What a charming coffee shop and it can continues to be an awesome place. We went there on Fourth of July and the line never stopped, but there were still places to eat. People were keeping the tables clean. The vibe was great. The food is so good. We had the well-known drink. The cliffside was delicious and I got the vanilla cold foam on a latte and it was so good. We ordered the bruschetta and two fried eggs and a peach slab. Everything was great. Highly recommend it.

Great spot in Santa Cruz! The vibes, the coffee, the location, the food! A crowd pleaser!

The ambiance was great lots of outdoor seating. Family friendly. The service was quick. The food was good simple. I was excited about the coffee i think the espresso grind may need to be adjusted it was not smooth. My friend ordered a quad shot and her drink came out very milky. I would come back and give it another try. I am a true coffee drinker . I love the smell of the beans roasting. I appreciated the organic milk being used everything was great quality .

This review is for to go coffee and pastries. Be prepared to wait in line for awhile. Yes it's popular and there are lot of people working making coffee drinks and in the kitchen and serving food. Everything stops at the one cashier in a line that goes out the door and around the corner. We went on. Sunday and wanted coffee drinks and pasties to go. It's the same line that you would order if you are dining in. The cashier does everything from taking the order to getting pastries out of the case. Surely she can use a teammate. The drinks were on point. Ordered a charcoal latte and dirty chai. The almond lemons cake piece was tiny for $7.95. Banana choco walnut for $4.75 was better. Be prepared to pay 75 cents more for almond milk or oat milk substitute. Not worth a long wait just for coffee and pasties. Maybe next time will try some of their breakfast items as a sit down.

It is a busy, hectic place, but that also says a lot about how much people like it. No matter when I come, it usually seems packed: inside, outside, and in the different seating areas. I usually have to circle around a few times before I can figure out where I might find a corner to sit down and get some work done. It is not the calmest place to work, especially during busy times, but once you find a spot, it can be a nice place to settle in with coffee and a laptop. The biggest selling point is definitely the location. It is right by the beach in Pacifica. Soul Grind is also Pacifica's first coffee roastery, and they roast their coffee in-house, which gives the place more personality than a standard coffee shop. The whole vibe is very beachy, casual, and local, with a mix of surfers, people grabbing coffee after being near the water, and others trying to work or meet up. They have a pretty large coffee menu, plus food options like pastries, sandwiches, quiche, melts, and breakfast items.

This was my second visit to this casual cafe spot. I didn't write a review on my first visit because it was a bit of a letdown. One, the customer in front of us took a long time deciding what to order and we missed the weekend brunch menu by 8 minutes. Two, the cashier gave us the wrong number card so the staff couldn't find us to deliver our food. And three, though this was a cafe style place, customer service was subpar. We decided to give it another try because there must be a reason why this place was always busy. Came a bit early this time. The line was long but was moving fairly fast. There is QR code for the menu so I'd say check it out while you wait in line for at least 20 minutes! It will help to expedite your ordering process once you get to the cashier. There's a good amount of seatings both indoors and outdoors. A good spot to leisurely enjoy your meal if you're not pressed for time. I have had the Vietnamese iced coffee which was very good. This time around had the Cubano (their specialty latte) which was smooth, balanced, and so good! I was able to order the Irish breakfast this time that was only offered on their weekend brunch menu and only until 2pm. We waited a while for our food. And when we finally did, it was not even warm. This was a bit disappointing! The saving grace were the roasted potatoes and sautéed mushrooms that came with my breakfast dish. They were very good. The side salad that accompanied the Lorraine quiche was also very good. I would come back to this cafe definitely for the Cubano, the Ube cream puff, and maybe try some other pastries. As for the breakfast... 67

Yelpers did not let us down on the recommendation! Soul Grind has it ALL! Great service, amazing ambiance, and delishous food and coffee! We had our (nearly) standard almond milk decaf lattes. They were creamy, with nutty-warm coffee--and they even made pretty designs, which is challenging with almond milk. W ordered the almond croissant which was flacky, buttery, and had just a bit of almond spread. I had the salmon toast, which is served on a wheat sourdough bread and includes a light layer of cream cheese, cucumbers, tomatoes, chopped red onions, and capers. This was seriously the best salmon toast I've ever had. I split it with W and was a bit sad about that, but that's how much I love him. The toast came with a side salad of mixed greens. I wasn't expecting much but the vinaigrette wowed me! Not over dressed and they used a citrus, which I'm fairly confident was grapefruit. Yum! Since we split my toast, I was still hungry, so I went back for more food. It's so hard to choose because everything looks so good. So I went back to the pastry case and ordered the blueberry clafoutis. I've never had this traditionally French desert but heard about them on cooking shows. This version was made with a shortbread crust and had cherries inside the smooth and creamy custard, topped with fresh and sweet blueberries. Next time your in or driving through Pacifica--dont miss Soul Grounds!

I was VERY impressed by the food here! We just stopped by to eat after surfing so we were very hungry. Here are my thoughts: Food: their coffee was fine, I was expecting more because they specialize in roasting their beans I assume but it was still great coffee. Can't complain there. The food was the absolute best. High recommend their waffles and sandwiches. We tried so hard to figure out what was so different but we settled on everything from their waffle to their whipped cream to their syrup, was top notch! Service: the people there are nice, they clean up their tables quick so we were able to find a table fast for our party of 7. Ambiance was great they have a pretty big seating capacity, both indoor and outdoor seating were available.

This is an ideal breakfast or brunch spot located just about on the beach. If you want an epic morning, come here when they open around 7am so you can watch the fog burn off as the sun rises over the hills. They do the old school display of having the real dishes out on display (mimis cafe, anyone?) which I find absolutely endearing. It helps you understand the portion sizes and no one is caught off guard once you get your food. We've gone here a few times in the last month and we got the same food items each time. Avo & egg toast - 5/5 - the bread alone is 5/5. It's hard boil eggs, avocado, tomato, with dressed greens on top of rustic bread. It's both hearty and light at the same time. Buddha bowl- 5/5- husband raves about it every time. The tomatoes and quinoa are the stars in my opinion. Deliciously roasted tomatoes with quinoa is a delicious dressing. Quiche Lorraine- 5/5- no edits necessary The pastries! Ok, so 3/5- I'm not sure if it's their proximity to the ocean/ humidity but their croissants taste wet without that buttery flaky crisp. I would not come for the pastries but the coffee and meals are

From what I've hear this is a local favorite and for a good reason. Local coffee roasters, wonderful coffee, and pastries. Ample parking with indoor and outdoor seating. The chocolate croissant is amazing! Paired with their coffees or matcha delicious. The area is very busy and there were lots of people here we almost couldn't get a seat inside. The food items we had were decent. My sister had trouble eating her sandwich because it was so big and Ive had better lox. This place is truly an experience with local surf shops Nextdoor it's work stopping by to explore. I really enjoyed coming here and I would recommend if you're in the area.

Whoa! I'm coming back for their breakfast for sure! We swung by for coffee and there was a huge line out the door to order. We were probably 15th in line when we had a thought to order our coffee online instead. We did so, got out of line, and went straight inside to wait for our drinks at the pick up area. We waited and waited and waited for about 20 minutes but we're trying to be considerate of how busy they were, so we sat there in front of the bar just chatting (hoping we would hear our names for our drinks after given a 10 minute approximate wait time online.) After all that time, someone decided to ask us what we were waiting for (2 lattes!) and then told us that we should've checked in with the baristas earlier. Otherwise, they won't make the drinks if they don't know that you're already there. What a weird way to operate!

Great drip coffee and food options. The workers all give great customer service! Ambulance is nice because they play music that I like to vibe to. The only issue is they have kind of a long line when you get there from time to time so it's better to order online for pick up if you don't have a lot of time.

I'm writing this review after visiting soul grind for the second time and I think I've found my new favorite cafe!! I absolutely love the vibes of the space and the location right on the beach is sublimee. My first visit I had the gingerbread latte (seasonal) and I was pleasantly surprised by how smooth the espresso was even thought I had decaf! The space was busy even on a weekday but we were able to find the perfect spot by the coffee roaster to get work done. The WiFi has a 2 hr limit and a 1 hr blackout period so plan accordingly if you wanted to get work done here. My second visit was early on a Monday morning and it was a little slower (no line out the door) but the cafe quickly filled up after 9 am. I had the Spinach and Mushroom Quiche which was delicious and came with a small side salad. A little steep in price but I think worth the experience. I also tried their chai with oatmilk and loved how spicy it was! The chai and quiche was $20. Plenty of parking on a weekday. And again so beautiful on a sunny day in Pacifica!

If they're busy, they might forget to call your name and you'll need to go get the food yourself, which is frankly impossible to fathom when you come from San Francisco. But Pacifica is different, y'know?   Anyway.  ------------------------------ First, the turkey sandwich. 5/5 I'm guilty of expecting the meat to be the focus on a sandwich, but in this case the turkey was the filler, which, as a carnivore, is there a better meat filler? Bread, dijon, lettuce, turkey, queso. The dijon did for flavor what the lettuce did for texture, throwing in a twang that kept the sandwich interesting. Its creaminess tag-teamed with the cheese to keep the sandwich in one piece. Great sidekicks. The turkey was... Nothing special. Clean but mundane, for the star of the show was the bread.    Some of you might roll your eyes.  No shiet, Sherlock.  THIS. IS.  A bakery.   Cuz some of you might roll your eyes.  It's just bread.    But this isn't wonder-bread. It's dense. It's got a chew.   The sourdough is minimally sour, hearty, with a thick, hard crust, and made matrimony with the turkey. A lil bit of salt, the slightest tang, tango-ing into a single texture. Those of us who've had an egg sando in Japan understand how the softness of the egg salad made the softness of the bread fundamental. The turkey here wasn't slipping anywhere, though it complimented the meatiness of the bread. This, sandwich, needs, teeth.    I hope you weren't expecting to eat turkey without teeth. Perhaps that's tofurkey you're thinking about.   The crust was hard too. A well supported, almost crunchy hardness, and a far cry from the st-ale pork rind that the free bread in Mont-real would remind you of. I ended up turning the sandwich sideway as if I was enjoying a taco.   The best panera you'll get and a supreme sleeper.   ------------------------------ The second sandwich: 4/5 The sesame studded hoagie, on the other hand, was nothing short of Guns N' Roses. This sub had a KISS of intensity from the seared meats, a KISS of spice from the mayo and capocollo, a KISS of sharpness from the provolone, and a single leaf of romaine to give that little crunch and freshness, so you can tell your mom that you ate your veggies. There's going to be a rock concert in your mouth. With each element in a bit to prove their existence, it ended up being too intense for us. With these all being strong flavors, it's amazing that you could still taste everything. And they work well together. It's just that your taste buds will send an SOS, walking out of a Black Sabbath concert feeling a bit drained, like Spongebob breaking down after working the tables at Squidward's five star restaurant. The crustiness of the roll, the studded texture of the sesame, the meat escarpment slipping out, you will have no more desire for thee. Water. Something to cleanse the mouth.   If you're one of those among us who gets sweet emotions eating curry without naan or rice, this could be your bad medicine.   * Keep it simple, stupid.

Got there around 7:03 (they open at 7) Looked in the case & didn't see the hot dog danish so I asked the young lady if they're out & she didn't know what I was talking about. Apparently she had no idea about the hot dog danish - so I stepped outside and called my husband and look on their IG to see if I was in the right place. Both confirmed I was - then I walked back in and she looked confused still & said they will probably be out later at lunch with the pizza - so I told her I'd walk back around 11-12. So I'm on my phone 3 hours later around 10am and I see the Hot Dog danish is sold out. extremely bummed over here. I literally could not stop talking about this danish to my husband then for it to be sold out before she said they would be set out - Really wish the young lady knew more about what was being served on 4th of July as she was clueless.

I had the smoked salmon panini and my buddy had spaghetti with meatballs. The Panini was good. The French fries were very good. My friend reported that the spaghetti was disappointing. Service was excellent and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. There are not very many tables here, so plan for takeout on the busier nights. I plan to grab something and head down to Winters. Parking is easy enough and if you go for lunch it's a nice neighborhood for a walk afterward. You're just a few blocks from the seawall. Where this place can improve is by giving us a more "home cooked" touch. It's the difference between good cafeteria food and my friend's Italian Nonna making us dinner. Give us that home-cooked Italian comfort. I would have given 3 stars, but that 4th star is because the prices are a good value, and that is important nowadays. However, I would be willing to pay more for higher quality dishes. Give it a try. On my next visit, I will try the chicken piccata.

More recently, I also hit a small bad beat jackpot for roughly $450 table share, which kept the experience exciting. I was introduced to "the dark side" aka baccarat here and ultimately lost around $50,000 over time. There were many times when I was up though, which really feeds into the dopamine and adrenaline receptors. Generally, when I win - I tip the staff generously because I think of myself as a philanthropist. Anywho, very engaging and exciting environment, but also a clear reminder that gambling should be treated strictly as occasional entertainment. I think of the loss as paying for someone's salary - so technically I'm the boss xD The dealers, floormen, service staff, and security are consistently professional, and the games are well-run and active. The night shift management can feel cold or unwelcoming toward players who are not actively gambling. I understand the perspective, though, as other patrons may not appreciate lingering presence if someone is not playing. Overall, the room runs well, but the customer experience at night can feel uneven depending on management and expectations.

And it hits every time! Over the years, I have slowly grown out of only ordering the longsilog (longanisa, egg, rice hold breakfast combo). However, it's still delicious. I just don't remember it being the price it is now. Will I still be there? Hell yeah! (side note, they have some of the best halo halo). halo halo the ice is melted shaved ice texture, not sweet at all, you choose either mango or ube ice cream inside, jellies, and rice cereal. (I'm going off memory here, so the rice cereal might be incorrect. just order it, you won't regret it!). soft scrambled egg with shrimp and rice this is in the rice plates section on the menu (I had to look it up, I never noticed it before). the sauce was slightly sweet but the meal was completely destroyed. fried chicken I mean; never thought it would be GOOD, but my boyfriend was so adamant about me testing it.. and it's delicious. crispy skin (almost like chips), juicy, flavorful, and with mangtomas sauce!! longsilog my tried and true? ugh, the suka too (vinegar), incredible. garlic rice? always a huge and delicious portion. god I miss it. bangus sisig bang-oose. milkfish for those that don't know. ugh, the jalapeno, tomato, lime!! and the flavor on this? I could marry it. it's also a favorite in the family, so we order this almost every time we see it. the skin? crispy. amazing every time. you're gonna come here for the gambling, but might as well eat some good food while you're here too.

Although I had been mildly curious about Chit Chat Cafe after passing by them numerous times over…read morethe years, I'd be lying if I said it ever grew into an actual urge. Sure, I'd be more than happy if I was already out this way, but never enough to drive here from SF. However, after seeing all of the recent news about the damage at the Pacifica Pier and how their sister location over there needed to be torn down, we knew we had to come out here to lend our support! And, from the looks of things when we got here, plenty of locals have been doing the same! Compared to the times I've walked by in the past, this place was packed when we dropped in for lunch. Between the handful of college kids posted up to do work, some folks reading with their coffee and tea, some families with young kids, customers like us grabbing a bite, and the steady stream of regulars and locals coming in to grab their orders to-go, it was so heartwarming so many people here to show their support. So many, in fact, that over half of their menu board of breakfast sandwiches, salads, sandwiches, and bagels was sold out by the time we ordered (or shortly thereafter)! -- CUBANO SANDWICH - Ham, Smoked Pork, Yellow Mustard, and Pickles on a French Roll...$17 When I see "Cubano", I order the Cubano and thankfully, this one was great! Despite not being super traditional (it's not pressed and the pork was pulled apart), the mix of both meats was moist and really flavorful. Plus, this was so cheesy! -- LANDSLIDE - Egg, Cheddar, Arugula, and Chipotle Aioli with Ham (+$3)...$9 Sadly, they were out of brioche buns, so I didn't get the full experience, but at least I was able to snag their last jalapeno cheddar bagel, which was pretty good. I also liked how well everything complemented each other, though, I wish the ham was spread throughout the bagel. -- HOUSE COFFEE...$3.50 (Med) Nothing special, but no less solid. The coffee felt like a medium roast and it had a nice punch of caffeine to it, even if it wasn't quite as robust as I usually prefer my cup of joe. Along with their tasty sandwiches and the friendly service (all of the workers were so nice), the other thing I like about Chit Chat Cafe is how convenient they are. Not only is there typically no shortage of tables available (they have several outside in addition to their wealth of seating inside), but there's usually plenty of nearby parking available as well. What's more, they have outlets sprinkled around the walls and even live music on weekends! Despite how I'm genuinely a fan, Chit Chat Cafe is a little out of the way from me to become part of my regular rotation of go-to coffee or sandwich spots. However, if/when I'm already coming out this way again, I absolutely wouldn't hesitate to return, especially if I've got a hankering for a Cubano (which is way more often the case than not).

I wished it had been toasted more instead of just warmed up. It was pretty chewy and the tomato bagel I chose didn't really taste any different from a plain one. Ordering was through a kiosk and the food came out quickly, which was nice. The location is also super convenient since it's next to Target, with a big parking lot and lots of other food/drink options nearby. Overall a good spot to stop by for a quick bite, but I would recommend asking them to toast it a little longer.

My peeps & I stopped by for a quick bite & left sorely disappointed. The bagels aren't cut in half & have a comical amount of cream cheese so a little gushes out with every bite. It was easier to eat the bagel open-faced. They're thin & not properly toasted which made for the worst plasticky texture. And sadly, I could count the number of garlic specks on each side of my garlic bagel. Unacceptable. I tried a bite of egg, cheese, & bacon on a sesame bagel. It was too eggy & too smoky. One of the most disgusting breakfast sandwiches I've ever tasted. The pleasant staff are the only thing saving House of Bagels from a one-star review.
