Met a friend for dinner at Sol, and have to say I was pretty disappointed. I ordered the 6 street tacos and some corn that was supposed to prepared table side. My friend ordered a regular entree. When the food arrived, my friend got her entree but I only received three taco's. When the waitress came to check on us I asked her what happened to the other three. She apologized for the mistake and offered to put the order in for the remaining taco's. I didn't want my friend to wait so I said I'd just keep what I had. I also asked about the corn that hadn't arrived. Again she apologized as they were busy and she'd check on it. Sometime later, after I was just about finished the corn arrived. The corn was really good, but it would have been nice if it had arrived with the rest of the food. I thought the taco's were ok, the corn was great, but the whole thing was awkward with the the order being messed up. Might have been nice if they had offered a free drink, or taken something off the bill, but I certainly did not ask for anything nor was anything offered. If anything it cost me more per taco because of the way they charged it. I doubt that I'll go back and I can't recommend based on my experience. read more

I unfortunately did not have a great first experience at SOL this past weekend. While the chips, Guacamole Sol and margaritas were very good, the food was kind of "meh." For me in particular, I ordered the TJ Caesar Salad and added shrimp. However, when my food arrived, two out of the four shrimp on my plate were still very very uncooked and inedible. I showed them to my server, and she took them back to the kitchen to be re-grilled, but I of course ended up having to wait a while for them to be fully cooked through. Overall, the rest of my group seemed to enjoy their food and drinks, but I was pretty turned off from my own meal. The chips and salsa at the beginning are delightful. It was a tossup on what to order but the waitress suggested the tacos. The butternut squash taco is the best vegetarian taco I've ever had and so perfect for the Fall! I would highly recommend anyone trying this - the butternut squash is roasted with a chili sauce (not spicy) with crunchy red onions on top. Finish with the perfect night cap of chamomile tea with Grand Marnier and 1921 Crema tequila. The nightcap drink was so fabulous I went to Argonauts and bought 1921 Crema so I can make this drink at home. Service was great which is becoming more rare to find. read more

We had dinner here last night and the food was excellent. We shared the sweet grilled corn and ceviche SOL which were both amazing! We had the taco vampiro (their specialty) and the filet and shrimp el jefe. Both very tasty. The menu notes melted cheese in some items but it is very subtle and does not drown out the other flavors. I can vouch for the blackberry margarita. Not too sweet or tart and quite refreshing. So if the food and margs were so spectacular, why just four stars? Service was not great. We arrived at 6:00 and it wasn't busy but service was slow. It took a while for our server to show up and then he disappeared for a long time before returning for our drink orders and again before we ordered food. We had to ask several times for more chips (the chips are these awesome dried tortillas that you break apart to dip). Fortunately, they had runners to bring us our food when it was ready. It's a little pricey for tacos but I would probably return and would recommend to others. read more

We love the food. We were regulars at the CA location so we were excited to find another location when moving to CO. TLDR: decent food, pretty good margs, and the best tortilla soup. Service is terrible (aside from Rudy). Every other server has been condescending, gets our order wrong, and then says that there's nothing they can do. We tried delivery tonight. They left out half of our order. When I called, the hostess answered saying oh that's not our problem... When I said that it probably should matter as we're their customers, she was very rude and pretentious, and blew it all off. It's a bummer that people act without common decency and respect while genuine people would die to have their jobs. read more

I hate leaving bad reviews but this is a must. My partner and I found SOL for Taco Tuesday (7/26/22), and we just had to try it based on what we saw from the website. I made a reservation and we arrived. The hostess had total RBF and her expression never changed. I felt like saying, "if you're here against your will, blink twice". Anyway, we get seated and everything on the menu sounds wonderful, so here we go. My partner ordered the watermelon margarita and said it was just ok. I had a glass of wine from the Taco Tuesday menu and it was surprisingly good. The waiter brings us chips, a black bean dip, and salsa. The chips were hot (temperature), which I like and they were dusted with some seasoning, but they lacked flavor. The salsa had a nice heat to it, but again, lacked seasoning. It definitely could have used salt! The black bean dip was just the same, completely bland. We expressed our displeasure to the waiter and he brought over some salt, chile de arbol sauce, and limes. I worked rather hard to try and get the sauces to some level of enjoyment. Sadly, it didn't work! We then ordered the guacamole and shrimp cucarachas. They were promptly delivered to the table. I did the taste test on the guacamole and as I feared, it too lacked seasoning. I took what I had at the table and attempted to make it edible, but there was nothing I could do with what I had. We then try the shrimp. First, just so everyone is aware, these are head-on shrimp. The menu doesn't state that! The shrimp were completely under seasoned like the rest of the food. At this point, my partner and I were completely disgusted. We didn't eat any of our food. I called the waiter over and expressed our displeasure and simply confessed the food was not edible, we had no desire to stay at the restaurant, and we were not going to pay for the food either. I told him we would be happy to pay for the drinks but that was it. At this point, our drinks were the highlight of the meal! If I'm being honest, I do not know how SOL is getting any good reviews. Maybe the tacos are really good, but sadly I will never know. We will never go back! Sorry SOL, I wanted you to win this one! Oh, and for everyone wondering, their website says they have patio seating. Be aware, they do not! All dining is truly indoors. They have an area with huge windows that open to make it patio-esq, but no actual outdoor seating. FYI! read more

Absolute lovely brunch! The mimosa bottle with fresh juices was a delight and the chilaquiles (add carnitas) was to DIE for. The interior and exterior of the building is chic and welcoming. Thomas was our server and was incredibly kind and informative about the entire menu and was such a sweetheart. My family and I went here today and sat at our table for 25 minutes without a server even coming to our table to bring water or chips. We asked 4 employees if a server was coming and then I spoke to the manager, Kevin Barker who gave two craps and was extremely checked-put and rude. We left and will never come back here. read more

I went to sol cocina yesterday after work with a few friends and we tried a few of their cocktails! Along with their complimentary chips and dip which was so delicious! The Pineapple and vanilla infused tequila martini was beautiful! It was a Nice touch with the vanilla beans and pineapple sticking out. The Blackberry ginger margarita, I got it with the sugar rim. This was delicious and very fruity. The Strawberry basil martini which "tastes like strawberry heaven" A glass of mer soleil chardonnay which was very well balanced. Last but no least the Frozen margarita with strawberry! This was by far my favorite! Made me feel like I was on vacation in Mexico. Thank to creg our waiter! read more

I don't recommend getting helped by Candace. It was very disappointing of how uncomfortable I felt coming to this restaurant. The food was great and it was a different experience but I wish I had the service like the other people mentioned in the reviews before mine. Please hire more non white people as servers. All I saw in this restaurant was white servers and host/hostess as the face of the restaurant when this restaurant is bringing a taste of Baja Mexican cuisine. By the way Candace should be patient if non English speakers come to this restaurant and order food in Spanish as the menu has items ALL in Spanish. So many issues today at the Denver location. First of all, with Covid, we're all encouraged to support restaurants and buy gift cards. Nice idea, but it falls apart when the staff don't know how to handle them! For this visit, I won't bother with the delay in getting water, chips, etc. My biggest issue is that I ordered a salad with 'grilled fish' for an additional 6.50. The salad comes; no dressing; no avocado; and the fish is salmon. Salmon is fine except it's listed separately for $10. The bill comes, and my additional cost was $12. I point it out to the waiter who tells me he 'rung it in as salmon'. Really?? Didn't offer to do anything about it, so I took the difference out of his tip. Was it a sly and intentional up-sell, or was it a simple mistake. I'll let you decide. The Scottsdale location is great, but this experience at the Denver location is so disappointing, I may tell my friend to no longer buy me gift cards to Sol. We can try other places. read more

YES! Just yes. From the moment you walk in SOL is an awesome experience. I like starting with their complimentary chips, salsa and black bean dip and an Organic Slim Margarita. For an appetizer I love the street corn (it's a must for me every visit) and as far as entrees go...you can't go wrong. I love their spice roasted butternut squash taco as well as the sweet potato & black bean burrito. On the weekends they also have a great brunch menu with awesome cocktails. This is my Sunday go to. I was so excited to celebrate my birthday here and it was seriously the worst service I've ever experienced, wish I could give ZERO stars. The drinks took at least 20 min to be delivered and everyone who didn't order a cocktail which was majority of the table, received their drinks in tiny plastic cups because they were "out of regular glasses" ??? And one drink was forgotten all together through out the entire meal. I'd happily have ordered more cocktails if I didn't have to wait my whole meal for one drink. I'm not sure you could call it a meal, $20 for tiny little tacos, but that's besides the point. I can handle a mediocre meal but the service was unacceptable. When we asked about the items on the menu and for recommendations he was zero help, he actually said a few dishes we asked about "sucked and lacked in flavor." He didn't even deliver our drinks from the bar, I'm sure they sat there until the manager realized they should have been delivered ages ago. There was no recognition it was a birthday celebration despite gifts on the table. Just not what I expected from a nice restaurant in cherry creek. I'd have had better food and service at Taco Bell. I live in cherry creek and am a former regular--not anymore. A friend and I stopped by for drinks and got a bill for a $22 basic margarita and $20 Sauvignon Blanc that was house--we questioned the bill. Food: The food was expensive but it was very very good. It made paying $40 for 6 tacos worth it. I would give the food close to 5 stars because it's hard to find vegan/vegetarian tacos. They were delicious and I appreciated that. Service (the reason for the 3 stars): The hostess was extremely rude to us. She wasn't very welcoming and kind of banished us to our seats. Our waiter (Tall with shaggy hair) did not give us any attention (mind you we are very low maintenance) and we had to get up and ask for the basics (water and napkins). The food is delicious and the service is good. BUT I would not recommend this place for large groups. We booked a reservation for 12 people and they would not let us move forward on the reservation until we spoke with an event coordinator. The event coordinator said we could use the private room and they would not keep hold us to the minimums since the private room is almost always open during brunch. We were warned that they would not do split checks and there would be a 22% gratuity added. But when we receive the bill we were also hit with a 5% admin fee for using the private room. The manager was not willing to work with us on the 5% admin fee and told us in the future that we should not go through the event coordinator we should've just made reservations for 12. Their point of sale billing system is very convoluted and really screwed up our bill. After we paid the 8% tax, 5% admin fee and 22% tip (which came to 35% per person added to the bill) we ended up with bills with cross outs all over it and the manager standing over our shoulder to make sure that three of the girls added $20 to each of their bills to ensure everything was aid in full. At the end of the day the waitresses is going to end up with $40 to $50 extra dollars (beyond her 22% gratuity) in her pocket because of the money others of us had already added. The manager was very rude and we asked him multiple times if he would just waive the 5% admin fee since we were not aware of it and would not have booked the private room because we did not need it. He told us that he could possibly refund it later in the day after he spoke to his event coordinator, but since we did not book a reservation through him, the general manager, we would not be he would not be able to waive the fee for us. The food was really good... But please do not go there if you have a group who is going to want to pay with more than one credit card! read more

We had a horrible experience at this restaurant. We have been going every year for the last 3 years on Christmas Day and usually get the private room without any issues. I called to confirm we were getting the private room again because it is a family tradition at this restaurant. The lady that answered confirmed that it's available for us. When we got there they took us to a regular table and I talked to the manager and she said it's $1000 to sit in the private room. What the heck it's crazy they would ask for $1000 to to book it and not count towards your food. We sat down and I immediately started looking for another restaurant which we couldn't find any til the evening and it was 3:30 the second manager came to talk to us and said she couldn't move us because corporate wouldn't allow her it's crazy I work with marketing and our customers come first especially because we confirmed twice that it was available for us. She offered us 2 free guacs for the chaos. We ordered street corn for appetizers and a few minutes later we are told they are out of street corn and couldn't make us our appetizers. We then ordered our food 2 waygu steaks and a relleno was part of our order. The waitress comes back and guess what yes they are out of steaks ‍ how !! They also sent out a plain relleno because they were out of the corn and whatever else comes with it. It was a horrible experience. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. It's pretty sad because it was a tradition for our family. They are greedy asking for $1000 which they never mentioned and they were out of lots of food that was on their menu. Go to a real mexican restaurant where the managers are better and understanding. We spent close to $700 on terrible service. Lesson learned. Last piece of advice call and ask if they have the food you are going to order because like I said earlier they were out of most of all the food we ordered. read more
