Great service, amazing food and awesome atmosphere. And prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend.

While driving to Rehoboth Beach, we spotted this hidden gem on the side of the road. I immediately looked it up to check the reviews, and it passed the star test, so we decided to stop in. After reviewing the menu online, we noticed they offered fried fish, but unfortunately, that item isn't available until lunch. By the time we arrived, they were running low on most breakfast items. I chose a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich, while my spouse ordered French toast and eggs. The diner has a welcoming atmosphere and seems to be quite popular with the locals. If I'm in the area during lunchtime again, I would definitely stop by to try some of the amazing-looking desserts that I missed this time.

Fried chicken, sweet potato souflee, fried cabbage. It was all good but that cabbage was my favorite side dish from this meal.

I stopped by with a friend on the way home from Rehoboth Beach (it's about 12 minutes from route 1 and added maybe 20 mins total to our trip home). We ordered all of our food to-go. Everyone was friendly and the employee at the takeout counter was patient with us and filled our order with complete accuracy. It took 25 minutes and the owner came to speak to us while we were waiting. Very kind gentleman and very proud of his restaurant... as he should be, this food was very good! I ordered chicken and dumplings, fried chicken, fried cabbage, limas with dumplings, mashed potatoes, and sweet potato souflee. I also ordered banana walnut cake, an apple dumpling, and coconut cake for dessert. My entrees came with homemade yeast rolls. The food tastes like somebody's southern granny is back there cooking from scratch! My favorites were the dumplings, fried cabbage, and limas and dumplings. The banana walnut cake was also insanely good. There wasn't a bad thing on my plate and I'll absolutely be back, even though I have to go out of my way to get there. I look forward to trying their breakfast in the future. They do catering and I'm hoping to get some desserts and sides from them for Thanksgiving this year. Their menu is reminiscent of an old favorite that is no longer around (Jimmy's). The restaurant is small, clean, and has seating for maybe 30 people.

This place always hits. The food is so good and that's what keeps us coming back. But the service could improve. Service can be slow, and some waiters aren't friendly and/or impatient. Always the flies. There are soooo many flies in the doorway leading into the restaurant as well as the restaurant itself. But...the food is good! So do with that as you will.

Wow! Be prepared to leave with a full stomach and the best hospitality. The owner is beyond welcoming and makes the restaurant atmosphere feel as if you were at home. No matter what you order, you will not be disappointed. Be sure to make room for their amazing desserts... especially the banana walnut cake ;)

Menus listed didn't reflect the dramatic price change. The $5.25 plated might reach 7 bucks. I was prepared to pay double....

Simple, tasty, fast and clean. Coffee wasn't anything special, nothing to complain about. Stoneware platters & mugs. Open format dining area, light beadboard wainscot. Unfortunately we were headed down the road, and didn't take time or make room for pie, cake, or everything that looked SO impressive in the cold case.

Don't let the hole in a wall exterior steer you away. This place is so cute! It was clean and open. The decor was very tasteful, with great character. The food was excellent. Our breakfast was very affordable and everyone was happy with their dish. My scrapple was crispy on the outside and soft in the middle, perfect. The service was quick and friendly.

The cashier seemed a little frustrated, though it looked more like the stress of a long day than poor customer service. I placed a to go order, left a tip, and waited outside. My food was ready in about 20 to 25 minutes. I ordered the blackened scallops and the crawfish étouffée. The scallops were $13 and the portion was much smaller than I expected. More concerning, they had a strong ammonia smell and taste, which is a common sign of spoiled seafood. I ended up throwing them away. The crawfish étouffée looked promising at first. The roux had good color and a nice thick consistency. Unfortunately, after a few bites, I noticed the same ammonia taste in the crawfish. (Portion for this was a good amount) seems wasteful due to the ammonia taste. It is a shame because I wanted to like this place, and the étouffée showed some potential. Based on my experience, the quality of the seafood was a serious issue and made the meal disappointing. I hope the restaurant addresses its seafood handling and freshness.

I'm so happy I did because if I could describe the overall taste and quality, it's "the cousin who cooks family dinner with the flavor of our Auntie's, but the technique and health-consciousness of a well trained chef" kind of deal lol. Everything was so delicious! I had the green beans , mashed potato, candied yams, and jerk lamb meatloaf. So you're aware, the food is made to order so it's perfect when you're planning ahead for lunch or dinner. They also deliver! (Ask for details dep. on your area). The chef was so, so nice! It's an honor to support her business! All of the vegetables tasted like they were farm-fresh--nothing was frozen! The green beans were expertly cooked with fresh tomatoes, mushrooms, and onions. The best green beans ever! I would love to get these again! The mashed potatoes were so creamy and the yams were nice and sweet, but not too, too sweet. They were perfectly balanced and had the best texture! The meatloaf was made with all of the love in the world! Now, since it has lamb, the flavor is very, very prominent. I'm not really a big meat person but this was a cool touch, and I'll try anything once! If you're a huge fan of lamb, I recommend it. I loved how there was gravy at the bottom and the traditional tomato based topping on top! I shared with my brother when he came to visit, he tore it all up! Lol. I would definitely order from Auntie's again. I saw that a friend follows the chef on social media and she absolutely loves Auntie's, too! Shame on me for putting this delicious food on a paper plate, but last night I had come home from dance class and had to eat immediately lol.

It was some of THEE BEST soul food I have had in a long time. Too bad I forgot to take pics of the food. I ordered fried Cajun catfish, potato salad and collard greens. The Cajun catfish and potato salad are to die for, you hear me???? The collard greens were okay but were not seasoned the way I would have liked. Also, they don't serve bread with their meals. Would have loved a piece of white bread or cornbread. My 14 year old granddaughter ordered fried chicken wings and was sucking the bones. She also ordered the Mac n Cheese which she said was to die for! She, too, felt the collard greens were okay but nothing to write home about. Neither of us ate our greens. We wanted to order sweet iced tea which is usually a staple in most soul food restaurants but at 2:30pm they had already run out. Also, we wanted to eat in the dining room but they said the dining room closes at 2:00pm :-( so we got our food to go and ate in the car. Mind you, it was about 90 degrees outside but we turned the air conditioning on in the car and enjoyed our lunch. Too bad I discovered this place on the day before I left the conference because otherwise I would have been eating here everyday of the conference.
