Worst manicure ever! I'm six months pregnant and the manicurist was torturing me cutting my cuticles way too short and buffing them aggressively with dirty used files. By the last nail she cut off the entire cuticle bed and I was actively bleeding. She administered something to stop the bleeding then slathered me in scented lotion. I said we are done here and when I went to pay was charged full price for the carnage she had administered. I sincerely hope that I don't get an infection but it seems that will be inevitable because of their unsafe and unsanitary practices. When asked why I was being charged full price, I was told that the price is the same with or without polish. I told her I was not happy with the service and that I was afraid of getting an infection and she told me bleeding was standard. read more

This place is ok! I was visiting my boyfriends family in Albany and really needed a place to get my nails done before a wedding. I called and was immediately offered a time slot for a gel mani and pedi. I walked in and there was only one other customer in there so they do mandate social distancing and wearing masks so that's good because it felt really clean inside. One cool thing about this place is that they don't do acrylics! They are really eco friendly so I thought that was unique. As for how my nails turned out...I really didn't like it. My nails were not evenly shaped so some were much longer than others and the nail polish coating was very sloppy...there were bumps all over the nails and it just wasn't clean. Plus while filing my nails the tech really hurt me and I started bleeding. If I am going to spend about 80 dollars I would want a good job done...but for service wise they are 5/5. read more

had a bad experience here. A woman came in who did not have an appointment while I was being serviced and demanded that she be taken care of. The customer was smoking in the salon, and put out her cigarette in a trash can with extremely flammable used cotton balls. The customer harrassed me and another customer verbally because .....'she wasn't included in our conversation". It was so uncomforable the pollice were called. Nothing was done. The owner did not take any action in getting her removed from the Salon. I came here on a whim looking for a new nail salon;and when Groupon had a Shellac mani and pedi deal, I said sure why not? The pedicure was mediocre; however I did like the hot stones, but my manicurist seemed to randomly rub them on my skin with zero enthusiasm. Then came the Shellac manicure. Huge disappointment. I've gotten many Shellac manicures before, and this one had to the the worst. The whole process was completely unprofessional, starting from the removal of my old polish to the application. I brought my own CND Shellac nail polish remover wraps, and the woman had no idea how to use them. I explained to her how to wrap them, and that the wraps were made by the same company that made Shellac. She completely ignored my request; saying her method was more efficient and proceeded to soak my hands in hot acetone. The whole process smelled horrible and the bowl of hot water was not safely balanced on the armrest of the spa chair. In the end, I was left with dry fingers and burns. The application was process was even worse. I felt rushed the entire time. The heavyset woman doing my nails painted them as if she was using regular nail polish. She did not seal the tips, which prevents the polish from peeling. Also, unlike most salon that has timed UV lamps, she just left the UV lamps on and had me stick in one hand while she did the other and then switched again. My nails were maybe under the lamp for one minute. To top it all off, she DID NOT give me a massage! I loved watching the client next to me enjoy her massage while I was just rushed through my manicure. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND UNPROFESSIONAL! Fantastic salon. Appointment recommended - they usually have 2-3 techs working and I always watch them have to turn down walk ins. This is the most thorough nail salon I have ever been to. I almost felt guilty that the pedicure was only $32. At no time did I feel like the service was being rushed or sloppy. The techs are friendly and will chat if you want to chat, otherwise allow you to relax and enjoy. This is my second visit - the first was for two mani pedis. I brought my mom along and we each had a different tech but same results - thorough and well done pedicures and manicures that lasted longer than any mani pedi we've ever had before. I brought my partner back today for pedicures and was so impressed it wasn't a one off - another thorough and well done pedicure. The hot stone pedicure is their "base" pedicure, and so worth the extra $12 as compared to the regular pedicure you can get for $20 up the street. The techs take their time to really give your lower extremities a nice massage and the hot stones are so relaxing. Normal exfoliation and moisturizer afterwards. They did not ever put me under UV lights to dry and instead allowed the nails to dry naturally which I found interesting, but I did also notice they really plug being a healthier nail salon and carry Zoya brand polishes, which are less detrimental to your health than regular polishes. Overall RECOMMEND - do yourself a favor and make an appointment to treat yo self! Almost forgot to add - my manicure and my mom's lasted for almost a full week without major chipping or bubbling. An hour and twenty minutes in, I asked how much longer they thought it would take. My nail tech told me it would be forty minutes. TWO HOURS to take off dip powder and then put on a simple pink color. I explained that I didn't think it would take two hours and really needed to go soon. My nail tech did not listen and kept on performing at the pace of molasses. I finally had to ask them to stop filing my nails because it was taking so long. It's now two hours and ten minutes later and I am waiting for the top coat to dry, but not after my nail tech began to file down AN EXPOSED NAIL BED OF MINE that she thought was ????? just skin ????? I've been coming to this nail salon for a while now but after my experience today, I'm really disappointed. I wanted a gel manicure and I picked out the prettiest glitter color. It looked great on the sample but I was worried it wouldn't look the same on my nails, so I specified that I wanted my nails to look super glittery- NOT sheer. I made this clear many times. When the manicurist started doing my nails, I noticed that she was applying the THINEST coats ever. After two coats she said "okay done" and I spoke up again after stating that they weren't glittery enough like I wanted. I showed her the sample nail again and told her I wanted my nails to look like that. The manicurist simply shrugged and I asked if she could do another quote. Long story short, I left with my nails looking like this. Extremely sheer and not like the sample at all. Some of my nails aren't properly painted, lumpy, and I'm overall unhappy. I spoke up multiple times and I left unsatisfied with my nails. Sloppy work but it was not expensive: $25 for a mani-pedi. I had to really hound the girls to do a half decent job. My top coat of polish doesn't even extend all the way out, just a blob sitting on top of the bottom coat. God knows what insults they were lashing out at me to each other in Vietnamese. read more

It must have been a really off day today because I didn't experience any of the awesomeness the other reviewers experienced. I came in for the $25 mani/pedi special. Sat in the chair for 10 minutes soaking my feet before another nail tech came in. From there she started the most lazy pedicure over ever had. Less than 30 seconds with the scrubber, no foot massage...just paraffin wax. The manicure was mediocre at best. The paint isn't clean along the edges and she used her nail to wipe away the paint on my skin, no acetone whatsoever. I'm really embarrassed with the paint job as it looks like I did it myself haphazardly. I guess it serves me right for not waiting an extra day for my usual nail gal at another salon. She did a great job on the polish and wasn't rushing like other nail salons. I almost gave four stars because my one nail wasn't straight, but she noticed and fixed it and i didn't even have to mention it. So they deserved the 5 stars. My pedi lady did great as well and man that foot rub was on point and was by far the longest I've ever had at any salon. They took their time and for once i didn't want to hurry and finish... i wanted more of that foot rub. So i had to give 5 stars for my overall experience. Unfortunately, I live in SF so unless I'm in the area I wont be able to come by or become a regular. But if I'm in need of a mani ped and i am in the area i will def be going there again. Found a Groupon for a shellac nail and spa pedicure for $20, like many reviewers. It was easy to make an appointment on short notice. Came in on a lazy Sunday afternoon and picked out the colors I wanted. For the shellac, they can't use the polishes on the wall so they try to match it with the color you want. My toes came out fine but the nail colors weren't exactly what I wanted. On top of that, the shellac started peeling and chipping by the second day! Last time I got one, it lasted 2 weeks. So sad... :( The service was really excellent and I want to like this place but the quality of the shellac just doesn't do it for me. read more

Came here on a Tuesday evening from work in SF, unfortunately my nail shop was closed (Bebe in Albany) so I decided I would go to this place because they were the only ones open and willing to take me (and that's where my two stars come from) however , I was charged 41$ for GEL NAILS, A FILL, and A COLOR CHANGE. There were only two girls working and they showed me to a seat. The girl started asking me what color I wanted after I looked at the gel nails and made my selection. After I told her I wanted a color to match my hands and feet she started picking colors off the wall asking me if it looked like the color I had chosen for my nails. I was a little confused,but sometimes they pick dam good colors that match and you can't tell the difference from your hands and feet, but unfortunately I'm picky so I prefer the exact match, not a look alike-again they (usually already have the matching color for the toes so I was confused why she was asking me if it matched let alone picking colors. She was about to start painting my nails with out even asking if I wanted them cut down or even filed ! You cant paint toes that obviously need to be cut down at least ask ! I had to tell her to cut and file and she didn't even clean under them ugh! The 2nd girl started working on my hands while in the pedi chair -I had a nail that was lifting under and she didn't bother to clean under my nails let alone apply glue on the nail that was lifting -no attention to detail. 3 days later and now my toe polish is already pealing off!! Are you kidding me? 41$ this should have lasted much longer I'm so disappointed and would never return I'm going to my nail shop to get the color removed and re done by people who know what they are doing and care about customer relations - completely unacceptable Ps. 45$ will get you a fill, color change and gel nails AND a pedicure check out Bebe nails in Albany next to the old use to be sizzler :-) great work last me one month read more

This is hands down the best nail salon I've ever been too. I was weary at first because the decor is super simple. But they offer a $35 deluxe pedicure that is life changing. It includes a sugar scrub, massage, mask, parafin wax treatment, and more. Also, I have never had my eyebrows done so precisely and with such care every single time. The brow waxing is not quick but it is so quality. You couldn't get more quality if you paid $100. I go in every two weeks and get the deluxe pedicure, eyebrow and lip wax and tip 25% and it's still only $62.50 per session. I am in love with this place. I left feeling so relaxed and in love with how great my feet and hands looked. They do this hot wax thing on your feet that was my absolute favorite.
