They were able to make the chilaquiles dairy free for me though. I'd love to go back and try their granola. It looked really good. And, they said they had milk alternatives for drinks, though I stuck with water. The atmosphere was fun and relaxed. The staff were very friendly and helpful and even though they said the pancake takes 20 minutes to cook, it felt like it came much quicker than that. It was a nice place to catch up with a friend. The hard chairs are not the most comfortable for long drawn out conversations. You might pay attention to what is above you when you sit down. We found this place on yelp and decided to check it out. It's simply incredible. I tried the Tostada with Carnitas, add avocado; it had wonderful layers of flavor and maintained an authentic taste. Great hidden gem in the middle of a not so busy shopping center. The food here is REALLY good, service awesome and their menu just offers a little bit of everything. We ordered a Cuban sandwich, tortilla soup, biscuit with jam, a protein bowl, and pancake. Note: their version of pancakes is not like your normal stacked pancakes. Like so many others, I have been craving something-- anything new. With staying home so much, we have been eating at the same local places all the time. Nothing against my local haunts, but we really needed to get out of dodge for a few days. Five hours in the car later, we are here in Napa. The unsung hero that does all that it can to provide us with some semblance of security in the "unprecedented times." My English teacher would tell me that this expression is overused and cliche, but what else can you say about the current insanity? Anyways, the food. Get to the happy! The chips were baked in flavor. It was like every inch had been coated in red sauce, but somehow re-crisped and baked so that they could hold up to dipping in the other toppings. There was a black bean purée deep down in the takeout box just waiting to be discovered. The cotija cheese added the slightest little bit of tang to cut the sweetness of the poached egg dripping down on your chips, but failing in delicious misery. It was pretty darn good. I'd be back. My hubby had the biscuits and gravy, and while he said it was an interesting take on the dish, I could tell that he secretly coveted my breakfast.
