I seriously should have read the reviews on this place before trying to go. Reading through them I've learned that what happened to my fiancé and I is apparently standard practice at this location. We drove into a stall, read through the menu to decide what we wanted and when we hit the button to order.... nothing. 5 minutes of nothing and my fiancé tells me to hit the button again so I hit the button again and a girl comes on and asks me to wait... honey I've already been waiting. I gave her a good minute and a half after that and with still no noise, and with the reminder that this place is supposed to be fast food, I left. I even said bye so she wouldn't be talking to thin air whenever she managed to find the time to do her job. Let me start off my saying how much I love Sonic! However the service there really let me down. Completely understand that they get busy and your order may just take a bit more time, what I don't understand is getting the order completely wrong. So, this is the first time I've been to this Sonic. We, that is my folks and I usually go the one on 6th Avenue in Tacoma, but we were on the way back from going to see an alpaca farm past spanaway and we decided to go here for lunch. Let's see, where do I start: first, we got there around 1:40 PM on a Saturday afternoon and after pushing the order button on the menu board, we waited 10-15 minutes until one of the employees came out and asked us if they could take our order. Oh, there was also maybe one person actually working, while two other employees were taking a break. I could understand maybe if the place wasn't busy, but it was a Saturday afternoon and there were at least a dozen cars there including us... Continuing on that, it took about a half hour to even get our food. Which included three Chicago hot dogs(my dad only ordered two); we also got an extra order of French fries which we did not order. I myself ordered a medium popcorn chicken... which it took another half hour or so to get. I also noticed that after we ordered it seemed that people were getting their food quicker, and that the order button was fixed... Lastly, and this is not directed at sonic specifically, but I noticed a few people getting bags of ice... at a Sonic... Why would you get bags of ice at a sonic anyway? Surely you can go to a grocery store or 7-11 if you need that much ice. Anyway, I would think twice about going to this Sonic, as their service stinks. So I love the chippy ice and the unsweetened tea from Sonic usually. Stopped in to grab drinks while we were running errands. The tea was so bad, it had a skunky taste like bad tequila. So I rang them back and told them that the tea was no good and she asked if I would like something else. I said no because I had also gotten a glass of water and those are the only two things I drink. She said ok then. I waited for her to offer my money back, but she had disconnected from the speaker. I was in no mood to hash this out so I dumped the tea and tossed the cup as I drove by the trash can. About an hour later I took a big drink of my ice water and almost gagged. IT WAS NOT FILTERED! Tasted like they had added bleach to the cup. YUK! I do not drink unfiltered water. So sad, I was so excited to have a Sonic closer to our home. :( read more

Day crew on May 30,2018 were terrible to deal with. The carhop was rude and told me I didn't need to remind me of my order! Then the bag they handed me was covered with grease. It was a small bag, so I asked if both the burger and the burrito were in the bag, she looked at me and said, "your burger is coming, just wait!"..... I contacted the manager, who was apologetic and asked us to return for 2 free meals. I told her no thanks but they really need to deal with their staff problems. We started off the day good. Then this happened. 1st we had to order and reorder 4 times as they kept messing up the order or forgetting things. My wife's slush had way too mush syrup. Was replaced with ice-cream slush only to have it mostly ice-cream. My limeade had a whole cut up lime and 1/2 cup of strawberries, not a good mix very acidic. All in all it took over 20 minutes to get the order corrected and everything we ordered. Which meant the hot food was now lukewarm. Let me explain I arrive to Sonic around 3:40 p.m and I order 4 shakes (2 medium and 2 mini shakes) I got my order at 4:10 p.m. 30 minutes LATER and then I had to wait to get my change back 10 MORE minutes because the manager has to give it. And in those 10 minutes I kept asking "I'm waiting for my change how much longer?" In total I spent 40 minutes just for 4 shakes. BIG WASTE OF TIME. Workers are always pretty nice but service is incredibly slow and orders are inaccurate a lot of the time. I only come for drinks and what keeps me coming back is normally they'll walk the drinks out to you to get the line moving faster, but they've seemed to stop doing that. Also you might be waiting in like for ten plus minutes and they'll never offer an apology or any discount or coupon which is fine, but makes it seem like the slow service happens often. read more

I was extremely excited to see that there was a Sonic opening down the street from my house. First time we came here it took a little while, the line was long and the wait was very long. But we gave them the benefit of the doubt and assumed it was because they just opened. Well till this day NOTHING has changed. You'll be waiting in this line for DAYS, spare some time and find somewhere else. As if Washington didn't already have bad traffic as it is I'd hate for someone to come here after a long day of work just to waste their time sitting for food. That's not the only down fall for this location. I can't tell you how many times my husband and I have been overcharged for our total. CONSTANT ONE STAR REVIEWS FOR A REASON. This place shouldn't even be running anymore. I don't know how many one star reviews this company will let happen before they maybe try and make a change. Is anyone in charge of this place? I guess it just shows how much they don't care about their customers. Ordered on Uber eats cause it was late and not many other options. First of all, they hardly have anything on their Uber eats menu. I feel like half of it was missing. We placed our order aprox. 9:30. ETA: 10:45. Thought that was pretty steep considering we live probably 5 mins from this location. About half an hour went by and the status hadn't changed from "preparing" so we called to make sure they were really still preparing our food. Don't waste your time coming to this location! Went on a Sunday at 11am. No one else was there. After ordering our food, we waited for 20+ mins. I decided to go see what was taking so long. The lady that came to the door had an attitude and asked what was my order. She then handed me my food. Went to the car to check it. Everything was cold even my hot coffee! I went back to the door, gave them my food back and asked for a refund. Okay, I love the Sonic on South Hill, and live closer to this one, so even after reading the reviews on how slow they are I thought I would give it a try. I went there at 2:00 this afternoon and since there were only a few cars there I thought it would be quick. I pushed the red button and waited. Ten minutes later I was still waiting, and that is a long time to wait to even give your order. (At a fast food place.) They obviously don't value their customers. If I could give this place zero stars I would. My coworker and I planned on grabbing something quick before work so we decided to go to sonic, we both ordered through the app and parked in the stall (as instructed by the app) that way they could bring out our food. We both checked in through the app and after 10 minutes nobody brought out our food. We then decided to go to the drive-through and we waited 30 minutes in the drive-through, and 20 minutes of that drive-through was me at the window arguing with the cashier. My coworker and I both ordered slushy's, and then onion rings.. when I get to the window I show her my order through my device and she tells me that they don't have slushy 's, and they are out of onion rings, which mind you they already charged me, and my coworker for the items that they didn't even have. Then the cashier proceeds to tell me that they don't have our receipts or the tickets because somebody lost them, so therefore she can't refund our orders.. The cashier spent about 15 minutes looking for our tickets and receipts, while asking her coworkers where they put them. The cashier ended up giving us two large root beers in replacement of the slushy's, one pretzel twist, and a cheeseburger that we didn't order, and we drove off without refunds due to them being disorganized and losing our receipts and ticket orders. A car parked in the stall next to me and they were answered within a min. So I pressed the red button again, no answer but another car pulled in on the other side and the were answered.
