I've been here now on two occasions and both times was overwhelmingly satisfied with the wares offered. I can't speak for the coffee, as I'm not a coffee drinker. But the pastries are out of this world! So far, I've had the Fig Tart, and the Pistachio Cheesecake which was to die for. I'm hoping this cafe can make a go of it as Narragansett is pretty devoid of good bakeries in that end of the town. The bakeries near the shore tend to be tourist traps with mediocre offerings, indifferent staffing and exorbitant prices. Galleria Dolce is a welcomed breath of relief from these other shops. If you're in the area, I give it my highest recommendation.

As others have mentioned ruined you may think am I in the right place and you are. Just walk up the ramp and open the door to the smell of fresh bread. Plenty of options to choose from, I went with the Rosemary Garlic and will add photos when I get home and cut into this delicious smelling loaf at some point this weekend! Donut Cake --four stars Donuts --3.5 stars but Boston Cream was 5 stars Donut Cakes-- The RI Guys Donut Cake is a simple donut shape; whereas, Allie's offers decorated custom cakes when ordered in advance. Taste: More dense texture donut cake than Allie's. We prefer Allie's. Doughnuts: Individual donuts are similar. Frosting is thicker on RI Guys donuts if that is what you like. We like the donut cake better than the donuts. Value: A medium size RI Donut Cake is $14.99. An X-Large custom Allie's cake is $35. and I believe worth the cost. Allie's only accepts cash which annoys a few customers. Availability: RI ones can be bought at any time the store is open. Allie's must be ordered ahead. RI Guys are even available at the local Dave's Market. Both bakeries have their loyal customers. We are Camp Allie's, but think RI Guys are good.

All of my interactions with him have left a bad taste in my mouth. He is so rude, dismissive and acts like he's doing you a favor by letting him make a cake for you. It sounds like they make delicious cakes here, but I never got the chance to try any. We tried on several occasions to set up a cake tasting appointment and a meeting to go over the cake we ordered. Just giving them a deposit ended up being so difficult--they never answered the phone and half the time their emails were returned to sender. I probably had to call five or six times just to connect with him on his cell to take the deposit. He would email me windows of time to make the call and then he wouldn't even answer. Their store is closed 90% of the time it is listed as being open. We also found out that the cake we ordered is actually being canceled and we got no explaination at all. Patticakes never even contacted us themselves and we only found through other means that they canceled all their orders for the summer. If we hadn't heard through the grapevine, we could've ended up a few weeks away from our event and not had our cake! Hopefully getting my deposit back will be easier than it was trying to pay it. And hopefully another bakery in the area will be available so close to my event. I don't know whats going on with this business, but its terribly run. I'd steer clear of it and find somewhere else to get a quality cake from. Doug will be the first to tell you (because he did) that no cake I get will be better than his. But at least those other cakes will be delivered.

Stopped by Colvitto's Pizza and Bakery today on my way to meet with a friend. A lot of people…read morementioned them when we had our pizza strip nominations for March Madness, so since I was in the area I made a quick detour for a strip and a zeppole (tis the season, after all) The inside is larger than you expect, with plenty of seating if you wanted to hang out and eat your goodies. I got there around 11am but they still had a wide selection of calzones, pastries and pizza available. The ladies working the counter were very nice and quick as well. Before long I had my pizza strip and zeppole, and was on my way. The pizza strip at first was sweet. Almost too sweet for me, but as I continued, the sweetness faded into balance with the crust and became quite enjoyable. It wasn't long before I polished it off. It is a softer strip, with a good amount of sauce on top. The zeppole was wonderful. The whipped cream was soft and pillowy inside delicate pastry. All of it was light as air and it was a struggle to stop at the hallway mark! But I had to save room for the lunch meeting so I forced myself to quit... For now! If you happen to be in the Narragansett area and are craving the Italian tastes of the city, make sure you stop to check it out for yourself!
