The service was really great. Attentive staff, but not overbearing. The food was very good. Not the best we've ever had, but delicious. We had the lasagna and the Margherita pizza. There were 4 of us, we all tried something different and we were all extremely disappointed. The more we thought about it the food was simply crap and we should've asked for a refund. The Chicken parmesan was burnt, dry and obviously overcooked and the pasta was dry, with no flavor and dried out on top from sitting around. Mushroom & Meatball lasagna, extremely overcooked. They also gave us a corner piece with was 80% dry noodle with no sauce, no mushrooms, no meat on them at all. Burnt & crunchy on top. The mushrooms were cut up into such tiny little bit they were almost a paste and gsd no flavor, just DRY! Rigatoni was the best dish, though tgst isnt saying a whole lot. The portion size was also pretty small for the price. At least it was not so overcooked and burnt on top but nobody wanted to eat it. Every dish tasted exactly the same like bland tomato sauce and it was overcooked to the point of being burnt and dried out, it was just awful! Ravioli. They gave us 7 small ravioli in a bowl of bland, watery sauce. It was supposed to be a beef broth but there was no beef flavor at all, onlu a hint of salt and very little color. Whatever there a little bit of cream sauce they appeared to have squirted over top was curdled. From the description in the menu we expected this this to be delicious and savory and it was not. The restaurant was only half full when we arrived around 5:30pm and yet it still took over an hour to get our meal. I had to ask for silverware twice, the second time was after the food arrived And I still will not quick and returning to give me silverware so I can eat my meal while it was hot! We had to repeatedly ask for the check and boxes to take our food home to the animals. Nobody ever bothered to ask how our meal was or we would've told them and demanded an extreme reduction in price. To be honest, if my 78-year-old mother had not been with me I would've walked out without paying for that crap! They finally brought the check and promised to print out a copy after I paid but the waiter set a little machine on the table and took off so we have no opportunity to tell him how bad the food was. I got tired of waiting for the waiter to return, and my elderly mother had already left and was waiting at the vehicle so I took a picture if the machine and we just left without a receipt. $89 for a meal for 4 that was no better than a lousy $1 TV dinner! Obviously, we decided against dessert after the meal was so BAD! This was our second visit to this restaurant, the first visit was a hell of a lot better than this one. We will not return to this restaurant ever again, they have proven their food and service is not worth it. I understand that everyone's having a hard time hiring help and especially hiring good help but you do not serve lousy food at those prices and top it off with extremely bad service! read more

Staff isn't to friendly and they are not in the business to make you satisfied but rather take your money. From the wait staff to the chatter in the kitchen, none of them seem to care too much about the food being ordered and eaten. For a traditional Italian restaurant the pizza is a major let down. The edges are crisp, which is good, but the under carriage is doughy and floppy. It's likely their oven base does not get hot enough to create the crispy bottom traditional italian pizza would have. Also way too much corn meal on the bottom as well. Their garlic bread is store bought focaccia, sliced in half with some cheese on top, not worth $10 if you ask me. It's hard to find good pizza in the willamette valley and the coast so I had some high hopes for a restaurant that claims to be "italian". If I were you I'd either ask for the pizza well-done or take your money to one of the many other locally owned restaurants that actually serve you with care and the family run feeling. read more

Very good. We split an order of Calamari. It was prepared well. We preferred the peppercini aioli sauce over the marinara. Both came with the dish. The marinara was a thick tomato paste consistency and taste. We then split a large Caesar salad. Interesting preparation. We liked it. The thing that was different was the addition of crumbled baked cheddar cheese. They still included the requisite Parmesan cheese :) Next, we split an order of the Rigatoni with pork ragu. Very good. We also added an order of roasted mushrooms. We'd eat here again. We'd try the ziti next time. read more

What a wonderful place with a nice vibe. The pasta is house made - even the extruded pasta! I had the casarecce with bolognese and it was lovely. Casarecce is an extruded (pushed through a die) kind of rough twisted pasta that I've never seen before in a restaurant. We came in and ordered three pizzas, two pepperoni and one pork belly. Server informed us about a 30 min wait (it was actually 25 mins). got the text and was informed that the chef misread the ticket and only fired up two pizzas not three. Okay, this is a mild inconvenience, I won't bore the reader with details on it, but here's the onion: instead of cooking us three new pizzas two of them were most likely placed under heat lamps and got hard and very cardboard like. Forgotten pizza, the one we waited on, an extra 25 mins, was the only pizza that was cooked properly. The first two must have been scorched initially or somehow became burnt during the second pizzas cook. I've enclosed a picture. I wasn't going to write this review, which I'd like to title " Twice the Wait, Same Amount of Food" but two of the three pizzas were so burnt they were practically inedible. It was only after about two bites into the burnt pizza I decided to take some pictures. I gave the server a $10 tip in cash and the guy didn't even recognize me, I note this because I was literally his first customer of the day. He offered a very bland apology to me, as he didn't seem to care at all about the whole thing. I'd say one star is generous if I'm being honest. Avoid this place is my advice. read more

Disappointing. I've been looking forward to this restaurant for a long time, following them on Instagram and getting incredibly excited for their NYE tasting menu. We arrived a quarter after 5pm and upon seating was told that one of the main and most expensive items (the one we were most excited about) was no longer available. We were then given a replacement option that was $10 less than the item on the tasing menu making the tasting menu no longer a good deal. We decided to forgo the tasting menu and get al a cart dishes instead. We got our bread and salad quickly after ordering, the foccacia was ok not as crunchy as expected but decent and the cesar dressing could have had more flavor. We then waited for an hour and 1/2 for our pasta dishes, we understand that they were very busy and had few staff but that is a very long wait time for bowls of pasta. Our waitress was very kind and pleasant checking in and Apologized for the wait, though it wasn't her fault. Once our dishes finally arrived, they were very underwhelming, sauce and meat lacking flavor, seasoning and basic salt. The pasta was well made and had a nice snap but the sauces did not do it justice and brought the entire dish down. We were disappointed that they were not prepared with their NYE menu that they have been promoting for over a week on social media and that their dishes overall lack majorly in flavor, salt would go a long way in improving their dishes and could easily be a great resturant if they could improve on the food a bit. read more

Incredible meal. Lasagna had a little spicy kick to it that I loved, and I am not usually a spicy fan. Generous portion, plenty for lunch today too. We had a wonderful Caesar salad, plenty to split for at least two people. Arancini appetizer was fantastic, never had anything like it. Topped it off with the gelato trio. Literally every bite was amazing. This is a special dining experience because of the quality. Staff very nice. Will hopefully go back soon. read more

Wow! That's even an understatement! The handmade pasta was out of this world! I was so surprised and beyond satisfied! Everything about this first time experience was outstanding! The wait staff is amazing - especially a young man with a fun mask and a labradorite necklace (so if he's reading this, you were fantastic!)! The drinks were super good, I had the Peach Madras and my fiancé had two black pepper old fashioned. We started with calamari which was cooked perfectly, and then for entrées he had the meatball lasagna and I had the tagliatelle with clams. We got a pint of the strawberry matcha sorbetto to go. This was an unexpected great find when we were searching for a place to eat. Not knowing what was in town we looked on Yelp. This restaurant didn't really have any meals other than pizza that were vegetarian. When I asked about options the waitress came back and mentioned the chef could adjust some ingredients. My son who eats meat ordered the spaghetti with meat balls and said it was amazing! I ended up getting this dish made vegetarian and it was SO good! The cheese bead and Caesar salads were really good too. Large portion sizes for the meals. Great atmosphere and really a hidden little spot that I just wouldn't have found on my own. We almost went back the next night because the food was so good. Next time we are in town we will come again! The pizza looked amazing too so I want to try that. I waited until my last day of my trip to Oregon to try this place. I love Italian and it had great reviews, unfortunately I did not like it. The salad I ordered was huge enough for 2 people but it did not taste like any Caesar salad dressing I've ever had. Tasted watered down overall it wasn't good. I ordered the fried artichoke appetizer and that was soggy. For my entree I had the lasagna and I was so disappointed. There were like 2 noodles so I basically ate meatsauce and cheese. Tiramisu for dessert and it hadn't any flavor either. A waste of 100$ for me and I was alone. read more

OK this is my second review three years after my first. I went from yuck to rave. It's as if the owner actually considered the review I posted. Food is excellent. Meatballs and spaghetti. Love those meatballs! The acoustics have been greatly improved with the acoustic ceiling clouds. No more cinder block but wood siding and great artwork. Friendly wait staff! Brooke is perfect. My only complaint is the children's corner. If you don't have children and are unfortunately seated near that corner, expect little ones to be infringing on your enjoyment. Keep the kids WITH their parents together over there. Don't separate them and subject the solo dinners with your cranky children. Lol read more

Things have changed here over the last year and not in a good way. The menu has diminished and it's lost its flavor. I recently ordered from here this week and their prices increased, yet the food was not very good. The tiramisu was pretty awful. And 9$ for a few cheese covered focaccia pieces is absurd. I first ate here last year and it was excellent...something has happened and with the jump in pricing on top of a not so good meal, I don't think we'll be trying again. read more

Arrived in Newport hungry, and after being informed of wait times at other local restaurants, we settled for this Italian place where there was no wait. What a delightful surprise! A friendly and responsive server who saw to it that roasted mushrooms were substituted for salami (we're vegetarians) in the arugula and spinach salad which was fresh, quite tasty and easily fed two hungry diners. But the revelation was the Bianca Pizza. Homemade mozzarella, ricotta, fresh basil, Pecorino Romano cheese, garlic confit, garlic chili honey and extra virgin olive oil. Wow!! Savory. Sweet. Spicy. And again, more than enough for two. And the gelato - a lemon and olive oil; a marionberry; and a chocolate cardamom were each terrific. We left Sorella very well fed and happy campers read more

We wanted something besides fish so decided to try this place in the tourist district. It was a pleasant surprise. They had a good non-alcoholic beer, something that is difficult to find in the US, and very good pasta. I have to add an update because we tried so many new dishes on another trip here...we again went on a Tuesday night but this time they were smokin' busy which was great for them! The service took a little longer because there (I think) was only 1 server but she was very nice and still did a good job, she was just slammed!! So we tried the following and everything was again very good but super salty. I thought the salt was just me but everyone at the table said their meals felt salty as well. I drank 3 huge glasses of water before we left the table and two more when I got home. That being said...the ingredients are fresh and in most cases home made and loved their "cheesy" topping on the lasagna and the cheese bread! The table tried the burrata, which comes over a roasted heirloom tomatoes slice and some crisp toast points, the lasagna, the eggplant ( which is like an eggplant parm but not fried...it was filled with house made ricotta and kale and covered in a bread crumb like topping) an order or meatballs, and cheesy garlic bread. Love that they make the cheese (burrata and ricotta) on site or just fresh... and the pasta is nice as well. Nice job! We went for dinner with some friends and had a great time! Our server, Sarah, was super cool and friendly! We had a few cocktails which were nicely portioned and well made!!! And ordered the following for dinner and dessert. On Tuesday's they do $10 spaghetti and meatballs so the boys had a couple orders of that and an extra side of meatballs. This looked good and no one complained then we had two sides of I guess their garlic bread, which is smothered in melted cheeses!! Wow!! Oops forgot the nice bib lettuce salad with walnuts and a well balanced balsamic vinegar dressing! And then we shared a pizza with sausage and arugula and this was yummy too!! Nice thin crust and it was super crispy, which is just the way I like it! And not too saucy or bland... then for dessert which we all agreed was the least successful item we had all evening was the tiramisu...but all in all dinner was good, drinks were nice and everyone was super friendly! read more

Perfect option for elevated but totally accessible Italian food. Great for a romantic early dinner or a fun night with the kids.
