The head unit went out on my wife's Prius and one of my coworkers recommended Kenny and Soundelux. Kenny and his team were great to work with, and we're really happy with the result! We put in a new Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatible head unit, and added a back-up camera as well. Huge upgrade to the car as a result. MY ADVICE IS WATCH OUT!!! I bought a Back-Up Camera for my car, the top of the line VTL 400SR of Toyo. I researched online a place to install it and the Sound Delux Car Audio came up on google. The place looks reasonable, some trophies on a shelf, clean...etc. Very good bait for uninformed customers... WELL CUTTING TO THE CHASE! They took FOUR hours to install my back-up camera and DIDN'T make it work properly. The technician responsible, after he talked to the owner, informed me that the problem was with the hardware (bought online) and advised me to call the manufacture for replacement. I sent the Back-Up Camera to the manufacture; they examined it and informed me that the problem was a result of improper installment. But as a courtesy they would send me a new one anyway (Thanks Vision Tech America). I got the new camera and went back to Sound Delux Car Audio (2490 Main Street, Chula Vista, 619-575.7558), informed the owner about the situation and what the Boyo technical support concluded about this case. The owner sarcastically looked at me and said that he wasn`t going to reinstall it because I didn`t buy the camera through his store. He told me to go somewhere else and that it wasn't his problem. Well, I went to another place, in one hour the service was done, paid 1/3 of the price Sound Delux charged me and THE BEST of all it WORKS very well.... :) My advice again is WATCH OUT!!! Go somewhere else, that you will get RESPECT and a better service. read more

Kenny and Carlos You guys have done it again. I bought a 2011 ford f150 platinum i started off with carlos doing his thang which his tint jobs are the best and with a life time warranty you can't beat that with a stick. Kenny recommended the alpine 9 inch. This deck is amazing, I have used it in Los Angeles traffic all this last week and it works flawlessly it even gives you suggested routs that are quicker and it is correct with out the wild goose chase like others.the system in the truck will be my next project full active using audisons bit poroducts. I also purchased a new 23 foot travel trailer which kenny hooked up the system in a big way. Couple batteries using so m e of my old equipment sony 4 channel 75w amp with new hertz high energy coaxls and a pair or Memphis audio marine speakers on the outside. But I am leaving the sub for last because we went BIG with a tree ssp 10" and a bandpass enclosure with a treo1000 watt amp. This thing pounds. Once again kenny and carlos you guys killed it. Went to get my 2010 Nissan Altima tinted with no wait or hassles. Carlos Madrigal was very professional in explaining his experience and methods in tinting windows. I was there for about 2-3 hours in their comfortable waiting room that had cable tv when I got all my windows tinted. He used some pretty damn good tint, and a week later I have no issues/peeling/bubbles! For the decent price, I got professional results. I originally found out about Soundelux because I got my windows tinted by Tint Specialist and they work out of the same garage. While I was getting my windows tinted I talked to Kenny at Soundelux about getting a system installed in my truck. He showed me some of the cars he currently had in the shop he was working on and his work was very impressive. He takes special care to route the wires properly and is very meticulous on how he does his installs. His work looks like something that came from the factory. I had him install 4 Alpine Type X speakers in the factory locations. He also installed a 12" JL Audio sub and a JL audio amp which he fit behind my back seat. I also had him do a sound dampening material on all four doors, the floor, and the back wall of my truck. The road noise has been reduced dramatically! My truck looks like it's factory but sounds like it's ready for a competition! He blew my expectations out of the water! I will be going back to have him install a front and side view camera system too. SOUNDELUX GOES ABOVE AND BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY! I was very leery on choosing a shop to do my tint because the last car I had done at another nearby stereo place in IB, after 3 years the tint was so faded you couldn't even tell it had tint. At the time, the price was right, but they ruined my rear defroster and obviously, it was very poor quality tint (Viper brand). My 2 siblings got their cars tinted there as well and it's the same problem: tint has completely faded. I recently bought a Mercedes C320 and I wanted it done right this time. After searching around the internet for a well recommended place to have a window tint job done, I settled with this shop. I called around to a few shops and asked a number of questions. When I called SounDelux, I spoke with Carlos who was very patient and answered all my questions. his quote was also the lowest of my top 5 picks. In addition to answering my questions, Carlos explained to me that on my particular vehicle, he recommended having felt put on the rubber strips along the edge of the windows (the ones on top of the door panels). Apparently, Mercedes is one of a handful of cars that don't have felt installed at the factory, and the lack of felt scratches the tint. Only one other shop bothered mentioning this to me, but was considerably more expensive than this place. Carlos offered to install the felt as part of the job, and I only had to pay for the material. He finished the job an hour ahead of schedule and it looks fantastic. He told me as long as I keep my receipt, the job is guaranteed. He did not just hand me the keys and say "have a nice day." He showed me all the work, explained how to take care of the tint and recommended quality cleaning products. Now for why they go above and beyond, for which I'd give them a 6th star if I could: 1) Unbeknownst to me, the car had been tinted before. They had to clean off the old adhesive, and they did not charge me extra; 2) They fixed a broken courtesy light on my door at no extra charge; 3) They fixed the passenger seat adjustment switch (it's on the door panel on my car) at no extra charge; and 4) This one tops the cake: When I was ready to leave the shop, my radio would not turn on. Carlos and Kenny jumped on it with electrical readers and started tearing stuff apart. After about 5 minutes, they found the problem: The other shop that installed my head unit (the same one that tinted my last car) used some T-taps and cheap wiring when they installed the head unit on this car. Apparently there was a false connection on the T-taps. they removed the T-taps and fixed it - again, NO EXTRA CHARGE! NOW THAT'S GOING BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY!!! I will be going to this place for tint and stereo needs and recommending them to all my friends and family. They seem to be a small shop but it's obvious they take pride in their work and care about their customers. I have no reservations giving them my recommendation. The car is made of fiberglass which has problems with grounding and wiring electrical components.I was referred to Soundelux by a friend and I am so happy I went there. The Owner Kenny was very friendly and told me he had worked on fiberglass cars before and he knew what to do. I also had some issues with space, since I needed room in the back hutch area for the T-tops. He ordered some 6x9 boxes for me and put some great speakers inside.Then he arranged them so they would fit nicely with the t-tops and actually made them moveable throughout the back hutch area. He's knowledgeable and patient, and he always has a moment to answer questions. He installed/tuned my Alpine CDA-117 (Audi) and Alpine Imprint H660 (Saab). He custom-made tweeter mounts for my Saab and re-wired/cleaned-up the mess I had in my trunk. He also sold me boxes of Stinger RoadKill at BELOW the average online price. He took care of me. He doesn't speak poorly about his competitors -- Soundiego & La Jolla Audio & Car Audio Heaven. He's just a nice guy who knows his stuff! Also, Carlos tinted my windows back in 2010. I went dark -- very dark. It's been more than two years and the tint is still perfect. No bubbling. No fading.
