Some guys is a classic Indy pizza spot and have been around for ages. They previously had a carmel location for many years until they closed it and are down to their original location (here). Their salads are delicious and have great dressing options! Try their Italian Gorgonzola and be ready to pucker--in a good way! Pizza is classic style and they have lots of prebuilt options to choose from. You can always build your own, but again, they have lots of great menu options to choose from! You know when you don't want to go real fancy place but would like a romantic, old charm Italian restaurant? Some guys is a great take-out restaurant and their pizzas are unique. We have never been disappointed in the pizza we ordered for takeout. Some guys inside is that Friday night, I am tried but would like a no hassle order, a great pizza and a fresh salad with a reasonably priced good bottle of wine. Some guys is your place. Several times, recently we have gone in and left full, with a great wine feel and thought everything we paid for was within reason. They serve spaghetti and other Italian items, but our favorite is the pizza and Greek salad. The service is quick but not too quick, they understand the vibe. Wife and I went on a Saturday night in our quest to find Indy's best pizza. What we discovered was a cozy yet bustling Italian restaurant. As I said we went for the pizza because many have said this is the best pizza in Indianapolis. While I could challenge that claim, the pizza was very good. The service was excellent and our food was brought out fast and hot, but even though they were busy,we didn't feel rushed. We've lived in the neighborhood for over 15 years and never been to this spot so on a cold January evening, the hubby and I was like, "why not" and stopped at this neighborhood staple. We ordered two pizzas, the Creole and a regular pizza as well as this special bread they had. it wasn't breadsticks but it was really good and garlicky and light. The pizza was good but I wasn't impressed with the crust. The crust was much too soft for me and I like a more NY style crunchy crust. The service was wonderful and the ambiance was very old school. They had booth seating lining both walls and tables in the center. The booths seemed very old world style and the lighting was dim. It definitely seemed like a type of place one comes with friends or with someone you've dated for awhile, and patrons were expected to talk to each other. The service was good, they are known for their pizza and we haven't been there for a couple of years and couldn't remember why we stopped going. Ordered a sausage pizza to share with garlic bread. The crust is thin which we love and the sauce was good. First bite reminded us why we stopped going. The sausage is spicy! There should be a mild option. We ate some and gave the rest to our friends to take home. Garlic bread was crunchy but I couldn't taste any garlic. Friends ordered one kids spaghetti which was good but the other dish was a regular size meal and it was The size for $20? He asked if that was normal and the server said it depends on who makes it but yes it was the regular size? They both enjoyed their meals and salads. I'm afraid I'm doing this review a week after going here, but I didn't want to forget to do it. I had been craving a good Stromboli for about a week and decided on this place because I enjoyed their pizza in the past and knew they had a sausage Stromboli. We checked ahead of time and Google said it wasn't busy, but it ended up being busier than we realized and we were told it would be a 30 minute wait. We were seated 25 minutes later at a booth that had a sticky surface on top. The bus boy cleaned off the top for us when I pointed it out, but didn't dry it off very well. The back of the booth seat had a huge opening to it. I was afraid of putting my coat and purse down for fear they would hit the floor, thankfully that never happened. The seat itself, other than a few crumbs was clean. The booth atmosphere was nice and intimate. Each booth had their own awning and lighting as well as a funny piece of artwork on the wall. I can't remember the music though, may have been Italian music that was lightly playing in the background. My wife had an IPA Cream Ale and I had a water to drink. We started with an appetizer of garlic bread. There were six medium size pieces of crunchy garlic bread that were nice, garlicky, and crispy. My wife had a personal pizza with pepperoni and mushroom along with a Caesar side salad and I had the sausage Stromboli with a side of potato chips and a house side salad with ranch dressing. The salads came out first and mine was just loaded with creamy and tangy ranch dressing. While I'm not exactly complaining about the amount of dressing because I love ranch dressing, it did seem like a bit much for the size that it was. It also had more like crunchy bread crumbs on top instead of actual croutons. It was mixed greens with red onions and shredded mozzarella cheese with the large amount of ranch dressing and crunchy bread crumbs on top. I enjoyed it despite the fact the salad was sort of drowning in dressing. My wife enjoyed her salad as well and thought it was very tasty. My wife's pizza and my Stromboli arrived shortly after finishing our salads. Her pizza looked nice with lots of cheese, crispy cooked pepperoni, and mushrooms. She was very happy with the taste and quality of it. My sausage Stromboli was a very spicy sausage patty on Italian bread with pizza sauce, cheese, red onion, green pepper, and mushroom. I did ask for extra green pepper, extra heavy onion, and extra mushrooms. I figured my sandwich would be messy because of the extra veggies, I didn't anticipate it being served in a small basket with the potato chips underneath it getting soggy from the sauce and extra juices from the veggies. The sausage was also very spicy, just beyond my limit of spice too. I went to the bathroom shortly after finishing eating. The bathroom was generally clean, but it looks like they need to update it a bit because the cut-out of the tile for the toilet paper roll holder was smaller than the cut-out in both stalls. The handicap stall that I used had a baby changing table, but it was chained up closed. The soap dispenser was almost non-functional. I will return, but I will never get their Stromboli again. read more

We arrived on a Wed. evening at quite a busy time, 5:30 ish p.m .First time visit and on walking in it was alittle confusing as you immediately see a room full of empty high bar type tables and a order pickup counter. A guy/host at a little stand finally asked it we wanted to be seated after I asked if we seat ourselves or do counter order and he took us around the wall to the dinning room. I concluded we were confused by walking into the empty bar area. Great place for a spontaneous dinner out. Prompt service and tasty veg pizza with GF crust done nicely. Squash was listed as one of main ingredients and we would have hoped for a bit more of that as opposed to the extra carrots on the pizza!! Had never seen carrots on veg pizza before but flavor work well with other veg. Thinner carrot slices might be better I think! Overall clean restaurant, cozy size,comfy booth we sat in, and seemed like a neighborhood fave!! It's well known that at one point Some Guys received one of my rare 1-star reviews. Over the years, I've grown fonder of this northeastside pizza joint that is not far from my home yet for years elicited a truly awful response from me. If you know me, you know I care highly about customer service and will sometimes even choose customer service over food quality. My first ever experience at Some Guys had demonstrated a blatant exhibit of poor customer service AND disability discrimination, an experience that led me to never return for several years and to tell everyone I knew about it. A few years ago, I opted to return after my friends repeatedly assured me that it must've been a fluke and they assured me that there was no way the owners would tolerate such a behavior again. I have to admit that my return was pretty good. I held a grudge, for sure, but I have to admit it was a better experience and led me to decide to return occasionally. Here we are a few more years after I increased my review from 1-star to 3-stars and I'm moving it up another star. I've never again had a poor customer service experience here and I consistently enjoy the food and ambience. Some Guys is located in an older strip center that recently got an exterior upgrade, though they didn't improve accessibility (which somewhat lacks here). There are accessible parking spots, though there's really not a decent curb cut on the Some Guys side of the building and it can be tricky getting to the sidewalk on crowded nights. Some Guys also has two sets of double-sided glass doors that are somewhat heavy. You enter into a lobby area and go forward to a hosting area. Some Guys does a brisk carry-out business and is only open evenings starting at 4pm and closing at 9pm. They are closed Mondays. The dining room is warm and friendly, though somewhat crowded (part of the customer service issue I originally had was around seating, my wheelchair, and their crowded dining room). There are both booths and tables. In case it's not obvious, Some Guys emphasizes pizza and pasta dishes. They have the expected pizzas, pastas, appetizers, salads, and desserts. The pizzas include traditional and wood-fired. I typically opt for a small 8" pizza with pepperoni, a side of garlic bread (which you can get as a half-order), and my usual unsweetened iced tea. Some Guys used to have a sister location in the Geist area, though that location was closed. At this point, this is the only location open. Service is consistently friendly, though I'm not sure I'd call it truly welcoming. It's warm enough that I enjoy going back. Some Guys is in its 34th year in Indy and there's no doubt there's a loyal following here. This really is a relatively small location, though it's warm, friendly, and cozy. They have a nice beer and wine menu and salads and desserts along with a menu for kids. I will admit that I was a bit more of a fun of WB's when it was open just a block away, however, with them gone it's mostly chains now in this neighborhood unless you head over to Blind Owl. I've definitely become more affectionate about this place over the years. I still live in this area and I now do believe my poor customer service on that first visit years ago was a fluke. I don't dismiss that fluke - sometimes you do only get one chance to get it right. However, in this case, I've now developed a history of positive experiences and can definitely give Some Guys a thumbs up. read more

I don't go here frequently but every time I leave I'm satisfied. On this occasion we came to enjoy friends and the lasagna that is served only on the first weekend of the month. Dinners come with a side salad which is a good size and garlic bread. They make their ranch dressing in-house and is great for dipping anything in. The bread comes out warm and the lasagna is amazing. I don't order it often and here I cannot pass it up. I didn't get pictures of it but I was also recommended the Alfredo. Also, don't skip dessert. Very disappointing dinner. We have eaten at Some Guy's for 30ish years and always enjoyed the food. Tonight's lasagna dinner was awful. I sent my salad back because of black and slimy lettuce. The replacement salad was no better and the server responded, "I asked them to give you the freshest looking one." (so the other salads weren't fresh either? Yuck.) The lasagna is not what it used to be. They have clearly changed the sauce. It tasted like Chef Boyardee. Sad. read more

Good pizza but WORSE customer service. We were given the wrong pizza and didn't realize it until we got home. When I called and spoke to Claire she said it was our fought because we gave the wrong name. Why would we give the wrong name? She was rude and refused to listen. I ask for manager and she hung up on me. I was not rude and called back she immediately hung up on me. Never had issues there before but I will not be returning because of the very rude interaction with Claire. Some Guys Pizza is located in an older strip mall off Allisonville Road. Every time I drive by, there is typically a full parking lot which is a great sign. We opted to dine in on a week night and were able to get seated quickly. They typically have a speciality pizza on the menu, however we went on a holiday week and they didn't have any specials. I ordered a Greek salad and two small pizzas. The pizzas we tried were the Santa Fe and four cheese. The pizzas were good and they have a thin crispy crust. We started having food from Some Guys when it opened. We have magnets and pins and some other SG swag from back in the day. That was nearly, well 30 years ago. Suffice to say we are deeply ingrained in the SG menu, we all have our favorites, favorite Pizza toppings, a lust for the zen like Lasagna, and real love for that Oven. This is a wonderful place to take your family and have a meal, glass of wine and be waited on in a fun, bustling spot. This is based on my carry out experience. I wanted pizza and new Some Guys was right around the corner. I called in a carry out order and was told 35 minutes. By the time I arrived, my food was hot and waiting on me. I ordered the large bomb pizza and a full order of garlic cheese bread. The pizza was delicious and the garlic bread got devoured by my family within minutes of me coming home. Pizza is more regular to thin crust and the topping fresh. Some Guys is a wonderful hole-in-the-wall pizza and pasta place in the Eastwopd area of Indy that you would not know about unless someone told you about it. My foodie group came here for dinner and we were very happy with our meals. I ordered the Bomb pizza and it was delicious! I enjoyed the pizza with pepperoni, sausage, onions, and black olives. The combination was perfect! The pasta is also very good as well! The chicken Alfredo is one of the popular dishes at Some Guys, and my foodie group confirmed it is superb! I also ordered a small Greek salad, which was good for a salad, but nothing special. The customer service was excellent from the staff based on what I witnessed tonight.
