I got a CPAP machine many years ago through Kaiser, but I don't think this has anything to do with that. Trying to get a prescription for a replacement CPAP machine is requiring multiple calls talking to underqualified but overly officious officious telephone operators who have no idea what's required. Calls to my doctor. And then more calls to the operators at Sound Oxygen. My doctor says he needs paper work from Sound Oxygen. The operator at Sound oxygen says they don't have to send it to my doctor, but she would send an email message to someone in customer service who would deal with it. She didn't bother to ask for my doctor' contact information. It's impossible to call anyone who is actually qualified to help , only the company's clueless phone operators. read more

After being with Lincare in Denver, this is like a breath of fresh air. Sound Oxygen knows how to care for their customers with CPAP orders, often sending me the order to accept via Email. They fight for their orders and their customers, and since I used to live in Vancouver, WA, let's just say this was a 'blessing in disguise'. By mistake, AeroCare took care of one of my orders through Adapthealth and Sound Oxygen swooped in to intercept the order and make it theirs to manage. They are positively exceptional. They know how to conduct themselves professionally on the phone, ask the pertinent questions, show a solid understanding of any details, know how to write up an order for Medicare, how to manage the process, etc. You cannot believe how bad Lincare was for me in Colorado...but I'm here to tell you, I've been through the ringer with such a completely uneducated, terrible company who do not take responsibility or accountability for anything, that Sound Oxygen is a "10" with award winning manners, professionalism, medically accommodating roles of handling their valued clients with white gloves, and a top level flair. Here I am, back in the Midwest, living in Wisconsin and Sound Oxygen, located in the northwest corner of Washington state, still insists on handling and managing my account. That's huge!! Extremely unhappy with both their service and their parts. I chose this company because of a local shop in Poulsbo Washington. I had a problem with the stopped bye to just ask a few questions and the lady would not talk to me unless I made an appointment first. He recently I was billed one of three payments because per adapt, they do not bill quarterly one payment because insurance company would not accept it that way payment is for supplies. I have not ordered yet. I also am not happy with the over inflation of their pricing and I bought my own oxygen machine for a month and a half of my co-pay machine. Do you want to waste hundreds of hours on the phone with lots and lots of sincere people who have no idea how to answer any questions. Also if you change insurance companies they'll charge the new insurance company full price for a partially paid off CPAP machine. They'll call you many times a week to sell you more products... but can't tell you how much those products cost. And they won't stop calling you. But if you need them to help you with something? Welcome to an ocean of confusion and incompetence. I really really regret using these guys. I made an appointment per my doctor to the Lynnwood office. When I went to the appointment the women was very confrontational because someone didn't let her know why I was there. She asked why I was there and I told her my doctor wants me to look at different masks and she said I wasn't cleared for a mask yet. She pulled the monitor towards me to see there was nothing there. I asked if I could at least see se masks. She dropped to on the table and looked annoyed but said she could at least look at the settings. I said I'm good, I'll go somewhere else and she said Have a nice day. I canceled my account and am doing business close by them and the service, prices and professionalism are top notch and way better. I never do reviews but that place ate at me for weeks. My husband's CPAP mask has not been working for him. Last night it got to the point where he stayed up all night because he couldn't handle the constant leaking of his mask and subsequent air ramping up. I tried to call the company's local office (the Lynnwood location that I'm writing a review for) and was automatically connected to the 800 customer service line. After 2 hours of waiting on hold and being told "your wait will be less than 30 seconds!" I finally did the call-back option. Only to receive no call back. No problem, I should just be able to drop by and ask if they can give my husband a different kind of mask, right? He knows which one he likes, it will only take a moment, right? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! My husband was told by the person at the front desk that he would have to call and make an appointment for her to help him. He explained that we tried for hours to do so before giving up and was told that she had an appointment right then and another one right after. Here's the thing - I also use a CPAP and have gone to a mask fitting at this office. It took less than 5 minutes. You mean that the person couldn't have given him 5 minutes to get a new mask? When he walked out he was given a snotty "you're welcome". We are looking forward to meeting up with the owner of Norco in Everett tomorrow where they do drop-in mask fittings and I am looking forward to cancelling both mine and my husband's accounts with this company and will go through Norco from now on. AWFUL COMPANY. Go elsewhere- no one knows what's going on, each person tells you different policies. They must be trying to put themselves out of business- no other explanation for consistent bad customer service. Had salesperson call us angry, telling us we were unnecessarily speaking to her manager. Told us to come get our device now. Never mind we waited 3 weeks to come pick it up, got appointment reminder from them, show up and no device. Couldn't or wouldn't tell us when then the machine would ship. Told us they don't know what arrives each day?? Really?? A total lie or clearly they don't know how to track shipments. Real bottom of the barrel salesperson skill here. Took time off from work to pick up device and had to bring in my elderly dad- for nothing. read more

The billing dept promises they won't bill my credit card, since I have insurance, does it anyway. Then they promise a refund and never provide it. I went to sound oxygen because that is who my doctor referred me to for a Cpap device. I'm not sure if you the reader has every struggles with sleep apnea but you'd do just about anything for a good night sleep if you have. Fast forward to now and $100's more than what I was told would be my max out of pocket, I wish I had done my own research!!! They have very deceptive billing practices. I've been sent so many invoices with what appears to be the same items just give slightly different descriptions. There are very little consumable items I needed to use my Cpap and after paying for that item ONCE it's implied you own it? Well not according to ADAPT health, they some how continued to create new item numbers for billing. They engage us in price gouging so be aware! read more

My sleep specialist referred me to Sound Oxygen Service. They initially called me and left a message. When I returned their call, they never called me back. Eventually I got through to a human being, but she told me I had to work with the person assigned to me. But the person assigned to me never picked up the phone, in spite of my repeated calls, which all got sent to voicemail. She never returned my calls. Ask your sleep specialist to assign anyone *other than* Sound Oxygen Service to supply your CPAP equipment needs. read more

Sound Oxygen - AdaptHEalth - Has got the worst customer service. When I called and said I had lost my machine and asked to get it replaced. They said it hadn't been 5 years so they couldn't replace it. They must have repeated this 5 times. I then called my health insurance and they said they would pay for a replacement since it was lost. I called Sound Oxygen AdaptHealth back and let them know my Health insurance was willing to pay for it and they said it didn't matter that they would not replace it, even if it is a health issue because they have a shortage and I hadn't had my machine for over 5 years. I again said it was a health issue and they said everyone has a health issue that is why they have a machine. And these people are in health services? Really? They suggested I go to another company to get my machine. I will not be using this company for my supplies or machine and would never recommend them. I use a medium frame with small pillows, but for no reason in particular, Sound Oxygen switched my prescription to a small frame without my knowledge. I was not expecting to have to inspect my supplies upon arrival, so now I'm apparently stuck with the frames that don't fit because it's been more than 30 days. Sound Oxygen use to be great when they were local but since they were bought out by the big boys they now are horrible. They outsourced their billing to a out of country company that you can not understand and they do not understand how insurance companies are suppose to be billed here in the states. I use to be in the insurance industry and tried to educate but nope it wasn't going to happen. Calling my Doctor and switching companies. Tired of going through this month after month. I almost forgot that they tried to pass of a used cpap machine as new after billing my insurance for a new unit. How did I find out? Sound Oxygen is now AdaptHealth, but it is not any better! I went in on a Friday to pick up my new CPAP machine. I was told I could use my existing mask, which wasn't very old. However, when I got home, the mask would not connect to the new tubing, which is slightly different. When I called, the woman set up an appointment to come in on Tuesday. I walked in, and it took her less than five seconds to remove a portion of the connection from the old tubing, which allows the mask to work with the new tubing. My complaint is (1) she has had this problem before, so she shoud have checked that all out when I initially picked up the machine. (2) She mentioned that she had once spent an hour unsuccessfully on the phone tellilng someone how to remove the critical piece. Come on! AdaptHealth could provide a standardized email with pictures showing how to remove the piece. It's much less complicated than a Covid test! But I had to take two hours out of my life and spend gas money driving for over an hour because she did not think ahead. That is not acceptable! read more

They used to be good. It appears that they have recently changed all billing to adapt health. I've had a horrible time getting someone to talk to when calling customer service and billing (pre Covid) and getting appropriate parties to call back. When I do talk to people, it is never the proper person, so I get transferred 2-4 times before talking with the proper person at billing who can handle my questions. I get late notices that are dated after they have cashed my checks and the checks have cleared my account. I finally had enough hassle and transferred my business elsewhere. On the other hand, they are super on top of calling you when your insurance approves more supply orders....but the sales agents can't do anything to help you with billing or customer service issues. read more

We have been losing sleep over this company's disingenuous billing practices. We were told how much the out-of-pocket cost would be, but when the bill arrived it was twice that amount! We have a signed form that shows our cost so refuse to pay the additional amount; it has been a multi-month battle. And our offer to return the machine was not accepted. Can you imagine buying something on Amazon, then the bill being twice what was promised? At this point, there is zero interest in continuing to use the machine. I feel sorry for people who are very ill or do not speak English well if they have to deal with this company. read more

I received a wheel chair from this company (billed through Pacific Pulmonary) when leaving Mission Rehab in Bellevue WA. On pain killers and concerned about getting assistance at home- I gave them my charge card for the $34 that I was told was my responsibility. I have very good insurance. I was NOT told that this was an ongoing monthly charge and that IT WOULD AUTOMATICALLY BE DEDUCTED FROM MY CHARGE CARD. Otherwise I would have simply written a check for the full amount. I NEVER agree to automatic deductions for this very reason. I was told that I could return the wheelchair within a 12 month timeframe and my insurance would no longer be billed. The following month I received notice that another $34 dollars was automatically billed to my charge card. I contacted billing, and sent them a check for the amount that was my responsibility for the entire term. I wrote full and final payment on the check, it was cashed. Nine months later the automatic deductions started again. I have spoken with two supervisors on three occasions. Each time they agree I have paid in full and should not be getting charged. The next month the same amount is charged to my card. This company is not ethical. Ask for a different provider when you need these services. read more

DON'T USE THEM. I was referred to Sound Oxygen by the staff at Polyclinic. The sales staff is pushy and is not truthful. They always tell you that your equipment replacement is covered by your insurance and they you get a bill. I've returned unopened product and received no credit. My first visit to Sound Oxygen in Lynnwood went well and I was fitted with a different mask for my C-pap. The respiratory tech said to come back if I had any problems. I was having great difficulty with the new mask so I made another appointment. This time, the same respiratory therapist was in a bad mood and very negative. I won't go into all the details of the back and forth conversation except to say I believe it is quite normal that getting used to a C-pap involves trying quite a few different masks. Blaming the mask difficulties on the patient is counter productive. It requires positive coaching and goal setting. Training needs to be better for the respiratory techs in positive psychology strategies. Reprimands and threats of negative consequences are not useful ways of motivating people. read more

Seems to be a change in personnel. No longer using this location. Jan/2017 Best service ever after 8 years of cpap use. Micah willing to work with you until the mask/machine are right. After being pressured into using CPAP by my (ex)sleep doctor and the SOS sales rep I gave it a try for about a month before I had lost so much sleep that I was missing classes and fallen into a deep depression. Once I had stopped using it my sleep returned to normal and my depression lifted. I've been trying to return their device now for a month and all they do is refer me to my now ex sleep doctor who have had no desire to talk to ever again. Lousy service and a product that doesn't work. I wish I could sue them. read more

I would like to commend Micah Nehring and his staff at the Edmonds Branch of SOS. Before finding SOS, I was a client of a national Cpap provider. They were a disaster to work with. I had just about given up on my cpap, because I was given little advice on how to adapt to my mask and machine. Then my doctor recommended SOS. MIcah spent over an hour with me, teaching me how to clean my mask, how to fit it comfortably, and how to eliminate leakages which kept me up all night. That knowledge changed my whole experience with a Cpap. Now I sleep comfortably and soundly, and Micah is only a phone call away when I need advice. I gave S.O.S. a try for over a year. They sent me a extremely cheap hose, fell apart trying to remove and clean it. And was not what I ordered or was told that I would receive. When I made a special trip in to show them I was told that I could purchase another cash and that my insurance wouldn't authorize another for several months! How was I to use my CPAP machine without the correct hose they already billed and were paid for? They ended up giving me a used hose replacement, stating that it was the best they could do. They also fit me for a mask and when I received it was too big for my nose. This was the second time they sent me too big of mask. Once again, I had to make an appointment and a special trip in to show them. The first time I received no apologies after I argued about the size and showed them, eventually to find out they indeed sent a mask two sizes too big. The second time I was told the usual "my insurance wont cover another for several months". Next, I got two filters (replacement is once a month) to get me through for six months, blamed on my crappy insurance again and told that I had to pay cash! My head gear wore out and broke, blamed on my crappy insurance again. Enough! You get the point! I called my insurance to see what was going on. After a long chat I was told that I indeed should be able to get any of the supplies that I require and all they would need to do is put in a request. I won't go into how much I struggled physically with cheap, slighted, and wrong equipment but this experience was the worst. I went back to my other supplier who has always provided me with excellent service with correct and ample product and without any hassles or accusations of poor insurance.
