The service is great, staff is very helpful, and the menu is easy to follow and understand. The food has been incredible! Truly the best I've ever had. I got the pho brisket twice which is absolutely delicious. My family has also ordered the garlic shrimp and noodles, pho with filet mignon, pho with shrimp, and the crispy chicken and noodles. Some of the best pho in the area are Soup Shop and Pho Lab. Soup Shop's broth is heaven and wins in that department even though Pho Lab wins in the other areas...I have to be honest though the broth is why I crave pho so I have been here many many times and it wins because of that reason! The brisket is amazing and people in my party have loved the oxtail and filet mignon too. Avoid the siracha and use their homemade sate (chili paste) instead... You just have to ask for it! I came in with my partner on a rainy Saturday night at around 10-10:30pm. We were pretty hungry since we had been running around all day. We were told to sit anywhere since there were open tables so no wait, which was great. We ordered 2 bowls of pho, ribeye and combination. The pho is pretty fairly priced given the "free noodle refills" but given how bad the service was, I don't see how that's actually an option. Service was very disappointing. I honestly don't blame the staff. I blame management for not training the staff well. We ordered a side of onions with our pho in the initial order, once again after we waited a couple minutes after the food arrived, and again (giving 10 minutes between each time we asked). It finally arrived but we were basically done with our pho. We also ordered additional bean sprouts but that never came. You can imagine why we wouldn't bother asking for additional noodles... :/ Servers did not come to check on us once. We had to flag them down each time and every time we asked for something, we never got it. There was no system to the service. Everyone seemed to be doing a different job and they kept switching on taking rounds around the restaurant so nobody knew what was going on. The only thing that came fast was the pho (which is good I guess) and the check. The food was pretty good but I honestly would not come again unless it was very late and I was really desperate for pho. My family and I are always hunting for the best pho place. Came across this new to us restaurant and the good Yelp reviews. We want to give it a try. The restaurant is in the Los Olivos center. Plenty of outdoor tables as well as a lot of indoor tables. We ordered the pho combination, pho ribeye and the egg rolls. The egg rolls came without any lettuce to wrap them in. Just 2 naked egg rolls. The pho soup was flavorful and clean. Unless a lot of place we had, the soup is not oily. The meat quality was decent. The rice noodles that came with the soup were a bit overcooked and mushy. You can add noodles after your bowl is half finished. So we added some more noodles. The added noodles were cooked perfectly. The minor compliant that we have is the basil and the bean sprouts portion were small. We asked for more basils for the two pho bowls we ordered. read more

This restaurant is so DECEIVING on menu- it put a full page photo showing the dish is called "pho combination" and shows a big rib bone but the actual dish doesn't contain it. I asked the waitress, without any apologies, she said did you look at the small black words below the title saying "beef bone available as add-on"?! Are you kidding me, if the picture is not the dish, how could you print the name with big white font and add a small black prints below to clarifying it is not what it supposed to look like? You should print the name of the picture to be " pho combo + additional add-on rib bone" instead of "pho combo" for this picture because it's SO MISLEADING! Heard about this restaurant from friends. Went here for lunch with my parents and were quickly seated inside. We were fortunate to have a table so quick as it was the lunch rush. The interior is neat and clean. There is also an area that you can sit by the bar. There are many choices on the menu!! Originally we were going to order the Shrimp rice dish, Ox tail pho and Ribeye pho. But was informed that one of the stoves is broken and can only order pho for that day, or there will be a long wait. We changed our orders to all pho orders and really enjoyed the food. Stopped into Soup Shop in Irvine, right across from where I used to stay in Los Olivos. The place is spotless, modern, and nothing like what you would run into at some Santa Ana spots. Before Soup Shop this location had Fan 55, I tried it once and I wasn't surprised it didn't last. Soup Shop is a major upgrade. The menu is gorgeous. Simple, self explanatory, with photos that show you exactly what you are ordering. Very user friendly and makes it easy to decide. I couldn't make up my mind, so we went for a little bit of everything, corn bowl, popcorn chicken, pho fillet for me, chicken pho for my wife, and steak pho for my daughter. Quick breakdown: * Pho fillet: Broth and meat were both extremely delicious. * Chicken pho: My wife loved it, very clean flavor, and they were generous with the chicken, almost too much. We couldn't finish it, and even though reheating pho at home can turn noodles to mush, the waitress insisted we take it home. * Steak pho: My daughter loved it, especially since she was fighting a light cold, it really hit the spot. * Popcorn chicken: Crispy, flavorful, and addicting. * Corn bowl: Different but tasty, my daughter really enjoyed it. * Iced tea: Served with ice cubes instead of crushed ice. Normally that is a small detail I judge by, but since it is not a Thai spot I did not hold it against them. Service was excellent. Our waitress was attentive, accommodating, and genuinely helpful. She made the experience better all around. Prices are a little on the steep side, but you get what you pay for, quality food, great service, and a clean environment. A couple of days ago, after a fun night of bowling, my husband and I were craving something warm and comforting pho or ramen, something soupy and cozy. Since many spots were already closed, we found this place on Yelp called Soup Shop Pho, and we're so glad we did! When we arrived, the restaurant looked new and modern, and as we walked in, I noticed a good number of people dining inside a great sign! The space had a high-end yet cozy vibe, and it smelled amazing. We were greeted and seated right away, which I appreciated. The menu immediately caught my attention it's beautifully designed with photos of each dish, which makes ordering so much easier. I went with the Veggie Pho, and my husband ordered the Filet Mignon Pho. They also have a section dedicated to drinks with equally gorgeous photos. Our server recommended the Passionfruit drink, and it did not disappoint! It was refreshing, perfectly sweet, and the little seeds gave it a fun, light crunch. My only note is that I'd ask for less ice next time since there was a bit more ice than drink but otherwise, it was delicious. I can't wait to try their other drinks next time we visit. Now onto the pho the veggie pho was good and satisfying, but I do think the broth could use a bit more flavor depth. My husband's beef broth, on the other hand, was rich, savory, and full of flavor. It was absolutely perfect. The filet mignon that came with it was cooked to perfection tender, flavorful, and honestly one of the best cuts I've tasted in pho. It was easily both of our favorite dish of the night. We also asked for something spicy and were told they had a house sauce. It wasn't too spicy (and my spice tolerance is pretty low!), but it had a really nice flavor that complemented the pho well. Another big plus here is the portion size very generous for the price. Considering how upscale and elegant the interior looks, the pricing is extremely reasonable. It's definitely a great date-night spot for couples or even a cozy meal with friends. That said, I do have a couple of small critiques. First, the utensil setup each table has its own utensil holder, which I personally didn't love because it could easily lead to cross-contamination between guests. I'd prefer if they brought clean utensils directly with the meal instead. Second, about 25 minutes into eating, no one came by to check on us or refill water, which is something that could be improved. Overall though, everyone from the hostess to the servers was kind and welcoming. The food was delicious, the ambiance was lovely, and the prices were fair. Well that took a big turn. Our server was basically hanging out by the kitchen the whole time. Waiting for our food? Nope, she was either chatting or scrolling on her phone. Every time we actually needed something, the hosts had to help us instead. Even with her standing right there near the kitchen, she still forgot two of our orders. The managers assertion that we were trying to avoid paying a gratuity is completely false and even offensive. We are all regular 20%+ tippers.
