Autumn is so sweet & nice. I come here very often & she is working everytime I come. She always has a smile on her face and is so dang friendly. I love when I come here & see she is my car hop person. She's a very hard worker. My daughter says "that girls so nice" everytime we pull off! Autumn did it again today, she has great customer service

The retro "Frozen in Time" theme is so quaint, inviting, and fun! I absolutely love 50's and 60's music, cars, and soda/ice cream shops and their theme blends all of these! The sever was easy to work with, and the food came out fairly quickly! The burgers were tasty, and the French fries were good- the fries just needed a little salt. The menus on the TVs show videos of them making the burgers, ice cream, and sundaes which is super cool and even more interactive than a still photo! There are cute wall decals all around the restaurant that add to the oldies ambiance; retro diner servers, jukebox ice cream menus, old fashioned cars, and a few more! The ice cream counter seating is accented with checkerboard details, as is the ordering and serving station. The pricing was fair, too! Overall, we truly enjoyed our visit to Burger Haven! When we come back, we'd love to order a hot dog with kraut and a sundae- maybe a bubble cone ice cream, too! We will definitely be returning to this sweet little nostalgic escape with great food!

In my never ending search for a great hot dog, I found my way to Skeeter's World Famous Hot Dogs in…read moreWytheville, VA. I'll say right up front that they certainly lived up to that name. The family and I were on an adventure, heading up to Niagara Falls. I was using my trusty Yelp app to try to find a cool lunch spot. I saw Skeeter's, and knew we had to try it. So we jumped off the interstate, and wound our way down to the quaint downtown of Wytheville. It's a beautiful little town, and also the birthplace of Edith Boling Wilson, wife of President Woodrow Wilson. So we rolled into town and spotted Skeeter's nostalgic brick corner building. Very cool looking, and fitting for the 101 year old business. Alas, we got out of the car and excitedly walked up to the door,,, to find a CLOSED sign. We looked through the window, and could tell that we were missing something special. So we walked down to the street to a pizza place, and had a less than stellar lunch. Actually, it was just bad. So, went went off on our Niagara adventure, and a few days later we were heading home. It was nearing lunchtime, and we saw the sign for Wytheville. My wife said, why don't we try Skeeter's again. I called to make sure they were open, and we hit the streets of Wytheville again. We found a table at Skeeter's and started looking over the menu. They have plenty to offer besides hot dogs, but we had to try these world famous dogs. My wife and son got the regular "red weiner" dogs with fries. I had to go for the big 1/4 pound Black Angus dog. I was happy to find that they were in the process of changing their store over from Pepsi to Coke! As I said up at the top of this review, Skeeter's certainly lived up to the World Famous Hot Dog moniker! My big Black Angus dog was so good, that I had to order a second one! I think I can safely say, that if Skeeter's had been open on our way north, we would have still stopped on the way back, to enjoy it again! We found nothing bad to say about Skeeter's. The atmosphere, the decor, the food, the prices, the staff... all were absolutely wonderful! This is the kind of small town, hidden gem, that I love to find in my travels! We'll be back!

It's in this really charming historic building (apparently where First Lady Edith Wilson was born), and the whole place has that nostalgic mid-1900s vibe that just feels cozy and fun. Super cute spot. Our waitress was also really friendly and made us feel welcome right away, which always makes a difference. That said... the food itself was just kind of average. The hot dogs and fries weren't bad at all, just nothing that really stood out. For a place that's been around for over 100 years, I guess I was expecting something a little more memorable. It ended up tasting like something I could grab at a random country gas station. Overall, I'm glad we stopped in for the atmosphere and history, but probably wouldn't go out of my way for the food alone.

While the location didn't have changing stations in the bathroom, they did have high chairs for children (which could use some cleaning - as well as the floors). I'm unsure if it was a lack of staffing, poor management or both, but this location could use a review. Customers should not have to wait that long to order food, while employees are chatting on the floor of the restaurant. After we received our food (which we had to switch to ToGo at that point), we had to stand back in line just to ask for ketchup packets. Not wanting to wait for my food to get cold just for ketchup, I decided to just open my sandwich and use the ketchup dispenser by the soda machine. As I turned to leave, I almost slipped and fell while holding my seven month baby - as the "wet floor" sign had been pushed out of the way, no longer proactively warning customers of the potential fall risk. The likelihood of us passing through this town again and stopping is rather low, but I do hope the owner will take the time to reevaluate its location and employees. On a good note, the cashier was sweet and could have used some backup - as she was left to manage taking the orders and prep them for customers.

They were friendly enough but difficult to understand, and couldn't provide any enthusiastic recommendations. They were clearly here to get through a shift and collect a paycheck. Cleanliness was among the worst I've seen in a very long time - especially since all three employees were standing around. Food all over the floor. A marker to beware of the wet floor which had a puddle of yellow liquid at the entrance. No effort at all to swab it up. Dirty tables. Dirty windows - can barely even see outside at night. Urinal with a half gallon of yellow water unable to flush properly. Enough grease on the floor to feel like a slip and slide. Employee parked illegally. Otherwise the food was as epic as 1996.
