Had a disappointing experience here after looking for a nice spot to enjoy dinner after moving my daughter into her dorm. This restaurant happened to be down the street, and the menu sounded wonderful, so we decided to give it a try. Upon arrival, we paid $5 for valet parking, which was fine. Seating took about 10 minutes, and we were able to appreciate the beauty and history of the building while waiting. We started with appetizers, and our waiter assured us that everything was wonderful. Unfortunately, I didn't have the same experience. The fried green tomatoes had very little flavor outside of the sauce. I also ordered the collard green dip, which was described as having cream cheese as one of the main ingredients. The dip lacked flavor and was honestly not good. We waited at least an hour for our entrees, and when they finally arrived, the food was cold. The items we enjoyed were the candied yams, fried chicken, and catfish. The greens had good flavor but were also served cold. I ordered an extra piece of cornbread that never came out. When I mentioned it to the waiter, she seemed confused. To make matters worse, I was charged $2 for bread that I never ordered. My mom was also charged for a side that she did not order. Unfortunately, our experience wasn't limited to our table. The table next to us had a child who was served a raw chicken tender and was only offered a free dessert as compensation. Overall, the atmosphere and historic building were nice, but the food, service, wait time, and billing issues made for a very disappointing experience. I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Paschal's. I ordered the fried chicken with mac and cheese, collard greens, and cornbread, and every part of the meal missed the mark. The collard greens and mac and cheese were served cold. The fried chicken had an unusual taste that made me question its freshness, and it seemed like it had been cooked in old grease, which affected both the flavor and quality. The cornbread tasted stale like as it had been sitting out for a couple of days, not to mention it wasn't even warmed before being served. Came here on a weekday for the very first time and I made reservations just in case. Luckily it did not get too busy for a weekday during lunch. We also got very lucky to find some free street parking as well within a very short, walking distance of the front door. Do not be deceived as this place is also connected or part of the same building of a hotel. Our service was very nice and friendly and she was so accommodating and helpful and answering questions. She also was quite flexible as far as explaining the side as well as what kind of dark meat pieces you were allowed to get. So that was really helpful. The food came out quickly and freshly cooked. The fried chicken is absolutely juicy and crispy. No complaints whatsoever other than the pieces could've been bigger. however, the side I believe were already premade and sitting out somewhere in the kitchen so they weren't hot and they definitely weren't as fresh. The peach Cabo, which they are also famous for did not disappoint. So glad I ordered it however it is quite small in size. They apparently also had an extra bread pudding that somewhat either forgot or didn't pick up and you'll see that in the box here and we took that to Go. That was quite delicious delectable and and sticky as it should be. This place is definitely an institution in Atlanta and I can understand why. We ordered the fried green tomatoes, blacken salmon with rice and gravy and brussel sprouts, another blackened salmon with fries and brussel sprouts, fried chicken wings with mashed potatoes and gravy and mac and cheese, and fried shrimp with fries and brissel sprouts. Pros We had a party of 8 but they allowed us to split into two tables next to each other with two different servers. The hostess was very friendly and accommodating and well as the servers. However, I did have to tell a server to get our server at one point. Cons The fried green tomatoes are good but the breading is falling apart. My rice and gravy originally came with a hair in it. They replaced it no questions asked. They do not split checks with parties of 6 or more. Not good for big parties. Would I Recommend: Yes. Walked in here on a Saturday afternoon. My ride share driver said this place was good so I decided to try it myself. The restaurant is historic. I was warmly greeted by the receptionist and advised that they did not accept cash at that time. The restaurant is huge and has a second floor. It was a little loud for me at that time; some were celebrating birthday on the upper floor. I was surprised because a robot brought one of my orders. Came here when they opened on a Friday. I believe our servers name is Carly, and she was the best! Very attentive and funny as hell too. We all pretty much ordered the 4 piece wing with sides: Brussels (per Carly's recommendation), Mac, and I added a side of yams. The food was really good. I noticed that my wings were significantly smaller than my mom and sisters, but we shared so it's ok. My dad loved his and my brother got the pasta which he liked also. This was one of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta. During my last visit I had Bang Bang Shrimp. They were delicious. Fried Jumbo Shrimp. Delicious also. Mashed potatoes and gravy. They looked and tasted like they had been sitting in the saucer for hours. Green beans also looked like they were sitting in the saucer for hours and they were soggy and overcooked. I was so disappointed. Not sure when or if I'd be back. I was with a large group and couldn't get the servers attention otherwise I would have returned them. His mac & cheese portion was significantly less than mine and his cornbread muffin was also not the correct portion... Meaning it didn't even feel the cupcake paper wrapper it was so small. It didn't even fill that out and those to me are just small low hanging fruit where the person in the kitchen should've caught that and never served it. my friend was asking why he got less mac & cheese and why his cornbread looked like that... as a person who used to work in the restaurant industry. My first thought was if they're using the same spoon or serving utensil, he should've gotten around the same amount, but it was significantly less in his bowl and the cornbread muffin that he received should've never been served. It should've been thrown out... And he should've gotten a regular size cornbread muffin. I ordered the catfish plate with mac & cheese and yams and I added a side of greens... And my greens also came out cold... So these are the reason I couldn't give it 5 stars... but the taste of the food was amazing... I don't enjoy leaving reviews for Black-owned businesses that are less than three stars, but unfortunately our experience was very disappointing. We visited on Sunday to celebrate my 83-year-old aunt's birthday with a group of about 12 people. We understood that we were a large party, but we expected that there might be additional support to accommodate us. Our food took well over an hour closer to an hour and a half to arrive. When it finally did, it was not hot and was not reflective of the quality and consistency that Paschal's is known for. As longtime supporters, this was especially disheartening. While I could see that our server worked very hard, the overall experience was still less than memorable. Paschal's is a staple in the community, and I've had wonderful service there in the past, which is why I know they are capable of doing better. Came to Paschals Sunday to host my sister's baby shower in the Maynard Jackson private room. Mr. Milton and Darious were our go to people and were incredible! The food was amazing and fresh as always!! I do recommend reservations or private experiences for optimal service. However at some point during the event I left/dropped my wallet. Mr. Milton informed us it would be at the "desk" for pickup. I came back and came to the host stand downstairs and explained the situation and received the WORST service from the young lady at the host stand. She wasn't helpful at all. However one of the wait staff Semaj (Se-ma-Jay) asked if I needed help and immediately found the wallet and was very kind and helpful. Made a 6 pm reservation at Paschal's, hoping to grab a nice meal before going to a concert at Lakewood Amphitheatre. We arrived 5 minutes early, paid for valet parking. Went in, dining room looked about half full. Host confirmed our reservation and told us it would be 5 minutes. Many walk ins waiting but we were guaranteed first table. Noticed many seated tables had menus and no drinks, no service. The busiest staff member was literally a robot. We waited 30 minutes with a couple updates but no one was seated during this time. Many tables still have not been served. We decided to leave and go to the Burger King across the street because kids were starving and we didn't want to be late for our show. Terrible service and we were out $6 for the valet. Be warned that Paschal's seems to have major staffing issues. Would not recommend even though past experiences were good. read more

We waited about 5mins to be seated. The booth we were in could use some attention since the wood on the table was scraped up & the leather on the seats were picked off. Greeted by our wonderful waitress & asked what we would like to drink. We knew fairly quickly what we wanted for our entrees since we looked up the menu ahead of time. The food is served quickly. The space is very well put together there's no doubt about it. It takes an industrial hippie vibe and makes it local and welcoming. The service is a lot of that and way. Very helpful and considering all the things. Minor hiccups I won't hold against them as my waiter was new. But the main event was the food. Firstly I will be coming back. But for me it was my husbands jumbo shrimp. Just battered really well. Seasoned so on point. Made me excited for the chicken. Which bizarrely not as much fun for me. The peach cobbler and bread pudding were failures. The cobbler was very gelatinous and the crust was mushy. The bread pudding was large, however the bread was a bit more than day-old. On a quick trip to Atlanta I was so happy our friend made us reservations for Sunday brunch. We opted to order from the menu rather than the buffet ($45 per adult), since we weren't hungry enough to make it worth it. We did make our own version of a buffet though... ordering apps and meals to share. We loved the greens dip (might not be what it was called) and the fried green tomatoes!
