A local recommended this spot to me and told me it was a great location for excellent food, drinks, and an upscale experience for a Saturday night. They were definitely right. I came with a party of 9 and made a reservation a few hours before. We arrived before 8 pm, which was before the DJ started playing. Although we were seated in the front, the music wasn't too loud once the DJ started playing. He had a nice mix of 2000s R&B, local artists, and some of today's hits. People occasionally line danced, which created a nice vibe. The food, marketed as tapas, was in pretty large portions that seemed to be better suited as individual meals. Everyone in my party who ordered food thoroughly enjoyed their orders, which included shrimp with Gouda grits, cornbread, macaroni & cheese, truffle fries, and chicken and waffles. Everyone also loved their cocktails. I had the Southside Shawty (vanilla vodka, elderflower liqueur, pineapple, sugar), which was perfectly balanced and not too sweet. 5/5 for Food and Service! Everything had was delicious! The cornbread is a must have! Its cake-like taste is unbeatable with the pecan butter, absolutely delicious! The chicken wings were crispy with a light sweet heat sauce, not drowning in the sauce. The shrimp tacos have good flavor, but they were a bit overwhelmed with the slaw/corn toppings, so took some off and also be advised that the shrimp are cut up in the taco, not whole. Now, I do think the cut up way allows for more shrimp in each bite, so I wouldn't call it a bad thing. I only had a taste of the pot roast and thought the flavors were well balanced. The music is quite loud inside since it's a lounge, so be prepared and try to get a seat not close to the DJ if that's an issue for you. It's an adult crowd so people are having a good time but not getting out of hand like they've never been anywhere The menu isn't overwhelming but it's a decent variety of choices. Last couple of hours in St Louis before we head back to California and we stumbled upon this spot. We found parking right in front so why not!! Walked in and we were greeted immediately and seated. We placed our orders at the same time but for some reason my friends food arrived like 10 minutes before mine did..... Friend said that his waffles were cold and by the looks of it he wasn't lying as the butter was not even melted, however he did enjoy the wings. I ordered a breakfast bowl and that was good. We decided to order drinks and this is where it went to the left, because again my friend got his drink like 10 min after we ordered it and then I didn't get my drink for about another 10 min after my friend got his drink. Our server noticed and did say she was going to follow up on my drink and then eventually she ended up making the drink herself.. So our food did not arrive at the same time nor did our drinks arrive at the same time. Ambiance over all is nice, the decor and set up is a vibe. The chicken definitely sweet and spicy with a good crunch but juicy at the same time. The waffle was good but seemed a little too sweet to me but was definitely good too. The service was ok our waitress would forget what we asked for so we're waiting for things longer at times. However when we reached out to other people they were able to help us. I went to this restaurant for the first time a couple weeks ago for brunch. So this review is only on my experience during brunch. I can confidently say that the food was the absolute best brunch I have had all 2026 and that is no exaggeration. The menu was stocked full of yummy items. So we attempted to get most of them to try to test out the food. We had the shrimp and grits, which was super good and savory. Also had the Soulfood eggrolls which had turkey, greens, yams, macaroni and cheese stuffed in it. I got emotional eating them! I also have the chicken and waffles, which was really good. The waffle already had a sweetness and almost taste like a funnel cake. So I really didn't have to put any syrup on it. The chicken was super good and well seasoned. We also had the Biscoff French toast, which was absolutely amazing. I love Biscoff cookies, so to have That with FrenchToast was awesome. The drinks were perfection. The bartenders knows how to make off menu drinks as well, which is a plus in my book. I am pleased to see the proprietor hires seasoned professionals and not just friends who need jobs. The cocktails are creative. My Drunk In Love was spectacular. A professional bartender makes a difference. The food is great. I was disappointed that they were out of the Shrimp & Grits, the one dish I really wanted. A soul-food restaurant out of Shrimp & Grits? The dessert, advertised as Blueberry Cobbler, is really a blueberry torte or a deconstructed blueberry pie. Came with a party of 10 on Friday. The table was ready and reserved. They allowed us to be seated as we entered (everyone was not there at the same time) which I appreciate! Our waitress, Tiffany I believe, was very nice! We tried everything on the menu. The food is ok. Everything that came to the table was warm which means the food was sitting and waiting to be brought to us for a while. I've been to Soul 2 Soul numerous times in the past and NEVER, NEVER, received the kind of service my Caucasian friend and I received today. We both placed our orders at the same time--mind you, the table next to us was empty. First, our appetizers took forever to reach the table (toast & fried potatoes). Then, MY order was eventually brought to the table (snd I strss MY order). I ordered a waffle sandwich. Mind you, neither my nor my Caucasian friend's orders were complicated. I elected not to eat UNTIL my friend's order had reached the table. Well, we waited and waited, and waited for his order, which never came. By this time, the table next to us became taken by three females who proceeded to order (AND RECEIVED) their three meals, which were much more complicated to prepare than my Caucasian friend's order. The three females at the table next to us proceeded consuming their food while my friend and I continued to wait on his order. Again, I chose not to eat my meal UNTIL my friend's order had arrived. So, for OVER an hour, neither one of us ate our respective meals--just the appetizers of toast and fried potatoes. As my friend's host (and the one who had talked-up the goodness of the restaurant to my friend), I felt it my responsibility to inquire into the delay of my friend's meal to the waitress--to no avail. My my food was even brought out without my friend's meal being brought out simultaneously was baffling to both of us. I've NEVER been to a restaurant where one person's meal in a party was brought out before the entire party's meals. Eventually, getting nowhere, and STILL without my friend being served his meal, we simply shared my meal & canceled his order. Soul 2 Soul purports to be a black-owned business, and I have no doubt it is not. My friend was the only Caucasian customer in the entire restaurant from what I saw. I would hate to think that our poor service experience had anything to do with him being Caucasian, but when I see black folks at nearby tables--who were not there anywhere near the length of time my friend and I were there--when I witness the (and other blacks at nearby tables) ALL receive their orders before my friend ever received his, I can't help but wonder if my Caucasian friend's was the victim of reverse racism. For the longest, I've always heard how blacks (supposedly) cannot be racists. Well, I beg to differ. If you are a black person such as myself, do NOT bring your Caucasian friends, family, associates or co-workers to Soul 2 Soul--they won't be served their orders. SHAKE MY DAMN HEAD. read more

Ooooh I wish I had this spot in Atlanta! Not bougie but the standards were appropriate, I felt like I was surrounded by adults who chose to dress and be seen. The vibe, the music and the FOOD! Everything is top tier. The outdoor seating area has a fire pit and a dance floor surrounded by comfortable patio umbrella covered tables and seats, to the perimeter the spaces get a bit more cozy. I just wish I could come back to see how it flourishes. Oh and lastly, the personable service! I never had to search for someone to take a drink order or ask for a menu. After some deliberation, we decided on Soul 2 Soul, located at 5917 Delmar Blvd, near the Loop. Ambiance & Service From the moment we arrived, we were impressed. Parking was easy with free street parking available. The exterior of the restaurant is lush, and you can smell the delicious food before even stepping inside. The vibe is a mix of upscale dining and a sexy lounge, making it a great spot for a night out. Despite our large group of about 15, we were seated right away, and the staff was incredibly accommodating. The service stood out--our host even ordered a copy of my mother's book, which was such a thoughtful touch! The staff was diverse and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. Drinks & Food The drink menu looked tempting, and I heard great things about the Porn Star cocktail. When it came to the food, I was pleasantly surprised by the reasonable pricing--most dishes were under $20. The portions aren't huge, but the quality matches the price. I ordered the pot roast with mashed potatoes and veggies, and it was delicious! The gravy with the mashed potatoes was especially good. I also got to try the turkey, which was flavorful, and my mom had the chicken and waffles, which she enjoyed. The chicken had a spicy, Korean-style kick to it. We were looking for places to grab a quick bite and I remembered this from Instagram. Cage here shortly after the opened and were able to get a table very quickly. Our servers were really nice and informative. One was in training and she was very friendly. They went over the tapas style menu and offered some suggestions. We decided to order 4 plates total (expecting we'd order two more if we weren't full, but that was a no-go). Ordered the turkey dumplings, chicken & waffles, sweet potato poutine and turkey dumpling bowl. Whew!!! Everything was really good. I've been to tapas restaurants in the past and these potions were really filling. My favs were the poutine and dumpling bowl. It's hard to find good poutine, and adding in sweet potato fries can go really left but theirs was very flavorful. The pot roast was really good (gravy ) the meat could've been a little more tender but overall good dish. It was my first time in town and was told this would be a great place to grab dinner with my girl. I sad to say I was disappointed in the value of food and what I had to pay. The food was not good. The only thing that me and my girl liked was the roast beef but still even with that the veggies on the place were hard and not soft to chew through. The waffles were dry with no syrup on it and the wings were party wings and did not go well with the waffles. The sweet potato fries did not feel like they were cooked all the way to me. The corn bread was really basic. There was nothing special and tasted like it was from straight from the box. I will say the best part of the restaurant is the vibe. I loved the R&B vibes they have in the place and the intimate space. They really out did themselves in those areas. We were heading from a photo shoot in Forest Park and came across this location after a quick Google search. Once inside, the ambiance appeared nice, and the server was friendly. It was a Sunday around noon, so we were hopeful for a soulful lunch or brunch. Sadly, the menus were strictly limited, and the items listed weren't particularly impressive. We went with chicken and waffles. Umm, the wings were very small; however, the waffles were flavorful. A few people came in to sit down but left because of the limited menu. Second the food and drinks were amazing but however didn't know it turns into club soul 2 soul after 9. Also for my first time there I was NOT made aware that they add the tip to your bill at 20% after nine. Which my party of 3 got there way before 9. Checks were even printed before 9.
