Updating now that I am 3 days post-laser lipo of my waist and hips. We had to split the full procedure (AbEX, laser lipo of waist, hips, and pubic) into 2 sessions which was mildly disappointing but honestly so appreciated. My dr numbed aggressively which is why we had to split into two sessions...it ultimately came down to he wanted me to be comfortable for the procedure so he could do what he needed to do. The procedure itself was only mildly uncomfortable. No pain. Only the awkward discomfort of internal vibrating while he performed the numbing and lipo process. The maneuvering myself side to side on the table was also not painful. Once in a while I would feel a brief zing feeling that lasted for only a second and then was gone but overall, I carried conversation easily with him and the nurse the entire time. The recovery has been good as well. I feel like I've done the most intense oblique workout of my life, but otherwise it's more deep tissue soreness than pain. The dr told me I had deep stubborn fat when he started so this was to be expected. Nonetheless I was down the day of the procedure, loopy from meds but was up and interacting with family all weekend after. I did take it easy, resting when necessary and not lifting anything heavy. I tend to push my body too aggressively in healing so it's important to slow down and listen to yours. The first shower was challenging as I was just hesitant with my muscle tightness and soreness and the tiny incision points but everything went well. Overall step 1 of 2 went well and I am as hopeful for part two -- the actual AbEX and such. The team was great. The dr and nurses were supportive and helpful the entire way and the dr took time to continuously ask how I was doing throughout the procedure which I appreciated. Whatever horror stories you've heard before, don't believe them all. Everyone has their own experience and mine so far has been very good here so far. This is my own personal experience with Sono Bello and others experiences may be different. I went to have a consultation with Sono Bollo last month. This was my 3rd consultation that I had with them in regards to getting a tummy tuck or liposuction. My first experience was with a surgeon who showed no empathy or sensitivity towards me. I had a previous surgery done on me when I was a baby and those scars were still present as an adult. As I got older and after having a baby, fat started accumulating in my stomach. When I saw this doctor, I can't remember his name but when he looked at my stomach, he looked at me with sheer disgust as he turned up his nose and said Oh My God. He asked what had happened to my stomach, in which I told him. He immediately told me there was nothing he could do for me. I went to Sono Bello again in 2019. The surgeon at that time, I can't remember his name, he looks at my stomach and told me that he couldn't do a tummy tuck or lipo-suction to fix my stomach or abdomen area but he could do another procedure to get rid of the fat but I don't remember what the procedure was. Unfortunately because of the cost of the procedure I was unable to obtain the funding to get the procedure done. Fast forward to 2026. I went to Sono Bello again. The front desk staff was very friendly and Naomi Reasoner whom I met with to talk about the different procedures I wanted to have performed was very nice. The plastic surgeon who would have been assigned to the procedure was not so nice. When I met Dr. Afshin Eslam he told me how pretty I was but once I showed him my stomach he was like ooh, I don't know. He asked me about the scars on my stomach and I told him I had them since I was a baby when I had a diaphragmatic hernia. He said to me I'm not sure what you're expecting me to do but I can't fix this. He then told me if he did a procedure I wouldn't be happy with it because my stomach would look the same or worst. So I'm not mad that Dr. Eslam told me the truth. I was hurt over the delivery and how he looked at me in sheer disgust. I also was not happy with his assistant because I told her that what he stated to me was hard to hear and that I was not expecting that response from him and she just laughed at me. I was expecting hear, "I'm sorry that we couldn't do anything for you to help you achieve your goals", or something else but instead she laughed at me. There should be more sensitivity and compassion when the plastic surgeons and their assistants have to explain to their patients that they can't do the requested procedure they asked for or that they won't be able to perform surgery on them at all to get the results they are looking for. When I told them I had another appointment to get to, the response was that it takes time to answer questions for the patient. No s&*t Sherlock. Build that time into the schedule. I am very very pleased with the outcome of my surgery. Everything turned out better than I imagined. I had the "apron" removed and the excess skin taken, the inner thighs and my knees and the pubis. The procedure itself was painful for me but doable. I do exactly what they told me and wear my full (ankle length) compression garment every day. I do take it off to shower. The office staff was professional and the consultant and nurse who helped me were great. I have no idea why people are upset with wait times. There a wait times for any doctor they probably see. I have severe depression due to the horrific inner/outer/banaroll thigh lipo results I experienced at SonoBello Sac at the hands of Afshin Eslami MD in the summer 2023. I can no longer wear anything above the knee let alone a swimsuit which was my goal in first thinking about getting this work done. It has taken me 2 years find the strength to post my review after hell for the past 2 years trying to find a single board certified plastic surgeon willing to fix his horrifically botched work. I have not been successful after dozens of plastic surgeon consults so I guess I need to expect I will remain disfigured for life. I see he is still working here from the SB website and I feel the need to warn any patients considering going here. My initial consult was with Naoimi Watts (a sales consultant). Their model is to have you meet with this person who upsells you on everything and this frees to surgeons to perform more and more surgeries to make SB as much money as possible in a day. I specifically requested to have Dr. Eslami eval me at this consult since I was not comfortable with the idea of scheduling a surgery after only meeting with a sales person. I was mostly focused on my abdomen but he convinced me the areas I really needed done were my inner/outer thighs and bananarolls. I was sold quickly on inner thigh since they have rubbed/chafed all my life but expressed I didn't think I needed outer thigh and banana roll since I had no saddlebags to justify treating the outer thigh and that I was worried about a saggy butt from treating the banarolls which I had heard about being a possibly issue. But he said I needed all 3 areas in the thighs and that I had good skin quality and he would treat very conservatively since I am not a large person and that I would be very happy with my results and I trusted him since he seemed so earnest. Paid their exorbitant fees and fast forward to after my surgery. I am deformed now. Have HUGE shark bite indents on both outer thighs from his careless/unartful overaggressive lipo with poor positioning intra-op I suspect. I had expressed concern about his pre-op markings and he ignored everything I said and told me I worried too much and dismissed me. Now, my left outer thigh is so bad it literally looks like I had a botched BBL though I have never had this done. You can visibly see this dent even when I wear baggy pants-thats how bad it is. I can no longer pose in photos showing that side of my body. My inner thighs were also oversuctioned and terribly uneven with extensive ripples and dents on both that are so visible that I can no longer wear anything shorter than knee length. I am convinced he was trying to use the largest cannula to get the job done in the least amount of time since they overbook their surgeons to make more money per day. I requested my op notes and the amount of time he spent on my case for the number of areas treated is laughable. You can easily see the top innermost thighs both sides still look uneven untouched and are still touching/rubbing majorly and I have worse chafing now than I did before. I still have to walk/waddle with my feet three feet apart to prevent them from rubbing. At the time of the inner thigh lipo, I was also left with multiple painful burns (black scabs) on my left inner thigh likely from improper laser lipo use. That skin is now permanently darkened. I cannot find a plastic surgeon willing to do a full thigh lift to remove all the deformed areas/dark skin or even revise the thighs with more lipo since they believe there will be too much scar tissue and the affected area is too large to resect. When I had brought up my concerns at my post ops with his nurses (he wasnt even there other than to address anything for the first few months the burn itself) I was given the "swelling" hogwash and assured my results would even out in months time. Guess what. They never did and I am permanently botched with no answer in sight. AVOID THIS HELLHOLE AT ALL COSTS. It is a glorified butchershop. Okay, it's been over six months since my procedure. all said and done, I wouldn't recommend Sono Bello. The expense and inconvenience was not worth the results. I do notice inch loss, but I'm lumpy, bumpy, and now am noticing a return of "flab" around my lower bikini area. Seems gravity is moving any remaining fat and placing it there. I didn't expect to have a flat tummy but also didn't expect to have to keep it covered forever. My last visit seemed to me so they could sell other procedures (to tighten the skin). I don't normally write reviews about businesses and the customer service or lack of customer service I received, but I have to give you my opinion of Sono Bello in sacramento. I had an appointment with Sono Bello Monday this last week and it started off like any other doctor appointment. You have to fill out all the paperwork and then they give you folder that has images of people who have received thier services and the outcome of the experience. needless to say nothing in the material, I read indicated that I would be a good candidate. The evaluator who I spoke with told me that there was nothing they can do for me because my fat in my stomach was under my abdominal muscles. I don't know if that is true or not but I didn't appreciate the way she delivered the information. I felt as if they were brushing me off because I was African-American, 178 pounds and male. This is an updated review. I think I have a couple of other ones posted. I am currently a little bit past four months postop getting a revision to my original liposuction that I received October 2021 by Dr Travassoli. Since then I had to do a revision and I also had the AB Ex procedure done. I had a different surgeon this time around Dr Melniczek. He is so awesome. His energy is great. He has a great attitude. He listen to everything that I had issues with my results from the last surgeon who performed my original surgery. I am so happy with my results. I am 95% happy with my results the other 5% Comes from me and my continued journey working out. And I still have a little bit of swelling that's going to go down so I won't see 100% results for quite some time. But even if I don't, I am so happy with what he did with my body. Let me tell you I am SNATCHED!!!! I just turned 50 this year and my body is looking so good. I am thinking about getting my back done maybe next year and I will definitely want him to do that. Even if he doesn't work for Sono Bello anymore, I will find wherever he is so he could do my surgery. Lol. read more

If I could give them 2.5 stars I would. Overall, I was pleased but they do have some areas they need to significantly improve. Consult- I was on time for my consult but they were running 45 min late. They apologized but not until we asked how much longer it would be. The consult lady was very nice but some of the information she gave me contradicted what the doctor said at the pre op. I had done a lot of research prior so I was fully committed to the procedure but I could see this being a troubling point for anyone who put down a deposit and received different information later at the pre-op appointment. Pre-op- The nurses and front desk staff are very kind. If I could rate Dr T by himself he would get 5 stars. He told me what I needed to know at the pre op and did not sugar coat anything. It would be nice if he was able to do the consults but I can imagine with the volume of people that come in vs the number of people who go through with the surgery this is the most efficient way. Surgery Day- At the pre-op appointment they told me to be there at 9:30 am for surgery. I arrived a few minutes early but they didn't call me back until 10:48 am!!!!! Nearly an hour and a half late and they didn't apologize. Luckily, that was not a sign for the rest of the day. The nurses were great, Dr T was great. At one point he asked that a nurse with more seniority help me get dressed- he wanted to get a crease right. Later he called the nurses back in to change the support garment cause he wasn't happy with how the I was dressed to go home. I definitely felt like I was taken care of. Post-op- The doctor called to check on me the day after surgery. At that point I was on the mend. About 10 days post procedure I called about some labs my primary care doctor ordered. I had a low blood count following surgery and called Sono Bello for some questions. They brushed me off and told me to follow up with my primary care doctor, which I had already done. My questions were directly related to surgery, but they said "well your primary care doctor knows about surgery recovery." This in my mind really showed that the quality of care other than the doctor who is very busy is average at best. Results- I continue to like my results at 13 days post procedure. read more

I just expected more from this place. Where's the professionalism? I had quite a few questions and during the consultation the woman just had vague answers and made it clear that I was a dollar sign. Why would I give $7500(ish) to let some doctor (she told me "he's been doing this probably longer than you've been alive" (I'm 30)) cut me open and I most likely wouldn't have even met him prior to the procedure? None of it made sense and it did not seem safe. The receptionist was wearing a spaghetti tank top with visible tattoos on her chest and a different color bra popping out of her tank. An outfit like that is understandable if you work in a tattoo shop, bar, strip club, in a biker gang or hanging out with friends I guess but not in the medical field. It's all about the profit--19k for my procedure where no general anesthesia was administered. I had liposuction which was very painful. Prior to the procedure I was given two sanax, two vicodan and two percocet this was their pain management for Lipo. I had to cry out "stop" three times because I couldn't withstand the pain. I'm pretty sure I could have had more fat pumped out, it was just to painful to proceed. I was home two hours later with a prescription for fifteen tablets of vicodin. Two weeks of hell. Upon my post procedure fifteen days later I still was in excruciating pain the doctor seemed puzzled however when. he examined my stomach I had quite a bit of drainage (pus)..He again wrote a script for vicodin I went home so disappointed I regret going to SONO BELLO. I had confirmed the appointment through text AND email confirmations and had been sent many reminders from Sono Bello about my appointment. It wasn't until AFTER I had taken the prescribed medications the night before & morning of my procedure that they realized I wasn't a good candidate for it. Was so excited to have my appt at your Howe Ave location!! It was easy to get to and the directions were clear. Also, the communication via text was helpful. Then it went downhill after that. I was early for my appt and as I was going in the entrance of your location- very pretty btw- one of your team members in black scrubs came through the door talking to the front desk as I moved to the side to allow her to pass. I said Hi and got no response. As I went to the counter, I said " wow if that was my welcome to your center it certainly wasn't very friendly. She almost ran me over!". The femal as the desk chuckled - no apology no NOTHING just " name" . I gave my first name and hesitated and realized that if these two people and their actions are a representing of their Customer Service I truly want no part of it. I said that I wasn't going to continue with my appointment and left. I could see the two girls just shaking their heads- glass allows a reflection!! Hello all this is very hard for me to publish for others to see..... I am putting 2 stars for now only because my doctor is willing to help me out. The doctors and staff are really nice people at Sono Bello I am 6 months post op. At this time I am not exactly happy with my results. My last visit with my doctor wasn't a very good one as I left in tears I am not happy what so ever with my end results, I pray this new solution will help me and I thank my doctor for working with me. Dude review. Had an appt at 3:45. Filled out paperwork, 2 ppl in waiting room. They were seen then left. I waited. 3 more ppl come in, sit and wait. Some apologized for being late. They went in to be seen. I sat and waited. 2 more come in at 5pm, rushing maybe because they were late too. They were seen, I sat in the lobby and waited. The friendly receptionist apologized for my waiting about 45 minutes into the wait. Finally at 5:15pm I walked to the front desk and told her waiting 1 & 1/2 hours with no idea of when I'll be seen was too much. She was apologetic and I told her it's not her fault but they shouldn't schedule ppl if they can't see them in a timely manner. I could see waiting 15-30 minutes but 1 1/2 hours?? I had the Lifestyle Lift procedure and had my eyes done (upper and lower). Both procedures were done poorly. One eyelid was lifted nicely, the other still has a folded lid. One eye now looks smaller than the other and has a rippled scar under it where it wasn't stitched smoothly. The way they cut me left a little pockets of flesh or fat on the sides of my eyes so I still look tired but now, I also look a bit angry. The Lifestyle Lift removed most of my jowls (not all) but the "tiny incision" under my chin is about 2.5", side to side, and angled. Instead of have a double chin (front to back) I have three uneven ridges (side to side) of hanging skin with a fat pocket behind the scar. My neck looks awful. I did complain but they didn't fix anything. They would just inject the lumps and bumps with steroids and send me away. I did this for 6 months before giving up on that helping. They probably counted on that but after they did such a poor job, I certainly was going to let them cut on my face again. I didn't have lipo, so I can't comment on that, but I would highly recommend you look elsewhere if your wanting the lift. read more

I asked about the surgeon, tryin fto find out info on them, she told me there were several surgeons who did the procedure so it was hard for her to answer my questions because she didn't know who would be doing the procedure...uhm weird. I was given a price that I felt was out of the ballpark shocking as if I wasn't worthy of a budget friendly price. It is what it is.

I had a pretty frustrating experience with them. I had a 9:00am appointment. I received a text message around 7:45 AM reminding me about the appointment and informing me to be there 15 minutes early. Myself and another woman got there at 8:45 and we waited until a little bit after 9 AM before someone actually showed up to give us paperwork. There is only one consultant so I waited until shortly after 9:30 before I was actually seen. While I waited I decided to look up their reviews and saw how many people felt scammed by them and those reviews coupled with the lack of professionalism made me second guess my resolve to get a procedure done. In one review, one of the patients never actually received a procedure but didn't get her money back after paying thousands of dollars upfront. Yikes. When I was finally seen by the consultant, Megan, she informed me that there would indeed be incisions made and liposuction performed but not as invasively as traditional liposuction so I would be required to wear a compression band for approximately a month and there would be more down time than I was initially led to believe on the phone. Also, the actual procedure is only performed at their San Ramon office. Another thing they failed to mention on the phone. Additionally, they also stopped taking Saturday appointments recently. All in all, the experience this morning coupled with reading all the reviews on yelp from people who had some pretty horrible experiences made me decide not to get any procedure done with them. I'm irked that I wasted time and made special arrangements to make it to my appointment but I'm grateful I'm not in the same boat as others who seem to have had really awful experiences with them and are out thousands of dollars. read more

I would totally recommend going to Sono Bello to anyone and everyone i know. I just had my 3 month check up after getting my chin and jowls done and I am BEYOND happy with the results. I've never felt so confident. But besides the results, the staff is amazing!!!! I'm actually really sad that I only have my final (6 month PO) appointment left. Everyone is super nice, friendly, and extremely helpful. Sometimes I would feel like I might be asking them a stupid question, but the ladies there always reassured me it wasn't stupid or silly and of course answered my questions or concerns. I am preempting my review based on my experience with Naomi. She is the senior consultant and says she has had the procedure done on many areas of her body and she looks fantastic. The staff is very sweet and pleasant to work with. I go in for my pre-op on Saturday, July 14 and then get my work done on 7/21. I am anxious and nervous, but confident all will turn out well. I hope to have some good pictures to share post op! Fingers are crossed! So, pre-op was on 7/14 and surgery was yesterday! Here's the deal....so, they take you into a room to check you in, mark up the areas and take pics. Then they give you a cocktail...not a margarita either! Lol. After that, they wheel you back to the OR and administer a numbing agent to numb the areas where the incisions will go. From there, they insert a laser to help facilitate the binding process of the connective tissue....then they inject you with LOTS of lidocaine....then the fat suckage commences! Omg!!! It is the strangest thing I have ever felt! You can feel the skin being separated from the fat! After about 2 hours and 5 liters of goop being sucked out of me, I was wheeled out and my husband took me home....I passed out in the car and when I awoke, I thought I was going to die! I had leaked lidocaine and blood all over my dress and seat! Thank goodness I got my pain prescription, because I would have collapsed had I not.... Now, don't let this this freak you out! I have no regrets after having this procedure done. Dr. Tavassoli is awesome and loves what he does. He advised that I wear my compression garment for 20-22 hours a day for the next 6 weeks and I will. I also ordered a Lipo board on Amazon to make sure I heal smoothly. I know I will have some extra skin, but the board and compression garment will minimize that. Just do as your doctor instructs and you will not be disappointed. My advice is to not go this alone....it is painful, but well worth it if you want to love your body. read more

Well to start they were running 2 hours behind so I didn't get started until 2 hours after my scheduled appointment. Horrible job on my chin lipo, I barely see a difference and my left side is uneven, it's almost as if the left side of my chin fat hangs a little bit. I figured each month it would get better since you have to wait 6 months for the full results but unfortunately that was not the case. I see almost no results. I wore my head wrap as just as instructed, used my arnica cream, and took my arnica pills. Did everything if not more. $3000 down the drain. read more
