Hubby and I went to Soulshine in Berry Farms last night for something different. We had been given a gift card from some neighbors awhile back, and thought a really good pizza might be interesting. We arrived around 7 PM, and they were not crowded at all, and the hostess seated us right in the middle of the dining room. I am amazed at how often hostesses do that to us, and I have to ask to be moved. Is there some sort of middle of the room conspiracy? My throat was bothering me last night, so I didn't ask to move, and that whatever. We looked over the pizza menu, and it seemed like every pre-determined pizza they listed there was something about it we didn't like. Weird sauces, a topping we don't prefer, etc. - so I thought OK, we'll make our own. We decided that hubby would order a sandwich, because the thought of a hot club sandwich sounded really good to him, and we'd take home leftover pizza for lunches. Fine. My pizza was completely unremarkable, like it could have been the Hunt Bros. pizza they sell in convenience stores. Not that there's anything wrong with that, we're just at a pizza place and expected better. The white pizza crust, bland. The marinara, bland and not quite enough of it. Ham, pineapple, mushrooms, and mozarella... sounds like a good Hawaiian pizza, right? Blah. Nothing was specifically wrong, just nothing was good, either. Hubby's sandwich - blah. It was warm, couldn't really say hot, and on a thick, crunch French bread that hurt your mouth if you tried to eat it as a sandwich. He opted for open face and was fine, but again, wasn't even up to Quizno's standards... and we're at a sit down restaurant. Are we big pizza fans? No. But what will we do next time? We will order Domino's, Roma, Marco's or Jet's... and all will be superior to this experience. No thanks. read more

Always looking for a new place to try and I was especially anticipating the visit after seeing on a large banner they serve brunch on Sunday. Much to my disappointment we received a regular lunch menu (not brunch food) containing pizza, salad, sandwiches and calzones Although after ordering from a friendly informative server we promptly received our food. A pretty good medium calzone (very decent size) that was easily shared between myself and my husband and a chopped salad for me. The salad was tasty but I was a bit disappointed that I paid the extra $3 for what I considered a tiny portion of added salami. While finishing our meal we heard the table behind us get recommended to order breakfast enchiladas, Parmesan grits and chicken and waffles as they poured over the brunch menu. Strange how they received a brunch menu and we did not. Seemed a little pricey for what we got. Service was good. Place was clean. Food was ok. Be sure to ask for a brunch menu because you may not receive one. read more

So I'be been on the fence about leaving a review, because i do like the concept and effort, I do not like more then i like.... This place has so much potential to be the best pizza place in Franklin. But they have teenagers for wait staff who do not give one damn about anything or anyone because they know they're going to get paid regardless of their service or performance because the owners need bodies to "do the job". I don't feel any heart at soul shine. I don't feel the love at all. It feels like there is some sort of investor who bought the business and is taking shortcuts and making cheap cuts to make his bottom line a small as he can and his profit as big as he can. At all. The marinara sauce on the pizza has no flavor. It tastes like tomato puree from a can at Kroger. The last time I went in I had to send the "personal" size pizza back because it was soggy, over-stretched and undercooked. It ended up to be a cheesy pile of toppings in the center of the pizza that I couldn't eat.... So sad... no one is ever hangin at the bar... and now I know why...this place has so much potential, but sadly needs a lot of work.... read more

Traveling through I stopped at Soulshine Pizza Factory (Pizza-Salads-Sandwiches) in Franklin, TN. This place had great vibes, clean restaurant, nice bar setup, and what seemed to look like a killer menu selection however I was extremely disappointed. I ordered a Creat Your Own Calzone and a half order of their Cheese & Garlic Breadsticks. The calzone was mediocre with the crust being a 3/10. The calzone came with small cup of marinara that tasted like and had the texture of tomato paste, and it surprisingly was extremely bland. The marinara sauce tasted like a Great Value marinara sauce from Wal-Mart. The Cheese & Garlic Breadsticks, it's hard to mess this one up, tasted and looked liked they were leftover from the night before basically having the texture of leaving them in the fridge over night and reheating them in the microwave. Nothing was very hot like you would think of coming out of an oven. Pretty disappointed with the $25 I spent at this restaurant. I have to say that I have had better tasting calzones and breadsticks from a gas station. read more

One star for cleanliness and one star for service not being rude. Service was stretched thin - even though the restaurant was 95% empty. More on that later..... My daughter and I went there to watch a televised basketball game. She ordered the "French dip" and I ordered the chicken wings. My teenaged daughter's sandwich was dreadful. The meat was looked like the meat texture was between jerkey and dehydrated. The bun didn't have mold - thankfully. Note: I noticed this when she was several bites into her sandwich. Why didn't we return it? The staff and we wanted to get out of there. Our confidence that the kitchen could turn out any better was very low. My chicken wings had rubbery skin and they were flavorful thanks to the sauce. Saving Grace. Well, the staff was working hard and hustling. One bartender was working the bar and most of the floor. Unacceptable. Therefore we could hardly get service (again WE WERE AT THE BAR). I don't sing the bartender/waiter/front-of-house person. He was stretched thin. We will not return. GLUTEN-FREE BEWARE: we came here to get some of the gluten free pizza. I have an allergy, but thankfully am not celiac. I ordered a pizza, specified gluten free crust, and I know the waitress heard because she asked me to specify if it was allergy or preference. They brought my pizza, and me being starving dove right in. It wasn't until halfway through my personal sized pizza that I looked at the texture of the crust. I immediately realized it looked way more dough-like than normal. They had mistakenly brought me the wrong pizza. If you have an allergy, I would avoid this place. It's a pretty big deal to mistakenly do that when you are depending on the restaurant to uphold the gluten free claim. If it's just a gluten-free preference, you're fine as long as you understand you might come in touch with it. They did comp my pizza, but unfortunately that doesn't rebuild my trust in coming back. I want to like this place as the employees seem nice and try to be accommodating. The overall vibe is nice as well. Open air set up and nice decor However, the actual service and wait time here for food is below average. Took 5 mins to get a Sprite for my son, and my drink from the bar took a solid 10 minutes, and nobody was sitting at the bar. The food here is also very blah. Nothing I have had is really worth reviewing. The wings are OK, pizza breadsticks are tasty, and the pizza I have had has just been blah. I'll Give this place one more shot eventually. read more

I had a terrible day at work, and I decided I was going to pick up takeout on the way home so I didn't have to cook. BEST decision ever. The pizzas were amazing, food was hot and stayed hot until I got home(30 min), and the cherry on top. . There were two cookies in the bag. I am so thankful for this meal! read more

I ordered takeout online. The app said the food would be ready in about 50 minutes. That seemed kind of long, but ok. In reality it wasn't ready for over an hour. If you're going to order takeout I'd suggest you order an hour and a half before you plan to pick up. I was also disturbed by employees with their masks pulled below their chins. I have never posted a Yelp review until now. We are usually easy to please and enjoy food in most if not all restaurants. The restaurant is new in our neighborhood and seemed like a fun place, so we wanted to give it a try. We visited last night and were very disappointed. Initially, we had to wait because the rice for the Red Beans & Rice dish ran out. This was NOT a problem because we were there to relax and wanting to enjoy the food. We were disappointed however. The signature dishes were very bland. The meatballs were bland and had some chewy pieces in them that made frozen meatballs in grocery stores seem gourmet. The Red Beans & Rice dish was even worse. Not trying to dramatize but it was tasteless! So we ordered a couple of dirty martinis and it tasted like olive juice! Still we were chillin' :-) The restaurant is relatively new...no problem. We smiled and kindly asked our waitress if the manager/chef would like our feedback. She expressed little interest and came back a short while and informed us that the chef would "take it in consideration". This seemed odd because we had not mentioned any of our concerns to the waitress. We then looked up Yelp to see if other diners had voiced similar concerns. We then decided to voice ours. In summary, we like the location and layout. The music was great that night (didn't know why they put the musicians in a little corner) and the sound system was nice. We did not try the pizzas however. We hope that they get better in a couple of months and plan to give it one more try. We will write an update then. read more

We ordered a pizza to go when staying nearby at an Airbnb. It was pretty good- I think it would've been better had we stayed there to eat. Everyone we encountered while getting our pizza was very friendly & gave us a free cookie to go with our pizza. I would say the pizza was your typical pizza, but it wasn't anything I hadn't had anywhere else. My husband & I have eaten Soulshine 3 times since it opened within the past month or so. We ordered take out twice and dined in the second time. We ordered The Mississipian pizza the first time, which was really good aside from the fact that the BBQ sauce was a little bit hot for my taste. The second time I had the Kitchen Sink pizza and my husband had the Honey Sriracha wings. My pizza was pretty good and my husband loved his wings. The third time I ordered takeout for my husband and ordered the Honey Sriracha hot wings, which he enjoyed just as the time before. Overall.... our food has been good every time, which is why we have given it a chance three times and it's been open for exactly three weeks. Two things that bothered me that made this review a 3 star instead of a 5 are how long it took to get our food every single time. I waited like 45 minutes for takeout both times and we dined for almost 2 hours when we were there in person and I wouldn't say the restaurant was extremely busy. Don't get me wrong, there were people there. I know I know.... they've only been open for three weeks and they're adjusting to their new work flow with all new employees.... believe me.... I've given them a chance.... three times.... hoping that it would get better and thusfar it seems like it's going to take them a little bit of time to get their timing right. I'm willing to give them another chance, because it's super convenient to where we live, but I just hope they can speed up the process in due time. My other gripe is that it seemed like several people had family members of staff in the restaurant. I get that it's new so family wants to try it, but it seemed beyond that. I noticed 3 different tables that had servers that were working sitting occasionally at the tables with guests/family. I really want to like this place. It's convenient and different and I like the vibe and the food, but I don't want to wait at the bar anymore for a pizza for almost an hour. read more

EXCELLENT PIZZA! The crust was thin and chewy just the perfect portion of sauce to cheese to sausage and onion ratio! The service initially was a little slow but our pizza came out quickly. We sat outside and the weather was perfect! This is our new favorite place for pizza. Will be interesting to try some of their other offerings. read more

Been looking at this menu for over 2 weeks, so my roommate and I went out to try it! It's Tuesday night and there is no one inside. The pizza was over priced, charged .75 each for a side of ranch and marinara and the server didn't even tell me that until I saw it on my bill. We saw her 4 times, that was it. She got our order, dropped the food off, came to bring us to go boxes and to get our tickets. She never once came by asking how the food tasted, didn't refill our drinks, meanwhile the other server grabbed a refill for us Bc my roommate had to ask him. And guess what, SHE WAS SITTING RIGHT THERE AT A TABLE PLAYING ON HER PHONE! Obviously not interested in working and we were her only table. Will not be returning ... 23.05 for terrible service and a sloppy pizza that I could get a better tasting pizza at hungry howies for 13.15... This is how you lose business when you let your servers sleep on the job. read more

We ordered a large Kitchen Sink along with two other items last night. When we arrived instead of a kitchen sink we received The Mississippian. The two are not alike in any way. Once they realized the mistake they offered to correct it by making the correct pizza. Meanwhile our other two items are getting cold while we wait. We were pretty amazed though at how quickly they got the correct pizza out only to discover the reason when we got home. It wasn't done. The bottom of the pizza was okay but it was doughy and not cooked through. We never complained so they didn't rush it because we were hovering with huge scowls on our faces but they rushed it too much nevertheless. I would not recommend this place to anyone. This was our first visit and we had high hopes, but alas Soulshine disappointed. read more
