We were contemplating if we wanted to go all the way to Lincoln park for coffee and food from downtown, but we are glad that we did. This place is packed on weekends for sure, but they have ample of seating spaces and we were able to get a table fairly quickly. My friends and I ordered Cortado, mango passion match and Macchiato for drinks and we ordered shakshuka and avocado bread for food. Everything was absolutely amazing! I have been on this spree of finding best shakshukas in the city and Soloway definitely tops the list. It was very flavorful and the portion size was great for the price we paid. Our coffee orders were out pretty quickly but food order took a bit of time, but it was surely worth the wait. I will definitely come back to this place for amazing dining experience!

The hype about Soloway coffee is fully justified. The coffee and the food were really great. They have a lot of seating but this place is squally very just in the weekends so you might have to wait to get a spot to sit. The order lines can be long too. We got the mango passion fruit matcha, Cortado and a mocha. They had great sessional options on the menu too but we didn't try them. The coffee order was ready quickly but the food took around 15 mins. My friends got the shakshuka and the avocado toast. For the price, the portion size and the taste were impressive. We will definitely be back!

Tried to go to Pop up bagels on Sunday morning and then we realized we didn't wanna wait in line for an hour! So here we are! There was still a line, but it wasn't too bad. We both got the breakfast sandwich and honestly??? It was so so good. I always want to try the good breakfast sandwich sandwiches in Chicago and then I never do so this was fun! It was $17 with adding avocado (Honestly, you could've skipped that) But the eggs are super unique because they have corn in them, which added such a lovely sweetness. There's no meat, but there is a really crispy hashbrown, and some good cheese and some sort of spicy spread. Honestly, it was great. I wanted to try the pastries, but they weren't sure with my not allergies so I skipped it. Definitely would come back again though! A bit expensive, but isn't everything???? They have a nice patio as well!

Lovedddd this place. Loved the vibes, loved the food, loved the location, everything was perfect. Beautiful Portuguese song playing inside and the most gorgeous patio outside. Sando was delicious, definitely a new fav of mine.

Tried the pistachio croissant and the pistachio cheesecake. Soooo yummy :) would recommend! Online it said the pistachio croissant was sold out but when I went in, they still had some so make sure to check!

I so wanted to buy into the hype but our experience fell short. Ordered a couple of large lattes and was disappointed by the small size (in comparison to other coffee shops) coupled with no vanilla flavor option. With no flavor option, I was expecting exceptional coffee, but it was just meh. However, the oversized pistachio croissant was delicious.

Delicious breakfast sandwiches and good coffee! Customer service was great, so friendly and kind. It's gets busy, so arrive early if you want a seat!

LOVE THIS CAFE! It is very tiny and not a lot of seating. The matcha is my favorite in the city. And the pastries are DELICIOUS. You order at the counter and staff is very friendly. A must if you are in the area.

My friend and I stopped here while I was visiting her in Chicago, and I had the sudden urge to try matcha for the first time. I was not disappointed. I got the passion fruit mango matcha with coconut milk as recommended by the person taking my order, and it was absolute perfection. I also got a strawberry croissant not realizing that it would have a creamy strawberry filling, and wow... I'm a croissant girlie, and this was easily a top 5 for me. The coffee shop itself is spacious, with both indoor and outdoor seating, and the service was quick. Can't wait to come back!

Brief review- the environment at Soloway is more of a cafe (with food) than a specialty coffee roaster. The food looks fantastic and I'm glad people are enjoying the space but I'd say this isn't the destination if you're wanting a singular excellent cup of coffee. I got the Ethiopia Kochore drip which was fantastic but the pour over menu is limited despite Soloway being a roaster. I assume this is just the market demand of the area. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, the square footage is used very efficiently. Very clean bathroom. Cashier and baristas are efficient, knowledgeable, and friendly.

My college roomie and I were super excited to try this because many of our friends and Reddit had recommended this as one of the best matchas in the city. Sadly, maybe we went on a very off day. The matcha latte was quite milk heavy. We probably needed to try their mango passion fruit matcha latte that everyone recommends. My iced vanilla latte (decaf) with whole milk was delish though!! A very solid choice, and the drinks come out super speedily. They have a no laptop policy except for a few select tables, so this is the place to sit and enjoy breakfast or a cafe lunch with your friends!! But not the place to work from home given how crowded and loud it was (and cuz it's against their policy lol)!

I've been holding off on this review cause I thought I'd give them another chance soon but really didn't have the chance to nor would I want to anymore due to my last experience here. First off even if there was no one behind me, you still get this glare to order as quickly as possible like even if there is no one behind me. The menu is kind of extensive I need some time to review. The drink I got was so meh like idk Wtheck that was Passionfruit mango green tea. Tasted like goddamn water... Then the shakshuka although pretty taste is a scam. For the price point, it was not fulfilling. It was just a snack. Even went on a whim to get the banana bread and Wtheck was it so dense. I really wanted to like this place but it just fell so short imo

    Bottom of the Canelé

Rating for the canelé alone. Cute spot. Stopped in because I needed to use the bathroom (it was a non-stop line, it was taken by 2 people while I was sitting because I was too slow to realize it was free). The croissants seemed too large and indulgent/sweet so I went with a few canelés. Ick -- I've had canelés a few times before but this was not it. It was spongy and soggy inside, and the outside was hard and burnt... I believe it's supposed to be like caramelized sugar. At that price point ($4.50 each), I don't think they should've sold me this burnt one. Would not recommend.

The buttermilk one particularly gave county fair funnel cake vibes and the lemon poppyseed one reminded me a lot of a lemon bar lol verrry lemon-y (in an indulgent-good way). Friendly lady at the interior counter nook. We visited on a Monday at 9 am and there was no line at all.

Recommended some items to us and after hearing we were on a donut tour, even threw in a freebie. Only outdoor seating available, but the weather was perfectly lovely. Everything led up to (finally) some lovely, super soft fluffy fried donuts. Glazed Donut and Strawberry Glazed Donut were exactly the pillowy, yeasted texture I was looking for and the latter even had a little extra tartness from the strawberries, which you could tell was made from real fruit! The Lemon Poppyseed Cake Donut ended up being a banger as well; great balance between sweet and sour, not dry at all, and cross between crumbly and a melt in your mouth texture. The Apple Fritter was the only miss. Had an odd aftertaste that almost reminded me of curry powder and was texturally super hard, like bits of cardboard.
