I like the design of the place is very modern like Frank Lloyd Wright sort of architecture. The bathrooms are amazing I love how they designed them. FOOD is amazing. Checked out Sophia's this past Sunday around 1:30 & it was busy!!! Cool vibe on a beautiful Sunday and very busy but I must say very organized. Being as they recently opened it was packed but the staff did an excellent job of seating you rather quickly once it was your turn. We were handed a menu while waiting in line and got really excited about what we were going to order and unfortunately they ran out of ALL smoothies :( so had to get a coke instead. Everything looked great as I watched the food pass us by while we waited. I ordered the egg sandwich which is served on this amazing soft bread and comes with bacon, avocado, green onions and a slightly spicy sauce. I asked for bacon on the side as did my friend but it seems they forgot to give us any avocado which we didn't notice until the very end. The sandwich was still very good. The tots and that spicy type sauce is on point. We also got one of the fruit/custard pastries from Chaconne which btw just get a pastry they are all so good!!! Very cute new spot. I've been wanting to come for a while but the one time I tried several weeks ago I was put off by the long line out the door. We decided to come back on Sunday but we made sure to come early. Parking wasn't as hard but if you come later in the day it can be hard. I strongly recommend coming before 9 am. By the time we had ordered the line was significantly longer. You order at the counter and then they will seat you. Don't try to sit first and save a table because they have their own system which ensures fairness. I saw someone being asked to move. They have chaconne pastries along with coffee, matcha and smoothies. I had the French toast which was so delicious. I ate half only and split the baked eggs with my sister. I think the French toast can be too sweet if you have it all by yourself but it's so good which the Dulce de leche inside. The baked eggs were so unique, I haven't seen this done anywhere else. They add lemon peel and cabbage which I thought was very creative. I also had a smoothie - I think it was called elixir something. It had beetroot, lemon, ginger and it was very nourishing. Service was good. My only feedback would be that they really clear the table fast so this does not seem like the place to enjoy conversation after a meal. They're so busy so it feels like they want you to eat and then leave fast. They get bonus points for being dog friendly. I look forward to coming back and trying the corn waffle. read more

I've been here a couple of times now and the trick is to go earlier in the morning to get a seat. This place is absolutely darling! Whoever designed this restaurant is a Genius because it is the coolest concept; split diagonally with glass in the middle indoor/outdoor. I've had the French toast, breakfast sandwich, breakfast fried rice, an almond cheese tart, and chocolate croissant. Their coffee is fabulous as well. Everything was delicious but the standout was the breakfast sandwich which comes with super crispy tater tots and some drizzle of yumminess on it. The breakfast fried rice is gluten free and so flavorful! My first bite of the French toast was delicious, however, it has quite a bit of dolce de Leche or caramel in between the layers and it was just too sweet for me. If you order, you might ask for it on the side instead. Not only is it such a great atmosphere to be in, the staff is so friendly. Polite, nice conversations and smiles. Prices are difficult to justify for what you actually receive, and it feels like far more effort has gone into creating an Instagram-worthy image than delivering value or hospitality. What a great spot in Phoenix really close to the airport. Very accommodating since we had just landed in an early morning flight, waiting to check in to our Airbnb and they graciously let us in with our bags and let us keep them in a corner while we ordered as they kept and eye on it. The food was amazing. The egg sandwich that I got was scrumptious along with the tator tots. The mimosas we got for our bride on our bachelorette was refreshing and amazing! We really liked Sophia's!! My mom and I came here this morning. We wanted to go early as we knew it was a popular spot. It was super cute inside. Lots of curved lines kind of looks like the 70s. We got there around 9:30 and there was a line but it wasn't crazy long. While waiting in line they bring you menus to peruse and explain how ordering/seating works. Anna helped us out and she was awesome! The line went pretty quick took us about 25 minutes to get to the front. Anna pulled us to the side and let us order through her. We decided to split an egg sandwich and the French toast and we both got a PB espresso martini. The martinis came out super quick and they were delicious! The pb tequila was such a unique taste and the flavor was rich and creamy. I would go back just for those!! The food came out shortly after. The tater tots that came with the sandwich were perfectly salty and addicting. The sandwich itself was good but the French toast stole the show. They had shade umbrellas and offered cold water which was considerate and was a prelude to the fine service they offer. We had wanted to try the French toast, a signature dish, but they had run out. The menu does warn of this. We tried a few different pastries and I ordered the crust less quiche, more like a frittata to me. All of these were considerably underwhelming. You pretty much have to wait in line to order your food and also wait for a table. We believe who was a manger was super helpful and friendly! She may have been the most accommodating person on the team. She even found a spot for us to sit and also brought me cute cupcake with a candle for my birthday. I had an uncomfortable experience here due to how a legitimate food safety concern was handled. While placing my order, I noticed a bee flying around inside the pastry display case. I calmly mentioned it to one employee, who acknowledged it but did not take action. When nothing changed, I mentioned it to another employee, who appeared to brush it off. Both employees then stepped away briefly and laughed about the situation within my view, which felt dismissive. When I reiterated that a bee inside an open pastry case is unsanitary, the response was defensive and dismissive. The employee said "fine" with an attitude and walked away to address it, all while being in the middle of my transaction. At that point, my order had been taken but payment had not yet been processed. Given the lack of professionalism and how the concern was handled, I chose to leave rather than complete the purchase. Addressing sanitation issues promptly and respectfully should not feel like an inconvenience to staff, and customers should not be mocked or spoken down to for raising reasonable concerns. They precook the eggs in giant batches (open kitchen) which I understand due to the long wait times but when you wait an hour in line and for the food, your expectations naturally go up. I do have to say I really enjoyed the French toast though. The burrito was beyond forgettable unfortunately with a really sus quality tortilla you expect to find far far away from the border. The cold brew coffee was basically water. Overall, I'd maybe come back when or if the hype ever dies down. The food is not worth the wait. The girl at the cashier was uninviting and had the personality of a rock. Made me reconsider eating here before I paid. Food was a disappointment. Egg sandwich lacked flavor and came with cold cheese, cold eggs and avocado was placed on top and not in the sandwich. The French Toast was equally disappointing. I stopped in this morning for an iced Americano. The menu price is $4 but it came up as $5 on the POS. I pointed that out to the cashier and she called a man over (manager?) who corrected it on my order. They resolved it quickly and easily, so no problem there. My concern is how many people are unknowingly being overcharged every day, and how long has this been going on? If you're going there, I suggest you compare the menu price of whatever you order to the POS price so that you aren't being overcharged too. read more

You order at the counter are given a number and then brought your items. My partner and I decided to share the breakfast burrito and the breakfast fried rice. The burrito was overflowing with perfect chorizo and perfectly wrapped in a tasty tortilla. It was served with a side of tator tots topped with a chipotleish style sauce. The breakfast fried rice was an explosion of flavor. Large chunks of bacon, crunchy veggies and flavor packed fried rice all topped with an over medium egg! We had a PB espresso martini and a glass of cava. Both fairly priced at ~$14 and $10. The food was about $36 for the two items. Flor, the owner, was a great help from the moment we stepped inside. She gave us recommendations and made sure our meals and cocktails were just to our liking-- which they were! It was a pleasure to meet her. This place is exactly what Phoenix needs. I've been waiting for this beautiful reclaimed building to open for months an be months. Inside is decorated very simply. Lay out is weird, small movable tables. Doesn't seem like it would be good for large groups, as it would be difficult to fit more than two entree plates per table. Music was way too loud to carry on a conversation and it was absolutely freezing. So cold inside that I was shaking while holding my latte. Counter service lends to a cheapening of the look of the place. I ordered the b breakfast burrito at the recommendation of the "host". Not sure why there was a host, since they don't seat you. I wish I could say it was good. I wish I could say it was bad. It was neither, just unmemorable. The salsa picante was so hot, it blew out my palate, which is why I may or may not have enjoyed the burrito. Portion of tots are freaking huge. Way too much (I know, complaining about too much is stupid) but it was. The vanilla latte with almond milk may be the very best latte I've ever had. I don't know what they did different compared to other coffee houses, but keep it up. Not sure if this one deserves a second chance. Overall, disappointing. read more

Getting a table, FAST! The line was out the door, moves FAST. The ambiance is STELLAR! It is BRIGHT, OPEN AIR, BEAUTIFUL! The salt Shaker wasn't working and then am the salt poured out on my food. My potatoes were replaced, STAT! I received the wrong pastry but was made to feel like yes, that's what you ordered. Got it, leave it and go away. A pastry is a pastry, in not upset, but don't try to play me. My Matcha cold was tasty, NO BITTERNESS. We both had the American breakfast. The potatoes fried to the gods-PERFECT! My friend got tater tots, you can also substitute the waffle tots. I think it's the demeanor of the staff, an odd vibe; 'I want to serve you, but I don't,' I think it's what I felt. I can't call it.
