The sandwich has layers of meat and portioned appropriately. The pâté adds a rich umami flavor and the Vietnamese bơ (mayo) gives it a buttery flavor. The veggies are always healthy and seem fresh. Also their jalapeños actually have a kick unlike most places I've been to. I recommend this staple to anyone looking for a solid Vietnamese sandwich in Tacoma. I ordered the beef ribs pho and it was 10/10. The meat fell off the bones and was so flavorful and juicy. The broth itself was perfect. I usually add lots of hoisin and lime but this was perfect just the way it was. Wish I had found this place sooner, it's my new favorite spot for pho and I can't wait to try other items on the menu.

My family and I ordered bún bò Huế and pho, and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. Both dishes tasted watered down, with little to no seasoning or depth of flavor. The broth quality was not what we expected and came across as overly diluted. I even tried adding all the available condiments, but it still did not improve the taste. It was so unappetizing that I couldn't finish my meal. The prices were quite high, especially considering the small portion sizes. We chose this restaurant based on the positive reviews on Google and Yelp, where many described it as having some of the best pho. However, our experience did not reflect those claims. One difference with their Bun Bo Hue is they don't add pork blood cake in their version, which is a minor "ding" in my preference. The Pho here is also very good. Like the Bun Bo Hue, the stock they use (stock is much better than just plain broth that many other restaurants use) is rich, favorable, with just the right amount of fat. The spicy / heat level is rather mild, but there are chili oil, chili flakes and Sriracha at each table, so you can add more heat if you want. Unlike many other restaurants, they also bring out little containers of pickled sliced garlic and pickled hot peppers ... the sliced garlic is a great addition to any dish. The staff is friendly, the restaurant is very clean, well lit, and there is plenty of parking. The prices on the menu are more than reasonable when compared to comparable restaurants in the region ... less expensive than most others. The bonus for me was the cream puff that came with the meal. I have not seen that happen for at least 15 years ... it use to be a common occurance whenever you ordered Pho or Bun Bo Hue. All in all, this is now in my top three Pho restaurants.

They're attentive without hovering, which I really appreciate. Oh and they keep it very clean. One thing to keep in mind: if you want basil or cilantro with your pho you have to ask for it. They'll bring lime, jalapeños and bean sprouts but that's it. It's not an issue at all, just something to be aware of if it's your first time. All in all, 10 out of 10.
