When I'm not sure whether to say "ahh" or "ouch", I usually consider that a great massage. I like the hurt, and it makes me feel like I'm actually paying for something. We walked in with no appointment on a late Saturday night and we were immediately taken back. My massage started by laying on a flat, cushioned table, with my knees just off the edge so that my feet would soak in some hot water. I was covered in towels & blankets, so I was very cozy and almost fell asleep immediately. They did some shoulder, scalp, face, and hand massage while my feet soaked. Then I got about 30-40 minutes of foot massage. The foot massage had great pressure. Lastly, I flipped on my stomach for a quick back massage. Wow. As I mentioned, I was partially in so much pain it was tough to enjoy. I really had to breathe through some of the massage. It was almost to a point where I had to ask them to reduce the pressure. But at the same time, I loved it!! My back was a little sore the next day. Overall a really good experience. I didn't see any female therapists, although I'm sure they have them, maybe just have to call ahead if that's your preference. I'll definitely be bringing friends here soon! read more

This is such a hidden little gem! My friend and I went on a whim today to check how it was and WOW this was amazing for the inexpensive pricing! Massage: I had Lee take care of me today and he has very strong arms! The 1 hour foot reflexology included a soak in plain warm water (wear stretchy pants!) and started off with a head massage. They work from head down to the feet and then back up. There were points where it hurt because he was loosening up my knots but it was a good kind of pain. **5/5** Service: There were a few times Lee and the other guy who massaged my friend would exchange words so if that ruins your immersion in the experience then I would go by yourself. Besides that, they were very sweet and made sure that everything was okay for us. **4/5** Environment: It was nice and small and very dark which made it relaxing. Hard to tell about the sanitary conditions but they gave us fresh towels and the tubs were lined with plastic bags that were disposed of afterwards. **4/5** My friend and I agreed that this will be our new place from now on so I would recommend this to most people! read more

I have been to this place 15-20 times in the last two years. Although it started out well it has consistently gone downhill since, and I have just visited Sole Therapy for the last time. 1 of 5 stars represents the chances you have at getting a masseuse who knows what they are doing. After visiting 15-20 times, I am confident when I say there are maybe 2 or 3 people in here who know what they are doing. If you get one of them, you get way more than your moneys worth. If you don't, you are getting ripped off. The last 3 times I've been I was serviced by somebody who probably came off the street and had no clue what they were doing. Wow. Can't complain about this place at all. Yes, it's a little sketchy when you first go in, but you are quickly taken to a seat to get your service started. I've only gone for the full body massages, but it's totally worth it for the price. They usher you to the bed/ table where you lay down and get a full back massage done. You take off your shoes and then they immediately start. They do use hot stones as part of the treatment. I'd say they do massage pretty hard, but that's my preferred style as my back is super tense. They will always check in with you to make sure you're okay. Overall for the service and price you can't go wrong! read more

1st time in today with a friend and she treats us to a combo session that starts off with a chair massage that is happening in the reception/waiting area, with phones ringing, clients in and out of the front door and staff conversing. Not very quiet or relaxing and the massages were very deep and aggressive like sports massage without asking for it. Ouch and lots of bruises also the massage techs are not conversing with us, only with each other. Double ouch. Friend couldn't take the noise/pain and asked to stop and continue in the quiet room for the full body rub and foot rub. When I was finished with the chair, I told my tech that I had never done this before hoping she would explain the next portion, she just said to lay down. My tech coughed and sniffled through the entire service from the chair to the bed and didn't speak more than 3 words to me. Great concept, bad follow through and please insist on your techs staying home when they're sick. Whether it's contagious or not, it's just unacceptable for a service industry worker to service clients while they're sick. I'm a hairstylist of 20+ years and that situation sucks whether it's the tech that's sick or the client. Either way it's just bad business. read more

Every time someone passed by she had to talk to them and felt like she didn't put any effort into my massage because she was too busy chatting it up. The hubby and I come here whenever we need a massage and we both come away well pummeled :) Pro- I have never had the same masseuse but all of them have been consistently good. The interior is quiet and relaxing and while it's not super chic, the place gets the job done. Prices are reasonable and they will do their best to fit you in but definitely get a reservation if possible. *Tip get the foot bath massage (I can't remember the exact title, but it's deceiving anyway) they give a you a full body massage while your feet relax in water and then they work your legs and feet too! Con- The massage tables actually hurt my back when I am laying down which is sadly counterproductive and the reason for 4 stars instead of five. Wifey and I had been yelping our way through late-night spa reviews and were very nearly about to head to King Spa, when we saw this little golden nugget of massage majesty. Things to know: 1. It cost $35 for the hour long massage/foot reflexology 2. Keep yer clothes on 3. You're in a darkish, public room on custom massage tables 4. Looks are no indication of strength. as any one of them can reach in an pull your spine out. Of course they won't. Too much. I have what most masseurs would call a "challenging" body. I like to think of myself as muscular and "broadly athletic", but they probably think, "really tall hobbit". That being said, my dude was relentless, and apparently, while I face-down on the table, he was alternating with another masseuse, to make sure the pressure stayed up -- freakin' awesome when I wasn't tearing up a little. With literally zero expectations of how it was going to go, I was pleasantly surprised upon opening the door to a serene and relaxing atmosphere immediately. The lobby has a fountain and leather couches, with a dimly lit place to wait for your massage. The actual massage room is very chilled out, dark, with multiple beds. The masseuse was really nice and even asked if the pressure was too much or not. I had some knots like whoa and after the 60 min's I felt incredible. I was a skeptic about a massage place in a strip mall, and also about the quality of a massage while fully clothed...but this is the real deal, owned by people who take their business very seriously. What a great thing to do for yourself! This massage shop does Chinese Foot Massage, an hour-long massage for $35. English is navigated, but not very deeply. My massage person didn't understand that I wanted a full hour, at least not at the beginning. It took some work on my part to communicate. We got there! She did a great job working all the pressure points on my feet and shins. Part of the hour massage is some neck, back and shoulder massage. They also do chair massage and traditional full-body massages. They are open until 11 at night, so it is possible to finish work for the day, get in a workout and then go get a massage. His is NOT your typical massage place. It's marketed as a foot reflexology center but they do an almost full body massage along with your foot massage. Let me lay it out for you. You go in and say what you want, I chose the 60mins for $35. They lead you into a semi darkened room and lay you down on a low massage table with your feet dangling off one end. Your massage therapist will ask what level of pressure you want and then will go off to fetch a bucket of warm water for your feet. While your feet soak they will massage your face arms and hands. Then they will get after your feet. At this point I thought it was over. But NO! They had me flip over to my stomach and did a nice massage on my shoulders and back. You're completely clothed during the whole thing and my guy made sure that if my shirt got out of hand he smoothed it back where it belonged. It was a great massage and I can't believe I haven't been back yet! read more

Tip: Do not speak. Seriously, don't make a sound. Go in, point to what you'd like, keep your keys from jingling while you walk to your massage table, lay down, and just relax. I'm sure you do more than enough talking during your day. Won't it be nice to be able to go somewhere and say absolutely nothing? You also won't disturb your fellow massage-goers. From the moment you walk in, the current mid-massage customers can hear everything that you do, so don't do much of anything. I went in at 10PM for a 60 minute back massage. I was expecting only my back to be massaged, but it's really full body - everything except for your feet. After the back portion, I thought that my time was up. But really, the best had yet to come... they work your face & every part of you. Legs stretched vertically off of the table, thighs pounded, I loved it. 5 stars if it weren't for the layout of the spa. The massage area is right by the front door & lobby. If it's not the noise from someone coming in, it's the noise from the street. It can be a little bit of a distraction from you trying to fully relax, but the soothing music they play aides with the outside noise a lot. Skilled staff & professional environment. I love foot reflexology massages!! We were all set to book our usual Body and Sole appointment in Richardson, but then I ran across the great reviews for this place, which was a bit closer to my house. The chairs are arranged lengthwise so you can't really be "next to" anyone. So, we had our massages at the same time but I was at the front of the main room, and my friend was in another recessed "room" in the back away from everyone else. So, that was a little bit disappointing, as at Body and Sole you can be right next to your companion, and at the other place we go next to La Me on Walnut & Abrams (I'll have to look up the name so I can write a review), they actually even have a couples room (for only $29/hr!) Anyhoo, I didn't care that much, especially once the massaging started. One thing I like about this place is they start on your face and scalp while your feet are soaking. (At Body and Sole, they leave you to soak your feet for the first 10 minutes of your hour, so I always feel a little cheated of time.) So that's a plus, and then once she did start on my feet, I'd say I got one of the best foot massages I've ever had. Both masseuses did a really good job. At this point, I was ready to give five stars, but I'm going to stick with just four because the back massage was not great. I did enjoy their cool massage chairs that you can sit in and then flip over and they recline it all the way back and it's a massage chair with the face hole and everything. The chairs are very comfortable and clean. But yeah, the back massage was not great, just ok. Agree with the comments on ambiance, I'm used to reflexology places being like this (people everywhere, cheesy music, you can hear people talking) so it was about what I expected. As long as you don't expect a fancy secluded spa atmosphere, you'll be fine. I did bring my own music for the foot massage portion, but for the face & back massage portions I took off my headphones and just listened to their instrumental movie themes :) I'd definitely come here for more foot massages but I'm still on the lookout for that perfect place! read more

The saying "you get what you pay for" definitely applies here. This also goes to show you, reviews can be misleading, as they were my primary reason for coming to this torture chamber. So let's start off by saying, I was coming here for a foot massage. What I left with was tightness, pain and spasms in my lower back that I still have issues with to this day. After arriving, they escort you to a dark area, that is wide open. NO PRIVACY! but I'm thinking "I'm getting a foot massage, whatevs." what began as relaxing and enjoyable, soon became a painful nightmare. The Asian dude working me is cranking on the bottom of my feet with what felt like brass knuckles. It did not feel good and I let him know it. However that did not stop him, as I don't think he spoke English. Also...I don't think he knew what the hell he was doing. After the agonizing "foot rub" was over he had me lie face down into what was some type of convertible chair/table. This is when it got much worse. Now I don't want to get off sounding like some pussy, because I'm not...and maybe if I wouldn't have allowed this beating, I wouldn't be in my current situation. I get worked on regularly by an actual massage therapist, so I know what feels good and what my body can take. This guy proceeded to beat the crap out of my mid/low back area with lots of pressure. During the "massage" it felt like he was using his entire body weight focusing it using his elbow directly into my soft tissue and spine. Not good, and not my idea of a relaxing or enjoyable. I stopped in again last night for much needed TLC for my weary feet. After spending 12 hours at NorthPark Center working a fundraiser, I felt like I was rode hard and put up wet. When I walked in the staff were all sitting in the front room chatting as there were no other customers. Who I assume is the manager jumped up and way, WAY, too enthusiastically asked me if I was just getting off of work and what service I wanted. And I mean way, WAY, WAAAAAY too enthusiastically. I had a young man named David perform my foot massage. I was neither more or less impressed over the last time. It certainly made my feet feel a million times better, but it isn't an earth moving experience as some massages can be. Part of me says I should rate them another star as it is a business I will return to again and again. Upside: 1) Very fair price for the skill and quality of service. 2) Super comfy and clean chairs. Really adds to the relaxation factor. 3) Skilled staff. I've been a handful of times now, am always satisfied and never feel that one experience is less than another. 4) Open late... I believe until 11pm. The good: Based on the massage alone, I would have given this place 5 stars. I went in with an awfully sore back from riding my horse and lifting patients at my job, but 60 minutes at this place alleviated all of that soreness for an excellent price ($35). The bad: I called a day ahead of time to make an appointment for me and my boyfriend, and a time was agreed upon. When I got there, the man greeting the door told me to wait and gestured at some chairs. Now, I don't mind waiting ten-twenty minutes, but I ended up waiting an hour. Other guests who had made appointments that day seemed to have to wait for long lengths of time as well. They didn't really seem to have a system distinguishing walk-ins from guests with appointments. They determined the next guest to receive a massage based on how long the guest had been waiting in the room. In sum, I'd say it's a great place to get a cheap, excellent massage. It was a great experience once I made it to the massage table. Just don't expect them to strictly adhere to your appointment time if you made one. read more

I've tried a lot of massage places from chains to top hotel spas but was actually pleasantly surprised when I came here. My usual pick is hard to get an appointment at but the hours here work well with my odd work schedule. I was initially skeptical when my boyfriend brought up the idea. I really thought it would just be someone pinching my feet uncomfortably. It IS a giant public shared space so make sure you turn off your phone and don't yell in the waiting area. It's cold sometimes so I prefer to wear sweat pants and a t shirt or long t. Once I wore shorts and they have to keep draping your crotch area. It's really just luck when it comes to your therapist unless you ask them their names. The one time I actually did not enjoy the massage was when the guy was severely congested or something and kept breathing heavily out of his mouth. His massage was also way too light, I felt like he just put lotion on my skin for an hour. But, this was later at night and he was probably tired. I stand on my feet all day and it has helped me a lot to come here 2 ish times a week when time permits. It's not expensive, convenient but may not be for everyone. They are very respectful of your lady bits and ask if you're okay if they intensify the massage. Everyone has a different "style" and is seen them all frequently use hand sanitizer. The shared room is dark and the music is relaxing but sometimes people talk (coworkers, receptionist). Overall, I really like this place. read more

I'm a regular in getting massages for many years now and I hop around to different establishments and people. So believe me when I say I know what I'm talking about when it comes to massages. The pros outweigh the cons immensely. Cons meaning you don't get your own private massage room and you hear people snoring all the time haaha but hey that's what happens when you get a kick a$$ massage. It smells a little musty and humid in there on account of the water for the foot massages but honestly the 1 hour deep tissue massage I get are so so so awesome!
