Service was fast and quick and we had a great time. We got the wings and cornbread to share. She ordered the salmon while I ordered the catfish. Both were delicious and hot upon arrival and we got 4 different sides, green beans, yams, Mac n cheese, and collard greens (which were all FANTASTIC). Mac&cheese were amazing, yams were even better. However the fried chicken was too dry. I actually had a difficult time chewing it. The crispiness outside the chicken was fine, but it was the meat itself which was too rubbery. It mightve been just that one cut we tried or they fried it for too long or something. I've been here twice now and I do overall enjoy this restaurant but the reviews are correct. The restaurant itself is really nice I came in twice with no reservation and was seated relatively quick. Upon seating our server did take a little to come over (both times) and when they come over they take your order typically at that time (great for me as I was hungry). Only downside is once you get your drinks you probably won't see your server stopping by again until it's time for the food. We were seated next to the kitchen area I believe and there was an awful smell coming from somewhere. I started to get nauseous from it until we moved from sitting there. I'm not sure if it's something in the wall or what but it smelled awful. The food here is always superior I've never had anything I didn't like. The only downside none of the drinks get free refills. The food doesn't typically take long but oftentimes you don't get all that you ask for once it is brought and you have to remind them. We ordered cornbread but didn't get it until after we had our food. I assume it was forgotten. The menu states the included gratuity so be aware when paying. It does show you on the pad though but don't overtip by not paying attention. Our server was attentive when it came time to pay otherwise we had to stop her constantly just for simple things. The two servers that I had both times never came over just to check in. Overall, If you can get past the low grade service this is the place you should go. read more

After about 1hr+ of wait we came inside and we were told that the manager had called a table but it wasn't ready. After another 10-15 Mins we were sat. As we had time to look at the menu while waiting, we were ready to order everything when the server came to us... another 10+ mins. It was a curse and a blessing because, my cocktail got to the table way before the 3 waters and lemonade we had ordered. It was probably about 40 mins in when the soft drinks arrived to the table. That said, I was the clear winner. I had the loaded baked potato with brisket this i cludes a ton of cheese sauce, barbecue sauce, and jalapenos. First, it was huge! There is a pic of the dish on here but I think they found bigger potatoes. Brisket was tender and there was plenty of it. As a matter of fact, I called it a challenge because I was full at 3/4 done but it kept calling me soft and an amateur eater since I was forced to finish it. If you order the greens know that they have a vinegar taste, they come with lots of stems and an abundance of juice. A stem or two is fine but too much is too much. Way too much juice for my liking. The yams were yamming. My daughter said they had too much cinnamon so... I tasted her mac and cheese and it was wonderful! My catfish was fried to perfection and was served piping hot! I recently visited SFK with a girlfriend for a girls night after seeing this place come up multiple times on my TikTok FYP. Here's my take away: Seating Before entering, you have to check-in with security outside and they will see what's available. We entered and were immediately greeted and sat at a high boy table (though we were also offered the bar). The tables at the entrance are in a busy walk through area so just be aware that people may be stopping or standing over you. Cleanliness This place is spotless. They keep cleaning staff constantly cleaning floors and the areas around, so you won't see a thing out of place. I can appreciate this effort. We provided some great food and drink recommendations, but we were less than impressed with the drinks. She also forgot my Sprite I ordered so I was limited to just water all night. I loved her personality, but I have to say, she didn't check in on us as much as I would have liked. In fact, we had to constantly flag her down. Food It took almost an hour for our food. Despite this, the food was great! Per Jessica's recommendation, we did the fried wings (4) with mashed potatoes, greens, black eyed peas and mac and cheese. The chicken was fried well and seasoned. The potatoes were nice and creamy with melted butter on top. The peas were good, though a bit too salty to me. The mac and cheese were *chefs kiss*. The greens were good but had a bit too much of something in them. I couldn't put my finger on it. The highlight was the cornbread. It was swoon-worthy! Get it! Pricing Pricing was actually pretty good all things considered. My whole meal plus the extra side came to $37. Gabby was our waitress, and she was fantastic--super friendly and kept everything flowing smoothly. We sat in the back area - I don't remember there being one my first time coming but it really opens up the space. Decor and wall art was amazing and on theme. 2 bars and ample seating. For starters, we had the biscuits--fluffy, buttery, and just the right touch to kick off the meal. For my main, I got the fried whole wings with yams and mac and cheese--and every bite was SO GOOD.
