This is our 3rd time here so thought I should at least leave a review! We love this place, tucked away off of main street. We started with the Focaccia plate with olive oil w/seasonings sprinkled on top. The focaccia was amazing but I really missed the traditional olive oil & basalmic vinegar. With just the oil for dipping, it was pretty blah, IMHO. Hubby ordered the Spaghetti & 3 large Meatballs that were about 2" diameter. I ordered the Creste de Gallo ala Vodka w/sausage. BOTH were delicious but after my first 2 bites, my mouth was on fire. I'm a real wimp when it comes to hot spicy foods :( so it was no one's fault but mine (It would be nice though if they would put little peppers next to the spicier dishes). But once again, Hubby rescued me and made me trade dishes with him. Sorella's is clean, the staff is friendly & efficient. We also like the rustic vibe with artwork reflecting the ocean. But, it is STILL our favorite place in Newport!

I knew this was going to be 5 star dining when I asked for a Diet Coke and our server said "got it". (What does the west coast have against Coke?!) Several fountain diet cokes were the perfect appetizer to arancini, garlic bread, and pasta alla vodka. So. Good.

Bravo! This place is very cute, and both servers we talked to were great and personable. It stood out that they had a lot of repeat customers also. The lasagna was great and balanced, and the meatballs were tender and herbaceous. A great find in a small town!

I really wanted to like Sorella! I'm always looking for a great Italian restaurant, however they missed the mark on every dish :( The breadsticks we ordered were inedible due to being raw in the center. The salad was overly drenched in Caesar dressing that the lettuce was soggy. I did like the fry on the chicken parm, however the sauce was very watery. I will be back to give them a second go as they were extremely busy. The food came out fast and the service was very friendly!

    Wall artwork is pretty cool.

We love Nye Beach it is such a hidden gem deep in the bowels of Newport, so I would hate to give this great area away, but this place and each other deserve the recognition and patronage. We have noticed this place before but our timing over the past few years was never when they were open. Every place in Nye beach is fantastic, but this Italian restaurant his hands down the best Italian food I have ever had. The place is not super fancy, but it is very inviting and warm inside, includes a bar and TV along with well-spaced tables. The staff was super nice and obviously very proud of their restaurant, very attentive and always asking how your meal is going. All the food is house made (except the cannoli shells they bring from New York). They make house walnut bitters which they used in an old fashioned and another drink we had. Everything was so fresh, and the tastes were just out of this world. There is definitely a lot of love in the food quality and honestly for such great food the price point was very friendly. In Portland we could have easily paid double the price for this. They also serve pizza, which I will try next time we visit, but I am still craving their wonderful pasta even days after our visit, so it might be hard to try something else ;). If you are ever in Newport head down to see Sorella and the other places in this area, you will not regret the visit at all.

Always a great experience at Sorella! Our favorite night to go is Thursday because their special is discounted pizza and pints, plus, the Lemon Olive Oil gelato is one of the best things I've EVER eaten! We had the sausage & pepper pizza and the pizza alla Norma this time and both were very good! Will be back for a Bianca pizza and gelato soon!

    Lasagna was epic.

Holy schnikies! Homemade sauces and pastas plus amazing cocktails and wine. Everything was incredible, and it's within walking distance of Nye Beach. Wow.

Don't order the pizza. Ours arrived cold, and the sauce seemed like straight tomato paste.

We're talking early 80s... a whole different world. You had folks still hanging on to the 70s like it owed them money bell-bottoms, wild personalities, and people that were just downright funny without even trying. I swear, half the entertainment wasn't even the ice cream, it was just sitting there watching humanity stroll by in all its glory. But let's not get it twisted the ice cream absolutely hits the spot. This is that soul food for the student grind. When studying runs too long, when the day's been rough, when the Oregon heat sneaks up on you, or when you just need a little reset... this is the place. Scoop after scoop, flavor after flavor, it never lets you down. And being right there by the University of Oregon? Come on. There's just something about grabbing a cone on campus that feels right. Timeless. Like it belongs there. Customer service has always been solid, the vibe is iconic, and the whole place carries this charm that refuses to fade. Some things change over the years... this place just keeps being exactly what it should be. Five stars. Always has been. Go Ducks !!

The interior is well-decorated, bright, and clean. When you walk in, there's a spot at the side of the store where you can buy some cute merch. The guy at the counter was very patient with us while we sampled a couple of their unique flavors. The menu can be a little overwhelming on your first visit since there are so many unusual flavor combos to try. We ended up deciding on a split scoop of lavender and honey with bleu cheese and pear (surprisingly so good!!), and a split scoop of strawberry balsamic black pepper with snickerdoodle. The honey lavender is smooth and didn't taste perfume-y at all. The bleu cheese and pear has a great pear flavor mixed with some small chunks bleu cheese - doesn't sound like it'd work well, but we loved it. The snickerdoodle flavor is strong and has soft chunks of snickerdoodle cookie in it, so the lavender and honey balanced it perfectly. The guy did get part of our order wrong, we had originally asked for a split scoop of snickerdoodle/strawberry balsamic and got snickerdoodle/honey lavender. But, it wasn't a big deal since honey lavender was a flavor we liked anyways. We ended up just buying a pint of the strawberry balsamic to go and finished it within a few days. Really yummy! A good place to satisfy your sweet-tooth cravings and more unique than your typical ice cream shop.
