I always get my salads to-go, as the service is always easy, convenient and quick. The Caesar salad has a delicious and savory dressing. I personally haven't explored the menu much, but I also love the sides. The Mac n cheese and mashed potatoes are two of my favorites. Always a fan of Flower Child. Love the healthy choices and that many are gluten-free. It is a little cold today, but I do enjoy the outdoor seating that is available. I love that the menu rotates seasonally, so you can always try something different if you want to. The staff is warm and welcoming. It's super clean inside and gives the feeling of eating at a farmhouse. It was my first time trying the Rebel French dip and it was absolutely amazing. The steak was perfect, and the creamy horseradish really stood out but without overpowering the wrap. I tried both iced teas and topped them off with the rose petal lemonade. I think they always pair well together, regardless of what flavors are being featured. Best of all, not feeling sluggish after eating. I joined a friend for lunch at Flower Child in the Desert Ridge Marketplace. A very popular place for sure. The order window for take out was super busy. Once you walk in, make your order at the counter provided you're ready. A menu is posted outside as well as inside. We ordered the black bean falafel wrap and Kung pow cauliflower with chicken on the side. Pay for your meal, they give you a number and choose a seat of your liking. Our meals were delivered quickly and with a smile. Nicely presented and both were very good. The wrap was very hearty with a tinge on sweet pickles in it. The cauliflower had a nice sauce that was not overwhelming yet had a slight kick to it. We both had doggie bags for later. Nicely decorated inside with visions of the 1960s; Twiggy and peace sign on the wall. It was a bit noisy inside but we could converse. Staff came by later to bus our dishes and ask if we needed boxes. All gender bathrooms. Overall a nice experience that I would repeat. Shared parking. read more

Salad tasted fine this time but the cash register associates take forever to take an order and modify it as per dietary restrictions. With a modern AI world, this should not take that long as that can be frustrating. Not sure why is there are such large trash bins outside the restaurant. Not bad. There are tons of healthy options and dietary options for everyone. I appreciate how not-greasy everything is but all the food we ordered was incredibly salty, even for restaurant food. I had the cauliflower risotto and my friend had the mac n cheese. We had sweet potato fries to share, which were cooked up pretty inconsitently. On the plus side, they looked baked so they were definitely easy to eat since they weren't drenched in oil. The service was great and the cashier knew lots about the menu and what accommodations could be made for my friend who was vegan gluten free. The restaurant itself was fresh and happy, full of plants, lovely art and nice lighting. While this place didn't knock my socks off, it feels like a reliable place where people with different dietary needs can come together and all find something healthy to eat. read more

I love how many gluten free and dairy free options are here! They are very good with food allergies, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my Glow Bowl with tofu. It was quite tasty and free of all my allergies. I only wish I had chosen to add chicken instead of tofu as the tofu absorbed all the flavor of the bowl and the flavor ended up lightly one-noted. But it was still good so I didn't mind. I ended up feeling hungry again not too long after eating, so I wish my food filled me more than it did. But it's a great spot for a light lunch! read more

It would be logical for me to be a big Flower Child fan given my vegan diet, but I've never found a menu item that compelled me before. I'd describe it as "good" but not great. The new black bean falafel wrap may have gotten me to change my mind! It was entirely unique - a taste combo I haven't had before. It was light, full of flavor and had good texture/bite. Making falafel out of black beans makes perfect sense, and worked really well. The mint was the stand-out flavor though. This location is a busy spot, but I've never had any service issues. Parking can be a bit of a battle just because of the way the lot is laid out, but it's not an issue. The wait to order is normally less than a minute or two, and there's plenty of seating. I've given it a few tries, and compared to other locations, the portions are smaller here, the staff lacks personality and care, and upon this visit, no coloring sheets for the kids (I asked two separate employees, and 40 min later, still none). We went to the bathroom to wash our hands after lunch, and it was all wet on the floors, and the toilet seat covers were out. Ugh. The wrap was perfect but the salad was missing grapefruit. That was a bit of a bummer because my tastebuds were ready for it and I was already home. Flower Child has been a favorite of mine for years. This was my first time coming to this location, however. It. Is. BUSY!!! The LINE! I stood in it for over half an hour just to order - even though we already had seats. I love that they have a good sized patio seating section and they have heaters for the days when there's a bite in the air. They have changed their menus a few times over the years, but they still produce stellar dishes. This particular day, we ordered salmon, gluten free mac & cheese (the only option for m&c), brussels sprouts and the sweet corn quinoa number. My toddler was all over the m&c. I prefer a macaroni full of gluten myself, but hey... if the little is going to eat, I'm a happy mama. My sister and I absolutely enjoyed the rest of our dishes though. I don't know how they infuse so much flavor into those sprouts, but I could have kept eating them if I had a pot-full in front of me! When we passed by the front of the restaurant the first time there was a line out the door, so we were considering other options. What we did not know since it would be our first time here, they were in line to place their orders. So, we stopped any way to check it out. We actually made it through the ordering line pretty quickly. My wife ordered a Turkey Chop salad, I ordered the Bird is the Word wrap. We sat outside since it was nice out. Only thing with that side of the building is all the traffic coming off of and turning onto Tatum. Something to think about next time. Our order came in a reasonable amount of time. Mine was really tasty. The salad was good too. Will try some different items next time. Only one complaint, the price, the salad was $14.25 and the wrap was $12.95. A total after tax of $29.54. And there point of sale device for credit payments asks how much of a tip to give. Really? It is no different than going to a fast-food place and ordering at the cash register. But I have heard it has become more common even if you are just ordering at the register. It would be totally different if we had a server and they took our order, and actually waited on us.
