Sonic is a standard fast food joint with extra pieces of flair! It is a fun and new way to enjoy food with your family, as car hops (people on skates or roller blades) glad to and fro with the orders. This place has a fantastic drink selection and amazing shakes or (sonic blasts), their dessert is aplenty on their menu and I love cherry-limeade as living in the southwest at one point, that was a common drink there. The workers are courteous and sweet and seem very willing to fix any problems or to assist in your ordering process. It has a very easy order to screen set up and a card swipe on the menu section. You can eat in the car, go threw the drive thru or eat in. Their is some nestalgia that takes place here with people much older as car hops were quite popular back in the 50's and 60's. I definately say you should stop in at least once and give them a try. Their drinks, above all else, are a great reason to try it. read more

I finally tried the new Sonic in Buffalo and was quite impressed as I had imagined. I got a burger (I am very picky about burgers, don't eat red meat in general so it's hard to come across a good one for me) fries and a shake- all which were amazing. It may not be ideal to try and scarf down this meal quickly, as is not the healthiest option but everything from the flavor of the fries to the burger and shake were something very different in Buffalo and I loved every bite. read more

I came here for the Drink Happy Hour which is an awesome deal!!! You can choose from lots of flavors and even mix different flavors. I love how there are several different ways to order. It makes it so convenient! Then to top it all off the waiter brings your order out on roller blades! Too cool. I can't believe all the negative reviews I see, based solely on the wait times. What do you expect? This is the first Sonic WNY has ever had. Of course it's going to be busy at first! They are famous for their mozzarella cheesestick, and they are addicting. I worked for Sonic in another state about 8 years ago, and it was one of the best jobs to have while in school. As a fellow Canadian, I found there food options to be really heavy and large. Me and my cousins had been in Buffalo to shop around when we came across Sonic. This was our first time getting Sonic, and we wanted to know what the hype was about. As we pulled in, we noticed they had a mini-drive thru for each car. We parked our car and were able to order without being rushed. We decided to get milkshakes. We ordered the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Master Blast. We originally wanted the small but she said only medium was available. We were not expecting the medium to be Canadian size extra large. As I was saying before we wanted a milkshake and we were specific about that to the associate helping us. He confirmed it was a milkshake. After we got the drink and had paid we then realized the drink was actually all ice cream with whip on the top. This was not what we had told them. At this point we just eat how much we could and ended up throwing the rest out. Next time, we will walk in and see the sizes before we order. read more

We went for the first time on Sunday. I pulled in the parking lot and told the attendant I wanted a drive in booth. He told me to go ahead, but not to take the one on the right since he had someone waiting for it. I pulled in, bypassed that one and couldn't find any other open ones. I sat there for a minute and one opened up and I pulled in. He came up and told me he had people waiting in line and I couldn't go there. When I told him what he had said (with my husband agreeing) he told me he would never had said that and had me wait in line. So, I gave up that booth and went to park and wait where he told me. Another car pulled in next to me a few minutes later. That car was given a booth before me. My husband and I were talking about leaving when he flagged us into a booth. Once we ordered it took a very long time to get our food. (I could hear one lady complaining she wanted her money back so she could leave since it had taken a hour so far for her). When we got our food, it was cold. The Pickle-Os were suppose to have Ranch with them and there wasn't any and we were not given any napkins. First thing you always have to remember about reviews of fast food places...They're fast food places! We're not talking about a 5 star restaurant with candles on the table, so the 4 stars means it's a 4 star fast food place. So on with my review. Went for lunch on a saturday, wasn't that busy, only 2 groups in front of us, and before we could decipher the menu, it was our turn. Guy at the register was very polite and knowledgable, helped us when we clearly didn't know what we were ordering. I had the double burger, tots and a hot fudge shake, food didn't take very long to get to us, I like how they deliver it even when you're sitting inside, girl on skates was very nice also. I thought the burger was excellent, actually tasted like meat, at some fast food places the meat almost tastes washed out, with very little flavor, or overpowered by the toppings, not here, the main flavor is the beef, just like it should be. The tater tots were just ok to me, I've had just as good making them myself at home in a fryer. People rave about Sonic's, but nothing special is what I was thinking. The shake was great, very thick, tasted like a hot fudge sundae. Was definitely worth the trip for that alone. The roller girl(carhop?) came back during the meal to ask how everything was, and if we needed anything, came back later to take some of our trash away to throw out for us, now that's something you don't see too often in a fast food joint. Maybe it was because it wasn't super busy, but I was impressed nonetheless. Will I go back? probably, if I'm in the neighborhood, I'm a big fan of Checkers up the road, but Sonic has the advantage of an inside sit down area(better for the winter) read more

I have been their 4 times, and ordering is a piece of cake, the person on the speaker always repeats your order back to you correctly!!!... But I have literally NEVER gotten what I've asked for! It makes the place look bad when the cooks can't read properly or are rushing so much that they ALWAYS forget something or give you the wrong thing, although I love the food and order service is nice, whoever reads and makes the food has no brain! I kind of like the place. I know people seem to feel in the EXTREME! (LOVE IT! HATE IT!!), but I found the food real tasty, reasonably priced, and the service very good. I'm frankly surprised that I liked it. I don't generally go for franchises. But I have to say, when I order my usual breakfast burrito,it tastes good and the service is quick, and it's reasonably priced. Also, they have something for everybody: old people, kids, families, everybody in between. Lots and lots and lots of choices. I was impressed last time, too: the obviously new server refused to take my DEBIT card until she checked my ID. I hadn't signed it; still haven't! First let me say, I will never understand what all the hype was about when this location opened. I had sonic while visiting Las Vegas on a couple occasions and I was never impressed. I tried to tell people waiting 2+ hours in a drive thru line is absolutely insane and warned them they would be disappointed. One day, after it being open for a few months, I did stop in at the drive thru since it is very close to my home. I figured why not give it another chance. While the menu is overwhelming and there are many choices, I was not pleased at all. The line was not too long, maybe 5-7 cars ahead of me. I waited about 35 minutes after ordering to get my food. It was cold and tasteless. The only thing that was good was the shake. The girl working the drive they was rude and looked extremely miserable. I did not even get a simple "hello" and "have a nice day", let alone a smile. Needless to say, the only reason I would consider coming back is if I'm craving a milkshake.
