I expected more. Haded i walked a half mile to dine here. Service was good. Will invest my time elsewhere in future.

This place has good reviews and I don't know why. First time trying them since they moved. The egg drop soup was good. Egg rolls weren't even as good as frozen ones. Fried dumplings were awful. Rice was overcooked. Sweet and sour sauce was watery. I've never felt like I wasted money on Chinese food until tonight. Staff was extremely nice though.

Finally! After a couple of months of trying different Chinese restaurants I've found the best and it's Southern Palace! The Chicken Lo Mein is awesome. The portions are large and I always have leftovers.

    So tasty

This place has the very best fresh tasting Chinese food in Statesboro. I love they now have a drive thru pickup and frequent them often.

Food was bland and very dry. I got orange chicken and fried rice so not very complicated. Wasn't horrible but I expected it to be better.

Try the crispy fish or the Phoenix and dragon shrimp. Very tasty slightly spicy and nice big shrimp.

Very average food. Chicken was almost slimy, food had little flavor. Friendly quick service, empty restaurant. Won't be going back.

We promptly got sat by the lovely staff working. We sat outside, I ordered an Aperol spritz and my husband got a Bloody Mary. All of our drinks were delicious, reasonably priced. The Bloody Mary wasn't spicy (although a table next to us was complaining it was...), and the Hugo spritz was SO refreshing! They for the fresh mint from their herbs out front! Only complaint was we prefer our espresso martinis to be mostly espresso heavy, and this one was more cream heavy. We ordered the Brussels, country breakfast (subbed cheese grits instead of pancakes because we're gluten free) and got a side of fresh fruit. It was so much food. We didn't finish it all! The grits were nicely seasoned and cheesy. Brussels were super crispy and not drenched in grease or sauce. Eggs were nice and salty, potatoes were fried nicely. Everything was great. We would love to come back for lunch or dinner - especially happy hour. It wasn't too loud and we felt there was plenty of seating.

This is the best restaurant I've been to in Statesboro yet. Here's what my wife and I had: * Mixed Chicken and Steak Lunch Fajitas Over Rice ($11.25) - cooked with bell peppers, onions, and tomatoes, and topped with cheese dip * Lunch Combo Special No. 1 ($9.25) - one chile relleno, one taco, beans and guacamole salad * Guacamole Dip - Small ($4.65) Everything was delicious. This is your standard Americanized Mexican restaurant, complete with complimentary chips and salsa (side note: the chips here are of the thicker, harder, and crunchier variety). I would say this place does the Americanized Mexican restaurant concept well and operates like a well-oiled machine (in business since 1989). Our entrees came out fresh and tasty, but the Guacamole Dip was a bit underwhelming. It looked and tasted like it had been sitting out a while. It was discolored whereas the guac that came with the lunch combo was fresh and vibrant. Service was good. We visited on a Friday for lunch and it was nice and busy, though not absolutely packed. Lots of families. This location on Buckhead Drive is the third and newest of the three "El Som" locations in Statesboro, having opened in 2008. It's relatively nice and known as the "Palace." The original location opened on Fair Road in 1989 and the second location opened in the Publix shopping center on Northside Drive circa 1993-1994.
