Burger - 10 out of 10 if you love pickles... so many pickles they're falling out. Con: they put it in a box where they should've wrapped it in paper. The sandwich fell apart pretty quickly as you can see. It would've been nice to have the paper to hold it together mostly. 2. Pickle Flavored Tator Tots : 10 out of 10 the seasoning has a slight pickle flavor. Not overbearing. Just right. 3. Pickle Flavored boba Slush drink - she said.... She loves pickles but Pickled Flavor Slush and Pickle Flavored Popping Boba was over the top and she cannot recommend. She would order this again but for the sandwich only. But technically she can just order a cheeseburger and request extra extra pickles like normal and save $5 on the meal itself. There you go guys.... As for the location. Car by car. Saw THREE people who arrived AFTER me get served. I went up and talked to them again after 20 minutes total has passed, only for them to realize it had just been sitting there with my food getting cold, and my ice cream melting. Apparently no place for their employees to wash their hands either. My grandsons are 6,5 and 3 years old. I was told to take them across the street to a bar. The Westport flea market was very nice, I wanted to stay there but they wanted to eat at Sonic bad mistake. In the era of Covid they should have a place to wash their hands. I drove up to the drive thru, which was about five or six deep, at about 10 minutes 'til 10. 10pm is the closing time, but I thought I had plenty of time to place an order. I was wrong. The line wouldn't move and when it finally did, it didn't move fast. The car in front of me placed its order, but stayed in its space because there was no where to go. Finally, when it did, I pulled up to the microphone, only to watch as the staff inside shut down the lights and the sign. I tried to yell through the microphone to get somebody's attention, but they turned that off too. If you've visited this location, you know that the store is built on a small footprint, and that the drive thru doesn't allow you to get out of line and pass around to the right. Nope, I was stuck in line. After the car in front of me was finally served, I drove up to the window and asked if I could place my order since I waited for now, over 10 minutes. The gentleman at the window looked at me and said they were closed. I persisted. He walked over to his manager. She turned, looked at me and screamed, "No, he wasn't in line! There's no way! Tell him we're closed!" I assure you I was. I also communicated that back to the gentleman at the window and told him what they did was bad business. Then I drove away without my slushy. After I got home, I emailed the store. A few days later I received a form mail response saying that due to the current conditions that I probably won't get a response. Okay then. I know this is terribly first person. I mean, I'm just a random guy and this is just a Sonic. My $3 probably won't make a huge difference in this store's performance. Heck, I don't even come here that often. I'm just ticked at how I was treated. This was an epic fail. I would give zero stars if I could. I'm sure you're not on Yelp to search for a Sonic. I mean, why would you be? However if you are, for some reason, and you're looking for cold drinks or ice cream desserts, please drive to the Andy's Frozen Custard located on Westport Road to the west or drive up to the Miami Ice on 39th and Genessee. I've had this location as my local sonic for about two years. I used to frequent Sonic often back home, but this one just seems to screw up every time. If I'm not being served small, hard chicken tenders, or sloppily thrown together cheeseburgers, then the staff and costumer service is just lazy and rude in their communication. Particularly in the evenings. Tonight i had another instance with this location which prompted me to go ahead and leave A review. I pulled in just before close (my fault, okay) but there were two other cars in the line and one had just ordered so I hoped they'd squeeze in one last order as it was 9:59. Instead they shut all the lights off on me and the girl on the mic wasn't responding to me or even trying to communicate or be polite about it. Or PRETEND like she'd consider fulfilling the order. I haven't been to any establishment that refuses to serve their last guest when they're on the property. Like.... there was money to be made and you refuse to take it? Bizarre. It's not like it was me and three other people/ multiple cars trying to order a ton of food right at closing time. That was my last straw! Won't be returning, no matter how much I love sonic milkshakes. This location sucks I'd rather drive back across town to my home location before settling for this. Wish I could give this zero stars. Worst customer service of all time. Pulled into a stall and it was broken. Backed out and pulled into a new stall. Pushed the button and they told me to pull to a closer stall despite there being only one other car in the parking lot. So I pulled to a closer stall and punched button again and tells me to order when ready. After being in multiple stalls at this point I knew exactly what I wanted so I went ahead and placed my order. It wasn't my intention to eat at Sonics today. But I was in a fix. A timing fix, and knew anywhere else, I'd not get out quick enough to go to my next place of work. I live very close to a Sonics, and I utilize their drinks, often. They never mess up my food, hardly, and provide a service.Today I really wanted to sit down and be served, and was, more or less, even though the served part, was eating in my car. I ordered a Junior mushroom melt, without mayo. I made sure the guy in the speaker heard without mayo. I ordered my usual onion rings, and a medium cherry limeade slush. I waited for my food, and when he brought my mushroom/Swiss burger and rest of my order, to my car, I paid him. I asked him, "Does that have may on it?" He assured me it didn't. I rolled up my car window, and actually ate it in my car. (No trash in my car, I shuddered when I had to put the bag on my floor.) I looked at the mushroom/Swiss burger, and lifted thew bun. That may have been mayo, cause I don't think Swiss cheese is that creamy. I kind of gagged. When I say NO mayo I mean no mayo. The toasted bun wasn't like a patty melt, it was like dry toast. I don't like toast. If I had stuck with my usual this wouldn't had occured...(sundae or ice cream of some type, small onion rings and cherry limeaide slush, can't go wrong.) I had a ration of 8 onion rings, but I watched the ONE employee, deliver each car their food. Then I watched, as he went from car to car, offering us ketchup. So I figured he must've counted my 8 onion rings, making sure each bag had only 8 onion rings. I swear, I get 12 to 14 onion rings at the Sonic's in Independence. I ate, and got out of Sonics in 20 minutes. I'm sure Chipoltes or other places can't beat that. I think this Sonics would be awesome on drinks. I do think it could use some improvement, but it's the only place that does what it does on Westport Road. read more

I am so surprised to read about the crappy service. I didn't experience that at all. Someone answered the intercom pretty quickly. The credit card machine didn't work though. My complaint with my meal was that the tots had no salt on them at all so they were pretty tasteless. The burger had too much drippy condiments and the onions and lettuce kept falling out as I was eating. I'm not sure if my complaint is with this location or Sonic in general. This sonic has gone down the toilet the last 3 times I have come in. I'm not one to go to the internet and post a review but tonight's experience warrants so. I waited in line after ordering my food for nearly 20 minutes. This occurred as well the last 2 times I had come to this location. Doesn't matter what evening or how early or late it is, they still manage to make customers wait for an unnecessary amount of time. My tots are not warm at all. The mozzarella sticks are luke warm at best and my chicken sandwich looks like it was pressed or something? Not even the food is done properly and correctly! Bare in mind it's only 9:30PM on a Friday evening and when I pulled up there were at least 3-4 staff members floating around. Which brings me to my last point. They had someone inside talking to staff (slowing them down) that was not in Sonic work apparel playing on his phone and making jokes. So management might want to consider looking in to who is really in the store during late night hours. I sure hope some random person that isn't employed there did not handle my food as he disappeared "in the back" once he caught me looking at him confused. This Sonic as I said has progressively gotten worse over the years and quite honestly needs to rethink its management of people employed there! I have lived in midtown/Westport for the last 10 years and have gone to this Sonic on numerous occasions but unfortunately this is my last trip. read more

I love sonic, but this one in particular is absolutely terrible. I ordered three drinks during their happy hour, but was cut off by the rude lady working the drive-thru. When I drove to the window to let her know she had missed part of my order, she told me I had to drive back through and reorder my drinks. After expressing my frustration in being cut off, she finally agreed to letting me finalize my order at the window. Once I got my drinks, I noticed all of my slushies were clear, which didn't make sense since I had ordered fruit slushies. The girl who brought our food out apologized for the wait and stated it was just her working. If they can't properly staff this location then they need to shut it down.
