Great Family owned Restaurant! The best meal we have had in a restaurant in a very long time. Everything was delicious! Tummy was stuffed and had to try the delicious looking desserts! Great local family-owned restaurant. We decided to try this place out based off of the yelp reviews and it did not disappoint. They have a secret "special" bake potato that is wonderful. You will end up eating the entire thing, including the skin, no joke! I had a burger with the potato and it was great as well! Another person I was with had the cheeseburger quesadilla and they said it was excellent as well. I will definitely go back and try something else, the next time I am in the area. read more

I can't comment on the food, but my wife and I stood around waiting for someone to take our name for a table, nothing not even an acknowledgement for 15 min, while walking past us several times. Only thing we did hear was "Is it 9:00 yet. There was nobody else waiting all this time. Oh well just disappointed. read more

We ordered pickup because of Covid and were so pleasantly surprised. Most of the time you take a chance that the food won't translate well for takeout. We ordered a large assortment of food and everything was absolutely incredible. You can tell everything is homemade. The crab cakes are delicious and flavorful and the closest we had to tasting like they are from Maryland. We ordered one of each of the four desserts -- standouts were the coconut cream pie and the caramel apple cheesecake. We can vouch you also won't be disappointed by the hand battered and fried pickles and the quesadillas. Can't wait to visit this place on future beach trips! read more

We decided to go here based on a recommendation from a friend. We were all (4) pleased with the choice. We started with appetizers, crab cake, pierogies, and fried mushrooms. All of these were delicious. We went with the grilled grouper mango entrée which was very good. It came with a "crusted" baked potato and green beans. The potato was different, but good. Green beans were OK (canned, I think) they weren't the focus of the meal. Rarely do we ever get dessert while out, but we decided to try the carrot cake and banana cream pie. Both were very good also. The servers were all friendly and prompt. Food was very reasonably priced. We were the first party to arrive when they opened, but the tables were all full by the time we checked out. Very popular place. read more

As a local in Market Commons I always try to find Mom and Pop places rather than chain restaurants. I had wanted to try this for a while and the timing worked perfect for my wife and I. This place does not disappoint. I did the ribeye and the crab stuffed mushrooms (those are $$) the steak was hand cut and perfectly cut. My wife opted for fried mushrooms and a patty melt and thoroughly enjoyed. Saturday evening they have a free chocolate chip cookie. If you are a Stiller fan then you will love the art on the walls all about Pittsburgh sports. read more

This place looks like a little hole in the wall in the best way! The food is well worth the visit. The salad was fresh and the dressing was good! I got the fisherman's platter which had grilled grouper (you had a choice between grilled and fried), a crab cake and shrimp. This place is amazing! Look, as I've grown more savvy with Yelp, I've become much more selective with my 5 star ratings. So when I rate this place 5 stars, trust me, it is worth that and more. We were at MB for NYE weekend, and were debating what to eat. We typically do the generic seafood buffet, but I was in the mood for some really good seafood, so we consulted the reviews on Yelp and decided on Southside Grill. The place was small and quaint, but do not let looks deceive you. The food is phenomenal! I had the crab cakes, and as someone that lived in MD for 4 years, take me seriously when I say that they are the best I have ever had. Almost no breading, and with a very succulent sauce drizzled on top, they were out of this world. My wife had a filet mignon and it was cooked to perfection. My MIL had the broiled shrimp and they were very good as well, fresh and a great seasoning. Our two girls had kids burgers, and they were adult sized, fresh ground beef nothing frozen. Now let me tell you about the baked potatoes. They deep fry them with a breading that is very familiar, but none of us could quite make it out. Maybe onion ring breading? Not sure and they would not tell us LOL, they said it was a secret. You can basically devour the whole baked potato, it is so good. Lastly, the service was exceptional. It was a local place and we were obviously tourists but they made us feel right at home. They brought us an extra helping of clam chowder (which I forgot to mention, was excellent) and they took great care of us. We visit MB 1-2 times per year, and let me tell you, no more overpriced, cheesy seafood buffets for us. This will be the main meal of our trips from now on! read more

Its a very small place, with a very friendly, hometown feel. There are good sized portions, and we all left very full and satisfied. The baked potatoes are delicious, as are the chicken and crab cake sandwiches. The shrimp are plump and came lightly breaded. The owner is an extremely friendly and welcoming person. He thanked us for waiting for a table, checked on us while we ate, and even came into the parking lot to wish us a safe trip. The entire staff was gracious and caring. Its not a common thing you see anymore. We were treated like old friends. The place itself could use some straightening up. Packages of this and that can be seen from the dining area. If anything, its to big for its space. Some reorganizing and careful concealment of items would do wonders. The mens room needs a remodel. These few things are why its not 5 stars. We will be back, and intend to enjoy this atmosphere again. read more

I was a little skeptical about this place as walked up. The front facade is misleading... walking in I was surprised to find a small dining area with only 10 or so tables... All my skepticism quickly faded away as I was greeted by the friendly staff and owners, along with the tables around me... while this was my first visit to this restaurant I felt as though I was sitting down with a group of friends. One of today's specials was fried flounder, which I what I got. Hands down, no exaggeration and no lie, this was the best fried flounder I've ever had the pleasure of eating, it was melt in your mouth perfect, moist, but not so much as to seem raw, hint of butter and salt drizzled by myself with fresh lemon. Awe man sitting here writing this review I just want more! While this was my first visit, it definitely won't be my last, this is a place I am sure to visit each time I come to myrtle beach. Wonderful dinner at a family owned restaurant- Dad is the cook while Mom and the daughters serve. The best crab cakes I've ever had, my husband had a great ribeye steak. Don't leave without trying their homemade desserts- YUM. Carrot cake and lemon cheesecake were delicious. Without Yelp we never would have noticed the restaurant, it is tucked into a shopping center but we loved it! The owners even gave the kids a ring pop before leaving. Great find!! read more

My friend and I were on vacation last month and decided to look for someplace new to try for dinner. After looking up different places we decided to give Southside Grill a try. We were not disappointed! It's a small family run business but the food and atmosphere were great! They had the best potato skins i've ever had. They're burgers are 3/4 pounds which left me full for a day and a half, not that I'm complaining. The decor inside is Pittsburg sports, mostly Penguins and Steelers, but being from the eastern side of Pa we had no problem with it. Will for sure be going back again next year!!! read more

Great food. Great service, although it took a little while to be greeted when we arrived. BYOB. Bring a cooler if you want. I had the flounder fish fry--beautiful and crisp on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. The burgers were amazing too. My wife had the burger with crab meat and Swiss and was raving about it. Great desserts, too. Unfortunately, the table next to us had ordered the last piece of chocolate pecan pie. Bastards.
