Came here on a weekday for the very first time and I made reservations just in case. Luckily it did not get too busy for a weekday during lunch. We also got very lucky to find some free street parking as well within a very short, walking distance of the front door. Do not be deceived as this place is also connected or part of the same building of a hotel. Our service was very nice and friendly and she was so accommodating and helpful and answering questions. She also was quite flexible as far as explaining the side as well as what kind of dark meat pieces you were allowed to get. So that was really helpful. The food came out quickly and freshly cooked. The fried chicken is absolutely juicy and crispy. No complaints whatsoever other than the pieces could've been bigger. however, the side I believe were already premade and sitting out somewhere in the kitchen so they weren't hot and they definitely weren't as fresh. The peach Cabo, which they are also famous for did not disappoint. So glad I ordered it however it is quite small in size. They apparently also had an extra bread pudding that somewhat either forgot or didn't pick up and you'll see that in the box here and we took that to Go. That was quite delicious delectable and and sticky as it should be. This place is definitely an institution in Atlanta and I can understand why. I'm sure it gets busy during peak times and the weekends. So glad we took the time to visit here while we were in the heart of the city.

2nd time visit. Friday morning around noon. Located in a plaza. Valet parking. We paid $5. If you have a handicap sticker you can park at the front yourself- avoiding valet. We ordered the fried green tomatoes, blacken salmon with rice and gravy and brussel sprouts, another blackened salmon with fries and brussel sprouts, fried chicken wings with mashed potatoes and gravy and mac and cheese, and fried shrimp with fries and brissel sprouts. Pros We had a party of 8 but they allowed us to split into two tables next to each other with two different servers. The hostess was very friendly and accommodating and well as the servers. However, I did have to tell a server to get our server at one point. Cons The fried green tomatoes are good but the breading is falling apart. My rice and gravy originally came with a hair in it. They replaced it no questions asked. They do not split checks with parties of 6 or more. Not good for big parties. Would I Recommend: Yes. This is a great spot to visit with your family to get some soul food. No loud music, no vulgar language, no hookah, no inappropriate uniforms, just good food and OG Atlanta vibes. Came here when they opened on a Friday. I believe our servers name is Carly, and she was the best! Very attentive and funny as hell too. We all pretty much ordered the 4 piece wing with sides: Brussels (per Carly's recommendation), Mac, and I added a side of yams. The food was really good. I noticed that my wings were significantly smaller than my mom and sisters, but we shared so it's ok. My dad loved his and my brother got the pasta which he liked also. I always love to look around at the photos to see what's new here. I love the quiet music and history.

Airport Location: It's been a minute since I last visited Paschal's at Atlanta Airport, and honestly, my previous experience wasn't my favorite. I'm happy to say they totally redeemed themselves this time! The airport was its usual busy self, but the staff handled it like pros.. friendly, attentive, and efficient. The atmosphere is just family, travelers and more. Everything I ordered was absolutely delicious.. perfectly seasoned and full of flavor. You can tell they really stepped up their game. Definitely a good comeback from my last visit. If you're passing through ATL and want a solid meal without the airport chaos affecting your experience, Pascal's is worth it.

A classic, long-standing soul food spot. Not exactly for everyday dining, but perfect for when you want something a bit special. The fried chicken and gumbo are both done really well, with the natural flavors shining through.

Walked in here on a Saturday afternoon. My ride share driver said this place was good so I decided to try it myself. The restaurant is historic. I was warmly greeted by the receptionist and advised that they did not accept cash at that time. The restaurant is huge and has a second floor. It was a little loud for me at that time; some were celebrating birthday on the upper floor. I was surprised because a robot brought one of my orders. It was cool but at the same time, the gumbo had spilled off the bowl and onto the saucer. My server Danielle was nice and also working the bar so I understood that service could be slow. The gumbo came in a small cup and was alright. It was not spicy for me. Got the 2-piece 1947 Paschal's fried chicken that came with two sides. I picked Southern mac & cheese and candied yam. Overall, the food was alright, nothing special. The overall value did not align with the price.

Every time I pass through the Atlanta airport, Paschal's is an absolute must-stop for me. The food is consistently outstanding--full of flavor, comforting, and truly satisfying every single time. On this visit, I enjoyed baked chicken, mac and cheese, and greens, all perfectly seasoned and delicious. I even placed a second order to take home--baked chicken with rice, green beans, and a piece of catfish à la carte--because it's just that good! What made the experience even more special was the exceptional service. Tasha went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect, and her warm, attentive attitude truly stood out. A fantastic experience all around--great food, great service, and a guaranteed stop every time I travel through Atlanta. Happy customer--thanks again, Tasha!

Overall, I was really happy with my experience here... I've only been to the one in the airport... But this was really good. We were able to get sat right away. No reservation was needed on the night that I went. I'm not sure if they do reservations typically... Very casual setting full bar and a few few TVs on the wall... I can't remember my server's name, but she was so nice and so sweet and so accommodating and so I felt like the service was really good. It did take a little long for her to greet us, but I think that she was just. Dealing with another table so I won't hold it against her. The only reason why this isn't getting five stars for me is because my friend ordered the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and mac & cheese and his mashed potatoes came out cold. His mac & cheese portion was significantly less than mine and his cornbread muffin was also not the correct portion... Meaning it didn't even feel the cupcake paper wrapper it was so small. It didn't even fill that out and those to me are just small low hanging fruit where the person in the kitchen should've caught that and never served it. my friend was asking why he got less mac & cheese and why his cornbread looked like that... as a person who used to work in the restaurant industry. My first thought was if they're using the same spoon or serving utensil, he should've gotten around the same amount, but it was significantly less in his bowl and the cornbread muffin that he received should've never been served. It should've been thrown out... And he should've gotten a regular size cornbread muffin. I ordered the catfish plate with mac & cheese and yams and I added a side of greens... And my greens also came out cold... So these are the reason I couldn't give it 5 stars... but the taste of the food was amazing... If you've made it this far in my review, trust me when I say the taste of everything was on point so I can't wait to go back and eat there again!

I don't enjoy leaving reviews for Black-owned businesses that are less than three stars, but unfortunately our experience was very disappointing. We visited on Sunday to celebrate my 83-year-old aunt's birthday with a group of about 12 people. We understood that we were a large party, but we expected that there might be additional support to accommodate us. Our food took well over an hour closer to an hour and a half to arrive. When it finally did, it was not hot and was not reflective of the quality and consistency that Paschal's is known for. As longtime supporters, this was especially disheartening. While I could see that our server worked very hard, the overall experience was still less than memorable. Paschal's is a staple in the community, and I've had wonderful service there in the past, which is why I know they are capable of doing better. I truly hope this feedback is received in the spirit intended to see them continue to improve and uphold the standard they are known for.

Stopped by Paschal's in Atlanta and kept it simple. Went with the grilled catfish filet and it was solid well seasoned, grilled just right, and not overdone. Everything tasted like real home Southern cooking. Nothing fancy, just good food done right.

I love the history of the place and location. While not a reflection of our waiter but for the entire team. Our server was also the bartender across the restaurant. So our service was slow and had to flag others around us for our items (water, silverware, taking an order). As a team, the bartender shouldn't be serving tables especially with a dinner rush. The food came out quick and the chicken was well seasoned. The robots delivering the food was new for me to see. And glad they did or who knows how long it would've taken

Hands down the best soul food I've ever had. I'm here every single time I visit Atlanta. The fried chicken, greens, and mac and cheese is literally chefs kiss. Everything on their menu is amazing, but those are my absolute favorite. The peach cobbler is really good too and I don't like it anywhere else. The space is huge with seating available on two levels. The parking lot I believe you have to pay, but there's ample street parking. The service has only ever been phenomenal, they're polite and fast. This place is historic with so much history and they have photos commemorating it along the wall near the entrance if you're interested in learning about their role during the civil rights movement.

Anytime I'm in Atlanta I have to stop here or catch them in Concourse B at Hartsfield-Jackson Airport. We'll, this time I did both! I started at the restaurant for lunch with friends and family. Jada was our waitress and had a fun vibrant personality! Right off the bat I felt comfortable. My order was 4 fried chicken wings, greens and mac n cheese. To wash all that goodness down I had a sweet tea that was sweet! It was a Monday afternoon so the vibe was very chill. Not many people inside so our order did not take long to come out. We were all satisfied. Per usual, I needed a container to go; we all did! I did manage to finish my mac n cheese. I knew I would finish the rest of my food on the plane back to CA. I did say I stopped at both locations. Just like the restaurant the airport location is just as delicious. With no more mac n cheese I orders rice and gravy to go with the rest of my food. Couldn't wait to finish it all. Unfortunately, I fell asleep and had to finish it the next day. Heated everything in the air fryer and it was even better. This place is a staple in the Atlanta community. If ever in town you should definitely stop by. The picturea of MLK, Jr and others causes you to pause and think back to when times were harder than they are now. Black men and black women stood together to overcome injustices that were out upon us. I will always visit whenever I'm in Atlanta!

Ask the Community - Paschal's Restaurant & Bar

Are reservations required on a Sunday evening or do they also accept walk-ins?

Reservations aren't required but if you can make a reservation your future self will never regret it because what's the worst that can happen...I'll tell you, not making a reservation and then having to wait hours!!!

Is there a cost for parking?

No cost. They do have valet, so a few bucks for the parking attendant would be good.

I also feel like the prices were appropriate for the portion sizes. That was the only positive thing about our visit. Service was EXTREMELY slow, it took 20 minutes for waters. An even longer wait for food followed by another few minutes for hot sauce and lemon slices. For a restaurant with a 2 hour table/validated parking limit I'd expect faster service. Questions about cross contamination with allergens were met with a blank stare and shoulder shrug. The DJ was great but the music was way too loud and made it hard to hear each other. 20% auto grat is included for all checks over $100 according to the menu, but it should say all parties or something similar as it's determined by what the table spends. This was even more annoying considering the lackluster service we received. He did remove the automatic gratuity from my check, but it was only $10 due to a special so I'm sure that was only accommodated since the tip was $2.

Couldn't have been happier with our choice. Reviews I'd seen online mentioned parking is a bit limited and that the restaurant is frequently busy. So we were prepared for that even though we were going on a Thursday mid morning. I think there was an influx of people celebrating graduations because it was in fact very busy. However we got very lucky with parking and happened to come in right as someone was leaving. I was sure we would have a wait for a table, which of course would have been fine, but actually we were seated immediately! Which was super nice and unexpected. The atmosphere is bustling but not in a bad way. The restaurant itself is adorable and has a lot of character. It feels like you're having breakfast at an old friend's house. The service was great and our food came out in a very reasonable amount of time. I ordered a specialty coffee, I believe it was the almond joy cold brew, and it was delicious. Strong, which is how I like it and not overly sweet. I ordered the chicken biscuit on the waiter's recommendation and it was absolutely the best fried chicken I've ever had. Juicy and crispy. My husband ordered the pimento cheese omelette and was very happy with it, the bacon was thick cut and smoky and flavorful. The pimento cheese grits that came on the side for me were also a stand out, such great flavor. The biscuits are fantastic and the blueberry basil jam that came with my husband's meal was such a nice touch. We will absolutely make a point to come back to Buttermilk Kitchen next time we visit the Atlanta area.

First things first: the Chicken Biscuit. Buttermilk Kitchen's biscuit is on the crunchy, honey-flavored side. I personally prefer fluffier, more buttery biscuits, so this one wasn't my favorite. That aside, the chicken was crispy and well-seasoned and paired well with the cheese grits. If you ever wanted a dry, crunchy version of Homegrown's Comfy Chicken Biscuit, come give this a shot. I also tried the Hash Bowl, which was a bit underwhelming. It was a *lot* of potatoes compared to the eggs and bacon bits, and there wasn't a lot of seasoning other than the bacon. Would rather recommend one of the other options if you end up visiting. The drinks are good as well, would recommend the matcha latte (not too sweet!) and the French Press coffee.
