I've never had movers before, but my partner had and when I was looking to hire someone and came across the business on yelp, they told me I should book here. Boy am I glad I did! I booked last minute and the company was more than accommodating. They waived the gas fees which was so nice, and had a very minimal deposit. To make matters even better, they quoted us with incredibly reasonable rates, far better than the other services who provided us quotes. On the day of moving (today), the guys called us bright and early to check in and let us know they were on their way. They arrived at the top of the arrival window, packed up the truck in an hour, drove to the new place, and unpacked in an hour. They took apart and reassembled the bed, kept the mattress clean, and took a great amount of care with our furniture and other items. Everything was wrapped well to keep it from getting damaged, and they had no trouble getting everything upstairs to the new apartment. We bought 5 of these phone booths. They were located in a building in Irvine on the 4th floor. Jose and the guys came and wrapped everything up beautifully with plastic wrap, bubble wrap and furniture blankets. They carefully moved everything, being sure not to damage anything! They even pulled out the cushions and put them in a large cardboard wardrobe box and wrapped those separately. Once they arrived to our facility to drop off, they unloaded and unwrapped everything. The company we bought the booths from required us to have insurance, and that we used a licensed movers. These guys came in clutch and had the right qualifications to do the job properly and safely. I really appreciate their hard work! Would highly recommend to everyone! read more

I had a disappointing experience with these guys as a return customer wouldn't recommend them to anyone. I scheduled both myself and my boyfriend for separate moves and we both had issues. For my own move the movers (Gerardo and Gerardo) overall did a good job but they didn't wrap my upholstered bed frame so it was dirty when it arrived at the new address. The worst part though, was lack of transparency with pricing. If you move more than 10 miles apparently there is a CA state law where they charge you a double drive time. However this additional fee was never made known to me when I was getting my quote so I contacted the coordinator Sarah who pointed out that the fee was mentioned in the contract. I went to look myself and it was briefly mentioned in the small print at the bottom of the page, and not included in the section specifically dedicated to fees and extra charges. For a company that markets themself under the principle of no hidden fees this felt very shady. Sarah then basically told me I was in the wrong for not "asking for more info" when I got the quote, as if that would be something that should be expected of the customer. Then when my boyfriend had his move with the same company a few days later, his lead mover Armando tried to tell him that there would be an additional charge for them to bring his desk up a spiral staircase to the loft area. They backed down on this when he told them that I had completed my move with this same company just the previous week and my movers had hoisted a couch up to the loft and there was no mention of any additional charge. He also told my boyfriend there would be a drive charge for them to get back to the warehouse which is insane and my boyfriend just told him he wouldn't be paying that. I don't know if this guy was just trying to make a little cash in the side but once again- super shady. Definitely AVOID this company! read more

We just recently moved and once again, used SOS Moving Company to help us. More specifically, we requested the spectacular team of Team Leader, Ilberto, Benny (also a Team Leader in his own right), Andres (the Driver), Juan, and Freddy. These guys work like a Special Forces Task Force Unit. Please do not underestimate this team. They very carefully handled my treadmill (which is very dear to me) and I would trust them with it every time. On my first move, they moved it to the 2nd floor. This time they moved it to the basement. With that, miscellaneous furniture, dining table, kitchen hutch, they never nicked or hit a wall. All my walls and doors were completely undamaged. In regards to the furniture, they re-assembled furniture (which I had in storage) I had in better fashion that the doors of my kitchen hutch closed even better than before! A comment I must mention regarding storage is that this very team was the very same team that put my belongings in storage last year. Ilberto, Team Leader, wanted to ensure that everything was packed tightly and safely so that I would not have to rent another storage unit since I was already renting 4 units. As promised, Ilberto packed my one storage unit filled with disassembled furniture from floor to ceiling! Yes, his team did save me money. Ilberto was also very keen to advise me what ways he could save me money regarding the use or the lack of use of boxes. He and his team will not hesitate to use the necessary supplies such as boxes, tape, plastic wrap, etc. to ensure the safe delivery and packing of items. However, the team also let me know what options I had and how much it would cost. They are very honest. I could go on and on about these guys, but would just say that this is the team you want to book with SOS Moving. We recently hired this moving company for a ~70 mile move, and we were happy with the service. Our crew was made up of Kips, Ilia, and another mover. All three were extremely professional, polite, and hardworking throughout the entire day. The move took about 7 hours in total, including travel, and they handled everything with care. They did an excellent job disassembling and reassembling large furniture pieces, making sure everything was set up properly at the new place. I arranged SOS Moving on behalf of a friend, and while I appreciated their upfront rates and the many positive Yelp reviews, the actual experience left us very disappointed. The issues started the morning of the move when one of the workers called me sounding rushed and distressed, demanding to speak directly with my friend in a very insistent tone. This set the tone for the rest of the day. From my friend's perspective, the service was lacking in several key areas: (1) Items were dropped off haphazardly with no organization or care. (2) One mover complained with attitude that we "should have asked for 4 movers instead of 3," even though SOS themselves assured us beforehand that 3 would be sufficient given the description of the job. (3) Directions on where to place items were ignored, and bedding was lost in the process. (4) Despite the mishandling and missing items, the movers were persistent about asking for a tip. To their credit, the crew worked very hard physically, but the move stretched into a 10-hour job and the professionalism was not what we expected from a company with such strong recommendations. When I reached out to address it, they initially denied any responsibility. Only after I told them I had photo evidence with timestamps proving it happened during the move did they finally admit it and offer to fix it. But by then, it was too late -- my lease had ended and I had already returned the keys to the unit. I requested a reasonable $300 refund for the damage they caused, based on repair estimates. They ignored me and offered no reimbursement. I had to file a credit card dispute to try to get anything back, and they still pushed back, despite clear documentation. This company does not take accountability, does not operate with integrity, and has no respect for your property or your time. Save yourself the stress and go with a mover that's actually professional and honest. SOS Moving is neither. UPDATED COMMENT TO BUSINESS'S RESPONSE: The wall damage was not pre-existing -- I have timestamped photos showing the wall before and after the move. Your team initially denied responsibility and only offered to send someone to fix it after I mentioned I had proof. If you didn't cause the damage, why did you offer to fix it? There was no "discount" given. This is false. Your team rounded the time up by 30 minutes, and I corrected the overcharge. That was not a courtesy -- it was a billing error. I never signed anything stating the wall was damaged beforehand. It was only after I pointed it out that your team suddenly began identifying "imperfections" on my furniture -- clearly in an attempt to deflect blame. Also, I've reached out to your team multiple times with no response. That's why I'm leaving this review now. The work is good but the workers are not honest. I put a deposit up on my credit card when I booked the move. On the day of the move 2 guys show up and tell me the pricing again. Stating that the cas price would be cheaper than credit. So they finish the move and I ask how much was it and he said that I had to sign to stop the clock. He stated that my total was $322.00 and I gave him a $ 20.00 tip. They were only at my house for an hour. I had to pay for a 3 hrs. min @ 139.00 cash price. When I sign there is nothing showing a price I just sign. I am just taking his word on the price. Later I call the office and ask for a receipt and she sent me the receipt and it stated that I only owed $297.00. Which I paid him $322.00. So there is a $35.00 difference. So I call the office twice to see about my money and I have not gotten it. Michael started that the worker said it was a tip. So I tip $55.00 for 1 hour of work no I didn't. I normally don't write reviews, but I wanted to share my experience with SOS Moving because they honestly did a fantastic job. They were scheduled to arrive at 8am. Around 7:30, I got a call letting me know they were running about 15 minutes behind and would be there by 8:15. and sure enough, they showed up exactly at 8:15. That kind of communication and punctuality is rare these days, so I started the move already impressed. We chatted throughout the day. The crew was super fast, efficient, and very flexible throughout the whole process. I'll admit I was probably a little picky. I asked them (just once) to please wipe their shoes before coming inside. They smiled, no problem at all, and just got to work. Unloading and unpacking went very smoothly. They were careful, cleaned up after themselves, and were mindful of the walls and stair railings. Honestly, I was fully expecting a few scratches or dings....but everything was perfect. At one point, I asked them for a favor to assemble a small drawer. I was missing some screws and told them not to worry about it. But somehow, they had extra screws on hand and just took care of it for me right then and there. Totally above and beyond. I know there are a lot of movers out there, but these guys really stood out. I actually just found SOS through a random Google search, and even the person who took my call was super helpful and clear on pricing. My office used SOS moving today and I was so impressed picking up files from storage. They were 10 minutes early to the warehouse 40 miles away, took time to wrap the pallets of boxes so nothing fell off, and worked hard and fast in the heat. Then they had a long drive to my office and because of a small elevator took dozens of trips bringing in boxes to the file room.
