We had a wonderful time last night at the Polynesian Lua Dinner Show. First the people who are…read morepart of this show handled pretty much everything from greeting you, seating you and doing the show. Before they seat you they take a picture of your party which you can purchase at the end of the show. I will start with the buffet they offered a pineapple chicken dish thats was a spicy but not where you needed to drink milk . It was really delicious. I also had the white rice which they seasoned and I enjoyed that too. They also offered a Tilapia Dish and pulled pork dish. My husband had that and he enjoyed it too. There was also curly fries and a salad offering too. The desserts where ok - they were individual cakes slices a few varieties that they offered up in pretty round holders, they were definitely store bought. They were good but not exceptional. The Buffet is all you can eat. They offer Iced Tea and Water with buffet. All other drinks you have to pay for. The Show itself was Amazing. Watching how they interacted with each other was really enjoyable. You could feel the camaraderie among them. The Dancers were Amazing and Graceful. Wish I could move like that. I definitely would recommend if your on Vacation or Live here its a experience you shouldn't miss. I have posted some pictures for you to view.

So for the longest time, my…read morefolks had wanted to bring me to the Polynesian Fire show at one of the nearby hotels and to be honest I don't think that they had ever done this themselves in the years that they had been there. My folks are not the photo takers that I am so if they did this and I didn't recall the mention, there is no photo evidence to the matter so here we go. Presented at the St. John's Inn, the event takes over what appeared to be the entire inside event space. Once the line moved the crowd inside we were greeted by staff in traditional garb and handed leis. Another person played a ukelele to welcome everyone and it set the mood. Inside were all the tables, the stage of course and a small gift shop with items that had an island flare along with a pay per drink bar. The food was set up as a buffet and there was some pork, a fish dish, chicken along with a couple of vegetables and some rice. Some have balked about this being all that was set up to eat but I was actually okay with it. I admit that I thought there would be more along the lines of seafood but I am fussy about that stuff for the most part. The emcee/host was also a part of the musical group that performed a few radio hits with an island flair and I got a kick out of this and then it was time for all of the island presentations. It's difficult to describe it all but there was lots of hula being done by lovely dancers, along with a menacing Haka dance. Then a pause in the night happened while a protective netting was set up between the stage and the patrons and this was done to prevent any accidents with the batons and assorted other items that were used during the fire performance. This was a super exciting part of the night and I give credit the performers for their skills and amazing display. My high rating was mainly because I had a really fun time and had never been to anything like this before in my life. If you're visiting Myrtle Beach and can secure a spot at this show its a worthwhile event. I was able to be sitting closer to the stage which made it all the more thrilling. Thanks for reading.

Just grab a few while you wait for your food... It was a pleasure coming here. I spoke with the owners and really enjoyed the conversation. Service was excellent just like the food. The Korean Fried Chicken with the spicy gochujang sauce (not really spicy but very flavorful) is awesome! I had it with a bowl of white rice. As a courtesy the owners let us sample some kimchi. The mild version. I guess they thought we couldn't handle the spice. They didn't know that I'm a SPICEmatician! Bring it on... I found out that they serve pork belly. Was craving some for over a month now. Will have to come back for that. Pause from reading this and set your GPS to this location to grab a bite to eat. Let them put a little spice and flavor in your life. You certainly won't be disappointed. Great food, great service, and a great atmosphere... Try something different. I will say, the bibimbap is quite good and I was not disappointed in the flavor or quality of that dish, but my husband's pork katsu was so small and absent of meat that it looked like fried pork skin. See photo attached. I was drawn to Mura because I love Korean food, but also because of the conveyor belt. There were NO fresh foods on the conveyor belt....only a few prepackaged cookies or desserts. Super sad. The server was also extremely curt with us on both visits. My husband visited with me once and a friend the second time, both commenting on how little hospitality he showed. The environment is definitely not a bring your friends and chat place. There are only bar seats in front of the conveyor belt......with nothing on it. The final piece I'll add is the price for what you get is unreasonable. And I believe I may have been charged the wrong thing? I just left it alone, but it definitely was confusing. I ordered the stone bowl bibimbap which noted 12 plus 6 dollars for a fried egg. I assumed my total was 18 and it came to 22. No where on the menu does it differentiate between stone bowl and whatever the other cheaper option was. Not the biggest issue; if the food and service had been different I'd probably not have thought so much about it. When I brought up the difference to the server, he continued with his curt approach. The bibimbap was good, like I mentioned, but I'd just order it to go if I wanted it.

I didn't dine in this time, I ordered my meal to-go but I still got a good feel for the space. I ordered spring rolls and shrimp and scallop hibachi. The veggies was definitely the highlight of the meal. The seafood was cooked nicely, but it was the fresh, crisp veggies that really stood out and gave the dish its balance. The portions were generous, big enough that you're not leaving hungry, and maybe even with leftovers for later. The spring rolls missed the mark for me. They lacked the veggie crunch I was hoping for and didn't have that crispy, golden snap that makes spring rolls irresistible. Instead, they leaned a bit on the soggy side, which left me wanting more texture and flavor balance. Overall, Hawaii Steak & Seafood House is one of those spots where you'll walk out full and satisfied portion-wise. The hibachi veggies shined, but a few other items could use a little fine-tuning. Clean space, big plates, and a meal that's worth a try if you're in the area.

Has a great evening out vibe but not in the stuffy or uptight way. Staff and servers were friendly, professional and handling the busy crowd well. We were served waters right away and a drink order was taken, then the beautiful bread basket was delivered and it had an assortment of carrots and celery plus, a crunchy flatbread cracker, buttery cheese biscuit, yeast roll, and a rustic sourdough roll (I'm guessing on these, but we ate them all!). For our meal we settled on the pork schnitzel with kale, brussels, and roasted potatoes and the scallops with butternut squash risotto. The schnitzels was lovely with its crispy breading, a creamy mushroom "gravy" and an onion sauce for the potatoes and veggies that was rich and flavorful. The brussels were caramelized and paired perfectly with creamy elements. The sautéed onions pulled the potatoes and kale in and it was just a great plate of food. Elevated comfort, Scallops were cooked perfectly and were tender with a nice "crust" and the risotto had chunks of pork belly and butternut squash for a salty/sweet balance. Sadly we didn't get dessert because we were headed to a party but we will be back to try the short rib and bread pudding!
