Mother's Day; I have a reservation at 7:45 PM. We get there and check in at 7:40 PM very shortly after they send a text and say you're ready. We go to the counter to be seated in the manager is there wiping off some menus and without even saying hello he just looks at me and says we're cleaning off tables and I politely said we just received the text and we are here. He then says in a very unprofessional tone and rather loudly. " we are cleaning off table tables" I don't know what his issue is, but I let that slide. We are now seated at our table. We ordered drinks and my drink is brought to me quickly, but my wife's drink is never brought. I tell the waiter and he doesn't know what happened. It takes our order and then goes to get her drink. We are sitting there while other people have been seated next to us and receive their food and started eating. Yep our food never came out of the kitchen. I asked the waiter 45 minutes later what is going on then he comes back telling us the kitchen is backed up. Total lie., how is it backed up when other people seated next to us later than us are eating before us? This is the last time we will eat here. It has gone downhill since my first review and I have just never updated my review. Note to the manager, I am from Los Angeles, I have eaten at steakhouses in New York and Dallas. If if you moved this location to any one of these three cities, it would actually be the equivalent of a Denny's. I've been here multiple times. It is an absolutely beautiful restaurant great bar to have a high-quality cocktail. Station casinos Customer Service is on point from the hostess the bus people the waiter and sommelier they make the experience fabulous and special. Now to the food, their steaks and seafood are super high-quality. Some of the standouts are the crab legs absolutely fabulous although it is expensive at $170 but it is worth it. After living nearby for over a decade, we finally tried Sonoma and I'm so glad we did! The place is tucked away inside the casino so I'd never seen it before, absolutely worth seeking out. Candlelit, white tablecloths, classy vibe. We sat at a table in the bar and the bartender was our server, welcoming and attentive. She brought out a basket full of hot fresh breads and butter that was amazing! My boyfriend ordered an old fashioned and I got a Cherry Bon Bon and let me tell you, it's phenomenal! Like an old fashioned and an espresso martini has a baby. Delish! We tried the chopped salad, charred corn, shishito peppers, sliders, mac and cheese, meatballs - WOW! Still celebrating my birthday locally.. This restaurant immediately became one of my favorite restaurants hands down and UP! Reservations is definitely recommended, as I saw how busy it can get! We had the HONOR of having Miss Scarlett as our waitress! She is definitely made to deliver exceptional customer service! Miss Scarlett was not only knowledgeable of every dish, she was also funny and just delightful to be around. Her sense of humor was appreciated because my boyfriend and I can be sarcastic The food was absolutely delicious!!! We ordered the grass fed filet mignon, roasted chicken and the large lobster tail ( I forgot to take out pictures of that- I was hangry) Everything was cooked to perfection! This is still my favorite steakhouse ever. I go to many fancy steakhouses in California, but Sonoma Cellar tops my list. The service is always impeccable. The food is phenomenal and the drinks are great. I can eat the pretzel bread for days! The new york with blue cheese fondue is my favorite. It is always cooked a perfect medium rare and it's big enough for my husband and I to share. The mashed potatoes are yummy and the creamed spinach is the best ever. The chopped salad is dream worthy. We got there at 5:45 not many people so service was amazing. I liked we could have a conversation without yelling. We got the valentines dinner for two. Would have been better off ordering straight from the menu. We could have each gotten a steak and sides for the same price. Lobster bisque soup was very good. You only get one porterhouse to split so beware. We thought we were each getting a steak. The steak seemed like it was sitting in a warmer than heated up before serving. It was tender, but very dry and tasted more like liver than porterhouse. I was very disappointed in the steak and that was the main course. read more

Disclaimer: I don't eat mammals so I can't review the meat but everyone in our party loved their food. I'm here to tell you that the service was impeccable/top-notch. We had a staff of people catering to our every want/need. Even better than The Golden Steer as far as service goes. All the food arrived hot, even my lobster bisque. I worked in the restaurant business for a very long time so I am familiar with all that goes on in restaurants and this place gets over 5 stars for the service we received. Everything I did taste was delicious (I wasn't feeling well the night we went so I didn't eat much). They serve a huge basket of bread with a variety of choices. The two I had were yummy. My only suggestion here (as well as for the Golden Steer) is to serve butter warmers along with the lobster. Why some nicer restaurants don't do this, I don't know. Two in our party had lobster - when I order lobster I really don't like when the butter cools down when I'm paying so much for a meal. Came here on Mother's Day it took 40 minutes to get seated and once we got seated took 15 minutes to order a drink so once we got our food we order crab legs that came with a set for 4 for 150$ and two outta the four meat were missing they did replace them but you gotta be careful ! Giving Sonoma Cellar at Sunset Station a generous 2 stars. We checked in at 5:00pm when they opened. Hostess told us we were lucky to arrive early as the restaurant fills up quick. We got a nice comfy booth. Asked for bottled water, got bread, placed an order for one appetizer, soups, entrees, and two drinks. People were friendly there and the food was great (but not superb). So why the 2 stars? When we got the check, my jaw dropped. For two people, the total was about $290.00. Where did this price come from? Well, my cognac xo was $60.00 for a single. $60.00!!! For a single cognac xo. I mean, a single is a few sips and it's gone. Without me knowing what they charged for this, the waiter had the gall to ask me if I wanted a second one. I drink cognac xo all the time and buy it by the bottles at Total Wine. I know what this stuff cost, but for this restaurant to charge me $60.00 for a single pour was absurd. Like I said earlier, the food was good but not stellar. We've been to plenty of other places where the food is just as good, if not better, for half the price. Here's the bottom line -- what they charge for food and drinks is totally absurd. Unfair. Irresponsible. And a lousy value for what you actually get. If you're going to charge those prices, you better have a dress code in place, but we saw plenty of people walking in with t-shirts, baseball caps, and plaid as if they just stepped off a tractor. We're not prudes, nor snobs, nor cheap, nor wealthy. We are usually responsible diners, but if I knew they were charging $60.00 for a single cognac, I'd never bother. They price gouge and take advantage of people dining out for a special occasion. $39.00 for a piece of salmon. Nothing else. Sides are extra. Was nothing amazing. We won't be returning anytime soon. And if we do, we'll never order drinks nor appetizers nor soups. $17.00 for a cup of lobster bisque. Ridiculous. Total with about a 15% tip -- $330.00+ out the door. For two people. One drink each. While the steaks were large, nearly half of each was fat, which was disappointing. The quality didn't compare to places like Texas Roadhouse or other local steakhouses. From our first steps into Sonoma we were very impressed and had a feeling we were in for some good good. Sonoma Cellar did not disappoint! Our server David was attentive and friendly. He was able to offer suggestions and checked on us throughout the meal. Luckily we picked a time that wasn't busy Friday at 6:15 pm so we went straight to our table without delay. I ordered the lobster bisque as my appetizer and it was creamy and delicious with surprising bites of lobster. My fiancé ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp which was also delicious! I also ordered the special that included a petite filet and lobster tail for the same price as the filet mignon by itself. My fiancé ordered the 24 ounce porterhouse and that thing needed a plate so by itself! David suggested I order my 6 ounce petit as medium plus which was perfectly cooked! A bit of pink with no blood running out. My lobster tail was a little cold but it was tasty so I didn't complain. I also got the brussel sprouts. Not the best brussel sprouts I ever had but certainly not bad. My fiancé got the street corn as a side and it was super flavorful. My Pinot noir was smooth and really enhanced my meal. We were seated at our reservation time of 6:00 p.m., and had depleted most ordered food by 8:45 p.m. Thus, we were all too full for dessert. Prices were reasonable for what we received, with King Crab Legs now a very expensive commodity. We paid $169.00 for the rather large portion we ordered, but it was a holiday, so were willing to splurge a little, and the sweet morsels supplied entrees for two people. Second visit to Sonoma Cellar in Henderson and I honestly didn't think it could top the first... but it was even better. We were lucky enough to have the same server again, Scarlet, and she truly made our anniversary dinner feel special. She took the time to remember us, get to know what we like, and she made a few recommendations that my husband absolutely loved. That kind of personal touch is rare these days, and it really stood out. Now for the food -- the porterhouse was, in my opinion, the best steak in town. And I've been to some of the most expensive steakhouses around... none of them compare to this. The atomic horseradish is the best I've ever had, and the Caesar salad dressing deserves its own spotlight because it was that good. To top it all off, they surprised us with a dessert treat for our anniversary, and it was incredible. Im not sure how they managed to serve some dishes bland and other dishes over salted but they did. The table ordered 3 MEDIUM steaks, all of them looked different. One of them was so chewy, it was inedible. Some of our veggies were cold when they go to the table. The 2 stars are only based on the delicious cocktails we had. Besides that, I wish we would have had our celebration somewhere else. I definitely don't see a reason to come back. I saw a post on Instagram about their Date Night tuesdays. I mentioned to husband right away. He said lets go, and made a reservation. We arrived 15mins early for our reservation but Rose was kind enough to sit us right away. We were greeted by Poom, our server. Asked us what kind or wine we like, white or red. We asked her of its sweet, says both wines are dry. We chose white anyway. She was right but not bad. Hubs got caesar, prime new york and vanilla ice cream, as i got french onion soup, prime new york steak and creme brulee. They gave us basket of bread first. This week was our second time at this restaurant in a few months and both times were fantastic. Juan is a superb host and tended to our meal professionally and kindly! We love the French onion soup lobster bisque, calamari. They had a crabcake special which we tasty. Their salad with goat cheese and beets offers a refreshing complement to the apps . Their mashed potatoes are like eating buttery clouds, and the creamed spinach is a classic. My parents are from NY, live in LA, and this is their favorite steakhouse.
