Love love love the pastries at this place and everything is so well priced. You do have to wait in a line if you go during the weekend, but it's still worth it.
This is the spot for amazing coffee and pastries! Don't be deterred by a long line outside, they're staffed to the gills and move quickly. I was behind 10+ people outside, and couldn't even see inside the shop when I got in line. Less than 10 minutes later, I was outside with two hot beverages and two pastries baked right in their shop. Totally worth it and far better than quickly scooping up substandard facsimiles at a major chain nearby. So, enjoy, sit outside, live the European-style of casually sipping and letting time slip past with the leisure of someone who isn't in a terrible rush and has no interest in conversation with amazing coffee.
After checking its high ratings online, we decided to give it a try while we were in the neighborhood. We loved their coffee--well crafted, full-flavored, and delicious--and the iced matcha latte was tasty. Their pastries, like mini blueberry Danish, chocolate croissant, frosted cinnamon rolls, and double chocolate and Nutella croissant, all paired well with their coffee. The only thing we didn't like about the cafe was that it didn't have enough tables and seats, as it is pretty small with only two small tables inside. Although there is a patio in front, tables are limited.
Drinks were pretty good, but not amazing. However, for the price point I can see why there are lines out the door. Downside is there is very little seating so this is definitely more a grab and go coffee shop.
Across the street from another popular coffee shop, Soleluna still had a line that went outdoors which definitely showcases as a strong coffee shop contender. There isn't much seating at all inside but there are a couple tables outside on a small patio of the restaurant. Everything here is made from scratch daily and looks extremely appetizing with a wide selection of pastries and huge stuffed croissants. Despite there being a line the service was really fast, I was able to try one of their croissants as well as their cookie butter latte which was really rich and you could taste the cookie butter from the beginning to the end holding its flavor the entire drink which is unusual for an iced drink as they tend to lose flavor.
Sweet little coffee shop down the street from Tryst & Lost City Books, local Ecuadorian shop with really good coffee and on the lower priced end compared to other shops in the area. Do yourself a favor and get a few Honey Butter Wheat Medialuna Croissants, you'll thank me later!
I stopped by Soleluna this past weekend for a coffee and found it very charming. It's a small coffeeshop and bakery with some seating outdoors and just a high top and 2-4 chairs inside. I stopped by around 8:00 a.m. on a Sunday morning and walked right in. I ordered an iced americano and drooled over their favorite beautiful pastries (I don't even have much of a sweet tooth, but their pastries looked gorgeous). The service was fast and friendly, and my iced americano was great. I enjoyed my coffee on a walk to Meridian Hill Park. Around 11:00 a.m., I was in front of Soleluna again (just passing by) and noticed there was now quite a line. I imagine it moves quite fast (there's really nowhere to go inside which might make the line look a little longer than it really is). So, Soleluna is great, and it's no secret! If you stop by earlier in the morning, it won't take long at all to get a coffee and a treat, but you should expect a bit of a wait if you go later in the morning on a weekend. I'd happily return.
This is a sweet little pastry and coffee shop right near the main intersection in ADMO. Blink and you could miss it, but don't miss it because the pastries are on point and they have all kinds of lovely coffee drinks as well. I would also highlight that the monkey bread is a very well priced pastry for this area and they have different flavors, including savory. Some of the savory croissants can also be a full lunch or breakfast and they also have personal quiches. There are only two small tables inside so plan accordingly during winter. There are outside tables as well.
Not my favorite coffee but I would absolutely go back for the baked goods! Limited inside seating and a few outdoor tables so a good on the go option if you're in the area.
Very small cafe. Staff was very fast and nice. This pistachio is something to rave about. 10/10
I've been going to this little cafe at least once a month for about a year now, and I just want to sing its praises a little bit more! The cinnamon rolls they sometimes have on the weekend have to be my favorite in DC (so soft, so gooey, never skimping on the cinnamon) and the quiches are spot-on. Every time I start my day with a pastry from Soleluna it just brightens my morning, and it's so great to see staff making everything from scratch and pulling warm pastries from the oven when you get there early in the day. Glad to have a cozy little cafe like this in the neighborhood and that their prices have stayed reasonable. If there's something specific you want, I recommend coming early because they do sell out.
I've only had coffee takeaway before and I've been meaning to try out the baked goods here. My friends kindly got takeaways for me and they taste absolutely fantastic even the next day after leaving them on the counter, in an air tight container. Would love to come visit the cafe again some time.

Don't order their non-coffee drinks. I came with a high expection from their sparkling reviews, but our group was very disappointed. We ordered iced chai, iced matcha, and hot chai. All our drinks had barely any taste, the chai (in the pic) was practically white in color. Maybe their espresso-based drinks are better. However, the almond croissant was amazing. It was soft, flavorful and perfect amount of sweet. read more
Small, quaint cafe that serves pastries and espresso drinks at a relatively affordable price. The spot is tiny and you gotta get there early (before noon) for a decent pastry selection. I got there to snag a Kouign amann which I enjoyed outside on their patio. It had that flaky golden-brown crust that crackles as you bite into it, but the inside was a little too doughy for me. Still solid though. The café has limited indoor and outdoor seating, but if you manage to secure one of the three outdoor tables, you can enjoy yourself a peaceful morning. Alternatively, you can take your pastries to the nearby park. Service is quick, friendly, and efficient! I will definitely come back to try their iced coffee with fresh oat milk. read more

Flew into DC from SF and was looking for a cozy coffee shop that reminded me of home, somewhere I could read, relax, and enjoy a good pastry. I ended up here and ordered the cheese and spinach danish, a pistachio croissant, and a guava matcha latte. The space has a cool, aesthetic vibe, but it's definitely on the smaller side. There are only two tables inside and about three outside, so seating is limited. I got lucky and snagged an indoor seat just after someone left, which was a relief since it was super hot out and the outdoor chairs are right in the sun . Pastries were decent,definitely fresh, but coming from SF (where I'm a bit spoiled when it comes to baked goods), I felt they were a little lacking in flavor. That said, the matcha latte was really good. Great balance of flavors, and the guava twist made it feel unique. Overall, I had a good time. Chill atmosphere, friendly staff, and while the pastries didn't blow me away, the matcha and the vibe made up for it. read more

AMAZING cafe/bakery ever!! As a bakery and coffee lover, Soleluna is one of the best places in the DMV! The place was filled with happy customer, patient workers, and youre able to see them making the dough! We got a butter croissant, pain au chocolat, and iced vanilla lattes! All were DELICIOUS. The croissant was good but the chocolate croissant was even better!! To make things even better, the coffee was amazing with signature notes and flavor! Def check them out! 5/5! read more

5 out of 5! I wish they open a location up closer to Navy Yard, Wharf or Capital Hill nearby me (lol). Tasty iced coffee with homemade oak milk for $3.50. While, I'm spending close to $8 for one in my area because I have to add a cashier tip. This location doesn't even request one when you close out. A win is a win! Pros - Fresh Bakery items from crossiants, quiche, etc - Freshly made oatmilk - Friendly Staff - $3.50 coffee (A win is a win, okkkaaay) Only con, I have it's 20 minutes away from me. Or else I would be there everyday. read more
I've been visiting Soleluna for about a year now. Although it's not so much of a hidden gem anymore (expect a line on the weekends), it has not changed its charm, taste, or prices! My go to is an iced latte with oat milk and one of their flavors, they have about 5 including vanilla, hazelnut, and salted caramel. The price is the most affordable I've come across in DC, at $3.50, and the Ecuadorian coffee quality is great. My favorite pastry is the guava one -- I'm originally from Florida and it's the closest I've come to a cuban guava and cheese pastelito in DC! The pastries do sell out so try to get there early or on a weekday. Despite how busy they can be at times and how small the shop is, the service is always quick and the quality is consistent. The employees are very kind and as a former barista, I notice the rhythm they have to keep drinks going out quickly. They also always have an awesome reggaeton/latin music playlist which I personally enjoy! Definitely one of the best coffee shops in DC. read more
I feel like this place has been all over my instagram and TikTok with people raving about their cheap coffee. And I have to say I was impressed. 4 dollars for a latte is pretty much unheard of. I got their coconut specialty latte which was a bit more expensive (about $5.50). Still, that's a relatively cheap price for DC or really anywhere. I loved it. The perfect summery coffee during this heat wave. They also have a variety of delicious looking pastries. 10/10 place. I'll be returning soon! read more
Stopped in to try Soleluna - solid 3.5-4 based on what we tried. +prices are great compared to other coffee shops/pastries. Drinks are cheaper than most, pastries ranged from $2-6 i think. +they bake everything (I think) in house. Go early for the freshest pastries +espresso and pour over coffees were decent. Not bad, not great. Factor in price though and it's a great deal +pastries were ok. Good texture on the guava and spinach croissants. Flavor on spinach could've been better - needed more salt. The ham and cheese croissant texture wasn't good (not properly laminated so missed the flaky layers), but the quality of ham used was pretty good. read more

I tried two of the drinks and would say they're both just alright (2.5/5), but with the ambiance and very affordable pricing here, I'd bump it to a 3/5. Unfortunately, all of their pastries were sold out by the time I arrived at 12:30 PM this past Saturday, which I'm sure makes up at least half of the experience and hype Soleluna deserves. The outdoor seating is also nice when the weather is tolerable. It's great for people watching, haha. ICED LATTE W/ VANILLA BEAN - 3.50 A flavored latte for 3.85 after tax? Not in this day and age. Also, I was able to ask for oat milk without any up charges. Practically unheard of. The pricing here is so affordable which is why I'd recommend people giving it a try. The latte comes out super aesthetic -- the vanilla bean syrup sat on the bottom, the espresso shot on top, making a nice gradient as it blends in with the milk in between. I think I would enjoy the latte more without the syrup (or a different syrup in the future) since I didn't like the after taste of the vanilla bean syrup here. There was a strong espresso flavor in my coffee, but it was just OK. ESPRESSO MACCHIATO - 3.50 Espresso with a dollop of steamed milk. Sadly, my espresso was pretty burnt so I didn't enjoy this one very much. In the future, when I return to try the pastries, I will make sure to update my review to account for them. Overall, glad I stopped by Soleluna to give it a try since this has been on my list for awhile. read more

I ordered their vanilla bean latte and spinach feta croissant. The price for an oat vanilla latte is pretty unmatched in DC (around $5.50) and I thought the flavor was delicious. They make all their syrups in-house which I really love. I wish there was a bit more filling in the spinach feta croissant but it tasted great nonetheless. read more

Tiny coffee shop in Adams Morgan. More pastry items than expected. Tasted warm and fresh. Light but still crispy on the edges. Lox was a decent size. Coffee was fine but thought it should have been better for the price. Would go back to try another type of pastry. read more

This has been bookmarked for me for a while now, and it was delicious! It's a small space with no seating inside, but some tables outside to enjoy your pastries and coffee. At the register they have a list of their housemade syrups which include chai, salted caramel, vanilla and chocolate. I went with their iced vanilla bean latte with whole milk. I noticed a juicer on the counter behind the register and asked if they sell fresh squeezed juice which they do! I didn't see it listed on the menu so that was a pleasant surprise. My fiancé got the orange juice which was delicious. I didn't try their pastries, but most of them were sold out and we were there around 11am on a Sunday. My latte was delicious and their vanilla syrup was significantly better than store bought syrups I've tried. Overall this was a great spot for a coffee fix and I'll be sure to try their pastries next time! read more

DON'T come here for NON-coffee drinks. We ordered an Iced Chai as well as a Hot Matcha, both were too light in color to anticipate flavor. Tasted like straight milk with a splash of the respective element. NOT worth. DO come here for the pastries. We got a Ham and Cheese Croissant (~$5.50) to share and had it warmed up. Flaky and delicious. There were other pastries that piqued our interest and would love to try the next time we visit this cafe. Yet to try any espresso-based drink, definitely steer towards those to try. Very small space with 2 seatings inside + 2 outside, so don't expect to have a sit down unless you're lucky that someone leaves. Ask for your pastries to be warmed up. read more
So happy to have discovered this place! 10/10. I'm a vanilla latte fan so I try them wherever I go, and these were TOP NOTCH. The homemade syrups were so yummy. My husband got the salted caramel and he finished it in like 10 minutes lol. The service was super impressive! The line was probably 8 people, so I expected to wait a while but the workers at the espresso machine were SO EFFICIENT! So we got our lattes SUPER fast! The inside of the shop is so cute too. Not too much seating though - two tables w two seats inside and three tables outside on a really cute patio. Will definitely be back! read more

An excellent neighborhood coffee shop! Great service, great food, great coffee at affordable prices. I went the other day to get a coffee and a pistachio croissant and received them in under two minutes. Soleluna's coffee is delicious and at $2.75, a bargain especially for the coffee quality. I also enjoyed my croissant, which had an excellent filling-to-pastry ratio. I've been to Soleluna several times and have enjoyed their other croissants and savory pastries. I look forward to coming back soon! read more

This place is a hidden gem in Adams Morgan, and easily the best cafe in the area. If you can grab one of the three tables outside, expect to have one of the most pleasant and peaceful mornings. A new go to when I'm in dc. Was visiting the area and was pleasantly surprised to find a coffee shop that was cute, delicious, AND affordable! A latte is $3.5 whcih is significantly less than most and they don't charge extra for alternative milk. They also offer a variety of housemade syrups to make any drink your own. A relatively simple menu of both hot and cold drinks thag you can customize. The coffee itself tastes so fresh and the coffee flavor comes through every drink without the bitterness. They also have a variety of sweet and savory. I tried the almond croissant whcih was incredible - perfect amount of almond flavor, flakiness, and sweetness. read more
Located in Adams Morgan surrounded by many other cafes , Soleluna holds its own. Along Columbia Road NW, it's open every day starting at 7 a.m. and closes in the afternoon. The space is small, but there are two small tables by outlets inside, an outdoor patio and strong wifi. They sell a number of pastries like pistachio croissants, etc. and have a full coffee menu. My small vanilla bean latte was under $5, which is a bit less expensive compared to other cafes. read more
Small inside but some outdoor seating. The almond croissant was amazing & the iced latte was spot on. I could see the potential of a line forming but at 8am on a Monday I only had to wait a few minutes. I can't wait to go back and try the other pastries - worth the price. It was $9 for my iced coffee & huge almond croissant. In terms of accessibility it was very small inside and none of the tables could accommodate a wheelchair. read more

Oh my goodness how did I not know about Soleluna. U love it here! The apple tartlette was amazing, the ham croissant one of the best I have had in a very long time, the coffee tasty and the service so friendly. Music was nice and low key. The tropical parrot themed wall paper is super pretty. It's a bit of a hike from my ususal stomping grounds but soooooo worth it. read more
$3.50 (or I believe $3.62) for a latte anywhere but especially DC is a reason to go alone - if I lived in adams morgan I would absolutely frequent this spot. nice clean cute vibes and fast service - no almond milk which is not the most common thing and the oat milk they used is a very cheap, super processed brand - the color of this latte wasn't looking very latte like however it was adequately tasty so I can't complain that much read more

Got the cookie butter latte, matcha with vanilla, spinach and feta pastry, and pecan cinnamon roll. Drinks were beautiful and delicious and the food was good! I think we preferred the savory pastries and loved both drinks. The people who worked there were very kind and the space is wonderful to catch up and grab a quick bite! read more
