House made, warm garlic bread with olive oil & garlic was to die for. Olive oil fried potatoes fantastic. Everyone loved their entrees. Swordfish, porkchop & 40 oz steak, cooked to perfection. What another great experience, I joined 5 others for dinner Saturday and was not disappointed. This has to be the best Italian restaurant I have been to in years. The restaurant is so beautiful, from the fresh flowers that you see once you walk in and throughout the restaurant to the dining room which is painted in this wonderful grey that layers the room in sophistication, style and romance. It is truly a treat. The bread service with garlic oil was amazing to start along with the meat and cheeses! The caviar bites, my goodness I could have eaten 10! The best way to eat it, is one bite. We really enjoyed our meal here! We did have to make reservations very far in advance, but when we added a person later, they were accommodating to do so. The Menu has so many sections, there are the small bites, bread and cheese, etc, regular appetizers, salads, pasta and entrees. I would suggest going with a group of 4 so you can try a few things. The entrees are served ala carte, so you'll need to add a side, salad or split a pasta with someone. We were a group of 5 so we were able to try quite a few things, the arancini, stuffed peppers, tortellini pasta, and a salad were all shared. The one salad was large see photo! I had the swordfish, which was delicious and my husband had the cavatelli, same for the other couple and their daughter had the spaghetti. We also shared the olive oil fried potatoes, which are an ABSOLUTE MUST! Not a bite was left! We then splurged with 3 desserts, there was a lemoncello cheesecake special, the chocolate bundino and then the server said the ice cream sundae wasn't too he missed. I really wanted to love this place, but the experience was just OK. Food: Our group shared 4 starters: Arancini, Ostriche Crude (oysters), Burrata, Tuna Crudo. The arancici was excellent, and the burrata was very good. We had most of the pasta dishes: Parpadelle w/ rabbit, spaghetti, pillows of gold, a chef's special seafood pasta with shrimp, crab and lobster, and my entree was the Ciciones. I tried a nite or two of each and the chef's special pasta was the best of the bunch! Otherwise, the consensus was that the pasta dishes were bland and unremarkable. Service: The service was acceptable. It's evident the staff strives to deliver a high end experience but it fell a bit short. 3 of the 4 entrees came together, but the 4th (chefs special) was 6-7 minutes behind. As we started to finish, completely empty plates sat on the table for 20-30 minutes without being bussed as we watched managers, bussers and servers all pass the table with empty hands. All 4 of us noticed the dirty look the server gave us when we declined dessert. Ambiance: Incredible all the way around. This was the most memorable aspect of the Sorelle experience. Beyond the ambiance and aesthetic everything else was supremely average. This meal doesn't crack my top 10 best italian meals in Charleston and there wasn't anything that would bring me back. read more

Best restaurant we've ever eaten at! Yeah, I said it... Stumbled upon this place on a Sunday, the only day they serve brunch, and proceeded to have our minds blown. Rich history, immaculate decor, and endless "zones" for different experiences. Calling it "gourmet" doesn't do it justice. Yesterday I sat at the bar. It's my favorite bar in Charleston and the bartenders are on top of everything. The bartender presented me with the specials of which black truffle tagliatelle was one. I ordered that and it's definitely the best black truffle pasta I've had. The truffle tasted so fresh, and the unique flavor came through. They also put so much on it. The biggest weakness this restaurant has is its steak. Last night I got the wagyu and I've gotten the porterhouse before as well. Both times they just were not something I'll ever crave. I'm not back there to see how it's cooked but I'd prefer the kitchen to take an extra 10 minutes for the steak to rest bc it tasted dry. I also love my steak to have a nice beautiful seared crust on the outside. Half the steak was also cooked medium while the other half was med rare. Idk I rather cook a steak at home. It's amazing tho bc pasta is typically so much harder to cook and they make the best pasta in town. read more

I try to visit Charleston at least twice a year and check out new ( to me) restaurants each time. This isn't hard to do because Charleston has such an evolving food scene. Sorelle did not disappoint! I was only able to book a table near the bar and must say that although the high top chairs are cute they weren't the most comfortable. I recalled seeing something about pizza on Friday but when we didn't see it on the menu we opted to order the octopus and pasta, saving room for the delectable deserts. Everything was amazing! The tortelloni were soft butter little pillows, honestly so perfect! I cannot wait to get back for the pizza, found out it started at 9pm so we were too early but the crowd picked up and there were plenty of happy customers at the bar. read more

I live the atmosphere of Sorelle. The bar area is really nice. I am a vegan so eating here is not worth it. There is nothing on the menu to accommodate vegan plant based eating. They offered me a few sides but I did not find them to be very good and certainly not worth the price. I would go back for drinks but not to eat. Amazing atmosphere in a great part of Charleston. Food was tasty with many different options.

The service here is amazing as is the food. They do have an elevator for those of us who can't navigate the stairs. The wait staff were prompt and happy. The restaurant is beautiful and quite upscale. We went for a birthday and everyone had pasta. Three of us had the pillows of gold and claimed they were very good. I had the baked rigatoni which was also wonderful. I shared with the two guys and they were torn about which pasta they liked better but leaned towards the rigatoni.
