Nice small place for lunch with very friendly and super quick service. Out of the many soup choices, I opted for good old fashioned chicken noodle with a big piece of jalapeño bread and a Greek salad. Everything was great. I especially liked that when I brought a Gatorade and a bottle of water to the counter, she advised me that they also have free glasses of water. I'd stop in here all the time if I lived or worked near here. Their menu changes all the time which gives you a lot of variety and something new to try all the time. People: Staff is super friendly and great at giving you a heads up on the different soup flavors. As an example, they'll warn you if something is spicy before you try it so you aren't caught off guard. Food: Good quality soup; like it's homemade by someone's mom or grandmother. I love that they have variety for you to choose from and every time I visit, they have different soup flavors to try and pick from. I highly recommend getting a piece of focaccia with your soup. My favorite is the jalapeno cheddar focaccia. They also have salads and sandwiches if it's too hot for soup. I haven't tried any of the salads or sandwiches so can't speak to either. Location: It's such an unassuming place when you look outside. It's in the small shopping complex with the City Market grocery store but that means lots of parking! The place itself is tiny. It only has a couple of tables so if you're there around lunch time, be prepared to take it to go or eat in your car. There's a pretty consistent line out the door during lunch; even on weekdays. Definitely a favorite stop for me and a must-go-to when it's winter and I'm looking for a hot bowl of good soup. read more

The Mrs had the stuffed pepper soup, a gluten-free and vegan offering. It was super tasty. I had the Guinness Bratwurst Potato and Cheddar soup. VERY tasty and CHOCK full of potatoes. My only complaint was that there were only 3 or 4 small pieces of Brat in the small which seems insufficient. But the flavor! Wheat bread and Jalapeno/Cheddar bread was super delicious as well. You'll find that this is the real insider spot. Next to a grocery store in a strip mall, so convenient parking. Takeout only, and it's crowded! Soup offerings change everyday but do like the locals do: pre-order online to reserve yours before they run out (daily menu is posted in the morning). Mama's chicken soup is our family's fave. Also recommend the shrimp risotto soup if they have it. The breads are great to go with soup. You can share as bread portions are large (feeds two people). Nothing is incredibly gourmet or inventive, but all are solid, straightforward, and loaded with ingredients. Perhaps just like your grandmother used to make! This place is mostly known to locals and I wish I'd found it sooner. I'm not even a soup person because I mostly like texture and crunch! It's a little off the beaten track but it's so worth the trip. It's just a small carryout place with staff like it's your mom serving about eight different soups every day. You can sample any of them but I have yet to be disappointed after quite a few visits through the years. My absolute favorite soup has been the chicken pot pie but I doubt I'd care which one they gave me, they are all THAT GOOD. Coming to Breckenridge for the last 40 years (it was the first place to allow snowboarding back in the 80's) we were ecstatic when we found this restaurant at the turn of the century. The quality, consistency, and friendliness of the staff was over the top from the first time we visited though the other day. It's our family's number one restaurant and ironically it seems to be the top for most review sites. I don't normally write reviews, but this one is beyond well deserved. I believe I have had almost every soup, sandwich, and salad (not to mention the fresh bread and oh those cookies) and I have a hard time choosing my favorite. If I had a complaint, it would be that there are too many choices when I am there. Is that really a complaint? We just let everyone in the family pick their favorite choice and order several of the 32 oz servings. Thus, you can always get a second bowl of your 2nd favorite soup of the day. If there are any leftovers, the first one to snowboard home (or hike home in the Summer) for lunch usually devours it before having to share. When anyone I know is visiting Breckenridge, I always recommend this place. It never fails that I always get a call when they're back home thanking me for the recommendation. I even had one friend who wanted to inquire about getting a franchise for the West Coast as he never enjoyed soup so much. If you're looking for a place and you've come across this listing, look no more. Rain or shine, there might be a line, but it's worth the wait if you haven't ordered online (which is pretty slick). Well off the beaten path, but an easy stop when coming down from the mountain. You are greeted just as soon as you walk in the door, with samples to go around. Lots of soup options available and all of them are hot and taste amazing! We took out some soup during our visit and the kids were huge fans of the Chicken Noodle. I have been coming here for lunch for many many years. I remember when they originally opened and you could get a soup meal for under six dollars now it is almost 11. The food is always good and the people are always nice. What a fabulous find! We got food to go here and headed to Broken Compass Brewery. It was a great meal. We fed eight people (4 adults and 4 kids) for under $40!! Unheard of in the mountains! There was a slight wait when we arrived but we could sample the delicious soups while we waited. Our favorites were Jalapeño Asiago and Manhattan Clam Chowder. Favorite bread by far was the jalapeño cheddar. I tried the Thai noodle salad and it was fabulous - Vegan too! We actually ended up having too much soup so I would recommend a 12 oz serving for every two people. The lady who served the soup was charismatic and charming. For covid-19 reasons they take your order at the door and bring it to you. When I got there around 5pm there was a bit of a line along the sidewalk. Onto the food. I had the sausage and kale soup, a roll, and a cookie. The soup was EXCELLENT. So much better than that other version (*cough*olive garden*cough*). It have me ideas on how to make my version better.
