent. Order a three taco plate! The only problem was I'm not sure they cleaned the table between parties. The last bill and a menu were left on the table. I asked twice if it was clean. No one seemed to recognize it. The gal that waited on us was good. We will check it out again. read more

Sol has a relaxed, upscale vibe with awesome margs. I had a blackberry marg that I couldn't put down (okay so maybe 2 of them)! The food is overall great. We started with a specialty guacamole, recommended by our server, that had goat cheese and mango in it. Sounds a little weird but seriously the best guacamole I've ever had. My salmon kale salad was really good but the salmon was a bit overcooked. Service was top notch! "Tall Zach" was our server and I've actually had him as my server twice. He is attentive, thoughtful, very knowledgeable with respect to Sol's offerings, and friendly with a warm demeanor. I would definitely recommend asking for his section if possible. Overall, wonderful experience both times I've dined here and I will absolutely be back for more yummy guac and margs. read more

Nice to dine at an upscale restaurant with very good Mexican cuisine. We were especially pleased to know they had a vegan/vegetarian menu. As others have noted, the pre-meal salsa and bean dips with chips were excellent as well (also vegan). Equally as pleasant was the service. We were a party of 12 and Anna did a fantastic job attending to our varied needs and desires. To top it off, she had the greatest earrings which matched her personality. Still love it. As mentioned my go to is the chicken tortilla soup. Truly the best I have had in Denver. I have also come to love the short rib taco as the flavors are on point and cooked magnificently. The goat cheese and mushroom chorizo appetizers are good, but not a highlight. I have eaten here 3 times, and the first two times were ok (enough to go back other times). But the last time on 12/31/23 was beyond bad. The service was almost nonexistent even after asking several times for refills, additional drinks, set ups for food that had already been delivered to the table, etc. The thing that really bothered me was when I was leaving, I stopped at the hostess desk to tell them my issues. There were 3-4 people there and the only reaction I got was blank stares...no apology, no one asked where I was sitting, who my waitperson was etc. This will be the last time I'll spend money there. There was a marble in one of the tacos served to our table. We brought this to our server's attention. She removed that taco from our bill and told us that the kitchen was now directed to "be more careful." I was pretty grossed out and could not finish my meal. Restaurant kitchens should be scrupulously clean, especially during a pandemic. I feel that the manager should have come over and dealt with the situation, but no one ever showed up. In a neighborhood like the one this restaurant is situated in (most upscale in Denver) they can't hope to get away with this sort of thing and survive. read more

I went back to Sol recently and had an amazing experience. Lee was our server and he was incredibly attentive and personal. I dont know that I've ever had a waiter ask about our prefered flavor profiles and make recommendations based on them. Ultimately I ordered the King Samon, which was insane. Often times you might get something that's dry, where it lacks flavor, or both. This wasn't that! It had an awesome grill flavor, was cooked perfectly, and the tomatillo sauce and roasted red peppers paired perfectly! Our drinks were also great. All in all we had a great experience! read more

Stumbled upon this restaurant while walking to a different one we had reservations at. After seeing the outdoor seating and amazing chips and salsa, we decided to eat at SOL. We're so glad we did! We had laughed with Savannah about how yummy it would be with the eggs next morning! Hmmmm....can we order a side of it next time just to take home??? Went here for dinner a couple weeks ago and loved it! I had made reservations (it was a Friday) and was seated right away. When you're seated you get chips, salsa, and a super amazing bean dip. It's all tasty stuff! The drinks are great. I ordered my invention ("Sunshine" - Tito's, soda water, splash of OJ) and it was perfect :) I had the butternut squash tacos with rice and beans on the side and loved my meal! I made a note that I was vegan and the server ensured my dish was prepared that way (I can't remember if they normally are vegan or come with cheese, but side of beans and rice are). I highly recommend that dish - the spices were perfect and I didn't realize how much I'd love butternut squash in a taco. The server was helpful and sweet. Like...it's not the worst? I guess? The sol ceviche is quite good. I'll give them that. But my coin style margarita tasted like cotton candy. It was a deeply unsettling experience. Also, the carnitas street tacos were just bland crock pot pork loin with some diced onion. Which had been sitting in their own sauce for a while because the tortillas fell apart when I picked them up. Not great, Bob. The chile relleno was passable at best. I've walked by this place so many times and thought "that place looks good; I should try it!" but now I wish I hadn't. read more
