Enjoyed our first time at Sorelle with family. We even had my 2 month old with us and it was not a problem! Our meals were amazing! We started with rounds of wine and margaritas, as well as the bread with olive oil and cheeses. Great app for sharing. The bread was delicious but had a lot of oil in it! Our server brought warm towels for us to clean hands before our main courses arrived. We had scallops, spaghetti, pillows of gold and a fish dish. Everyone was very happy with them meals! Went to Sorelle with my girlfriend for Valentine's day date late on Sunday the 16th. We were both amazed on how amazing the service was and how friendly our server Erin was as well with going over each item and also recommending her favorites as well. The Pane was great. Reservation set for 4 and we were sat downstairs at 2 bar tabletops that were pushed together, felt a little odd at first. We quickly got comftorable and ordered drinks along with the bread. Olive oil was missing the garlic, none the less we finished it. The entrees took over an hour but the wait was worth it ! The truffle pasta was loaded with truffle and all of our plates were clean by the end. To end the night we got two desserts, that well made up for the wait. Tho' they accompanied it with a side dish of tomato /squash type ratatouilli (not as good as the one I make because I add eggplant & bacon or lardons for flavor), the fish was tasteless. I was dying for some of my companion's picata sauce, but he had only enough for his fish. Sorelle provided one of the best dining experiences I have ever had in Charleston. After a bit of hesitation and discussion, my party of four committed to the restaurant's recommended Centro Tavola option along with the wine pairings. You should do the same. Every item on this menu is an absolute winner. The apertivo is generous -- plenty of prosciutto, olives, and cheese to go around. And the bread! Fresh, warm, and delightful. The second course continued the delicious warm-up. The arugula salad was light, peppery, and lemony, and the tuna tartare was tastefully carried by the calabrian chili oil. Then the pasta course hit a grand slam. The zucchini parmesan and the spaghetti were delicious, but the real playmaker was the pillows of gold. Light, fluffy, and creamy, these delicate pieces of ravioli served in "very good butter" were divine -- absolute ambrosia. The meat course continued the home runs. The swordfish picatta was amazing, and the chicken milanese was crunchy, juicy, and filling. For sides, we were served fried potatoes and wilted spinach. They were rich and complex all while feeling like elevated comfort food. For dessert, we had chocolate mousse with hazelnuts and some gelato with honey -- truly a sweet way to end the evening. The service is professional though not without personality, and the sommelier impressed with her knowledge on the wine pairings. With excellent taste (in food, atmosphere, and charm), I have no doubt Sorelle will win a James Beard Award in the near future. read more

First visit -- we are locals. Greeted promptly yet given the "we can't seat you until whole party arrives which in my opinion is BS - I can use that time order a cocktail. However, we were seated fairly quickly. They got our drink orders, and we decided we were going to do the food pairing menu to be able to try multiple items. Before we even had a chance to look over the wine menu to accompany our food, our first course of the food was there; three different dishes at one time and the table is packed. It's was a bit overwhelming. We asked our server and staff to slow it down. While the bites ultimately went very well together - it felt rushed and hectic for no good reason. Second course was our add-on -- caviar. Delish, however it should have been the starter in our opinion. We paired courses 1 and 2 with a dry white called Timorasso and my friend had Prosecco - both wonderful! Third course - three pastas, all homemade and unique distinctive flavors. Fourth course - swordfish piccata style along with the best piece of pork I've ever had. A chutney that added such rich and beautiful flavor. These courses were served with fried potatoes and sautéed spinach . We paired the last two courses with an Italian red (Barbaresco) - I'm rarely surprised with new offerings from sommeliers yet he seemed keen on this one and it didn't disappoint. Worth every splurge penny. Dessert was gelato with pistachios - very tasty! Overall -- Wine list is over priced. Service is a bit chaotic for no good reason. After committing to a $500+ dinner, I didn't want to be rushed and we were - just horrible communication between staff, kitchen and floor managers (despite them wearing IFB earpieces - I mean...) Food is devine so I'm hopeful they work the service kinks out as I eagerly want to go back. read more

My husband and I had a marvelous anniversary dinner at Sorelle on May 9th. We reserved a table in the bar area for a drink before dinner and I think we had 4 different people come to check in on us but not in an intrusive way. Dinner upstairs was phenomenal. We had the intimate 2 top between the windows which was exactly what I wanted. The noise level was tremendously improved from a few years ago, we were able to have a conversation without raising our voices throughout the entire dinner though the dining area was full. Every course was delicious especially the huge pork chop and the pistachio panna cotta. Service was exceptional. The only area for improvement was the bathroom. The light was so dim that my entire face was in shadow at the mirror, couldn't check my makeup, teeth, nada. Sorry but ladies need a bit of light! But that's a small detail in an otherwise delightful evening. A true fine dining experience. read more

I have never written a review until now but did not want this to go unsaid. Came here exactly a year ago for my girlfriends birthday and it was outstanding. Flash forward to this year and it was the exact opposite. It took forever to get noticed by our waiter and when he finally did come over to us, he did not seem thrilled to explain anything on the menu. He rarely came by and took so long we had to order drinks from another worker that we had to flag down (she was great). We finished our drinks and were interested in getting just one more so we again waited and waited until we had to stop him from walking past us AGAIN to order. My girlfriend thankfully got her drink somewhat quick but my beer took at least 20 minutes. By that time, we were both over the dining experience. Unfortunate that I had to write this review just tough to see her not fully satisfied on her birthday. We will try somewhere new next year. read more

Sorelle! We've all heard about it and know it's the hottest new restaurant downtown with a 60+ day resy wait (unless you have Amex concierge so I hear ). Welp, I made my resy's back in early April and our time was last night! My wife and I were greeted and seated immediately. As we walked in we were greeted by multiple people and staff and felt very welcome! They sat us in the main dining room upstairs. First impression was that it was slightly underwhelming decor from what I had heard about it and it was very loud and echoey. Easily overlook that but pointing it out. We had two servers and a sommelier at our beck and call. Very responsive and touched our table multiple times while refilling our waters. My wife and I ordered a ton of food. Too much to be honest lol. Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs! The absolute stars of the show were the eggplant appetizer and pillows of gold (pictured) Easily both top 10 app and entrees in Charleston! The sides were underwhelming (potato's and the greens) I would pass on them next time. My wife's shrimp entree was fantastic and the sauce was outstanding. Good experience overall and I would recommend it. I might sit in the bar downstairs next time to be honest it was just unusually loud upstairs. It was at a shift change and the male employee behind register was simply talking to another employee and could have cared less a customer was waiting. Excellent upscale Italian in downtown Charleston. Melfis is my ride or die fav, but this is a close second now! Both visits have included the whole fam (4 and 6 y/o) and once with my in-laws. We've always felt incredibly welcome and comfortable both times. The FOH manager walked my mother in law inside, all the way to the table on the second floor and made her feel very welcome- I couldn't say enough things about their accessibility which is awesome. The food is outstanding- the pink snapper is to die for, the bread with burrata... the tricolor salad, the desserts... it's all very clean, well presented, well dressed and absolutely scrumptious.
