Unfortunately once anyone calls your business we suddenly find an even deeper low. Deangela is the most unpleasant human being I've ever encountered. It's a shame you have someone so lacking in customer service/simple people skills as your receptionist. I had no idea where my car was or what information I would need to provide in order to get it back. These simple questions apparently set D over the edge. Our conversation ended with D telling me to have a F**king great day and hanging up on me. My mom then called in hopes of a fresh start to finding my car and was also yelled at and and hung up on. My car was towed, which is whatever. I am out of town so my little brother went and picked up the car, well tried to at least. The workers stated that all I needed to do was write down on a piece on paper that I release the car to him, and send a photo of my license, which I did. I was then met with hostility and genuinely rude and disgusting people. They would not release the car once they got what they asked for, then they all of a sudden came up with something else that I had to provide and it was a never ending cycle. They would not accept anything I gave them (even though it's what they asked for and explained to them we're out of town and did exactly what they said). We were not allowed to speak on the phone due to the woman screaming at us and not letting us say one word. Many phone calls later and getting hung up on multiple times and screamed at, we were finally able to just bring the title in and pick the car up. The car had damage in multiple places, such as the front bumper hanging, scraping underneath the car, and the side skirt has been broken and on top of that, a flat tire. It makes a lot of sense now that they didn't want to release the car, they damaged it and do not want to take responsibility. I have never seen or dealt with such vile, careless, and disrespectful people in my life. read more

I'd like to say I'm a stranger to tow yards. Not the case. South Side was an excellent experience.... even if it's a crap situation. My car was towed because I forgot to call it in to security. They were fast and professional in the office. I was treated like a criminal at another tow yard when I recovered my car after it was stolen and totalled, so being treated like I mattered was nice. There wasn't any damage to my car. While I will never believe towing prices are justified, they didn't hit me anywhere near as hard as other places have. Toxic employees deserve less than minimum wage. Will also be trying to reach out to the owner of the company and hopefully she gets fired. I called to get information on a vehicle that was towed by them after an accident. I asked the manager if the car is not picked up how much based on her experience does it usually come out to be she repeated to tell me to calculate it myself and couldn't give me a straight answer. Instead of giving me the runaround she could've easily said that she just didn't know and then found out for me. By far the weakest customer service I've experienced fortunately for her I'm not the one. This place needs to either be closed down or sued. My boyfriend parked in red for easy access for me to get in the car. I'm 9 months pregnant, and having contractions. Car was there for about 45 minutes to a hour while we were getting everything ready to go to the hospital. They towed our car at the apartment complex and I had to call my mom to take me and my dad to take my boyfriend to get the car. This place did NOT have the car for a full 2 HOURS. They charged us $438. The light duty fee on the sign said 215-250 and after hours charge is $100. They completely scammed my bf knowing dam well he needed the car ASAP as I'm in active labor. My bf told him the price is different and the crack head looking guy working tonight said he's going by what's on the computer and doesn't matter if the sign has been updated or not. That's BULLSHIT. Completely took advantage and came up with some lame excuse saying it's cause they are closed on saturdays. Which is also bullshit because this same company towed my mom on a Saturday 3am and she picked up that same Saturday around 2-3pm and was charged LESS. I'm gonna fight this and encourage everyone else who encounters this company to know your laws and fight it too as what they are doing is 100% illegal. read more

Southside Towing towed our Jeep to their yard after we had been in a serious accident. The driver was so calm and helpful to us. He helped my husband retrieve our belongings from the vehicle and took the time to ask that everyone was indeed ok. My husband returned to the yard a couple days later to sign the car over for salvage. David was a tremendous help to him. We are still having issues with our insurance company and he is once again helping us. Thank you David and Southside for your amazing customer service. read more

I am not reporting a bad review because I was towed, it was my fault I was towed and I understand the process, respect their job, and I paid my fee. I was able to contact the company the night I was towed and they were helpful in letting me know the fees, and I was able pick up my car in a decent amount of time the next morning. However, after leaving the lot we quickly realized our parking permit was missing from the car. I called back to report it missing and asked if I could leave my number in case they found the permit (I have to pay a fine for a new permit and am hoping I don't have to spend more money than I already have), and the woman who answered said it would be no help to leave my number because it was not there and they were not responsible. She then hung up on me. I called back because that was very unsettling, and the woman stated she was done talking with me and hung up on me again. When I called back to speak to a manager, or the person who operated the business, so that we could settle things, she said she would take my number but they wouldn't call me back. I KNOW that I was in the wrong and that's why my car was towed. However, when I am respectfully and calmly speaking to an employee to ask about missing items, I should not be treated this way. No one should be treated this way, no matter how busy the business is that day. There isn't an excuse. I was flabbergasted by the way this person seems to treat others. It was absolutely shocking. I encourage individuals, apartment complexes, and companies to not employ these towing services if they treat customers with such utter disrespect. The only reason I am leaving a yelp is because whoever answered the phones said there was no other number to contact the owners of the business. I think we can ALL agree it's always a terrible situation when your car gets towed. My girlfriend rents a parking space in her apartment complex in Fullerton at a monthly fee and I stay over often; I know the rules. I was at her apartment overnight and forgot to put the parking sticker on my window - first time ever! Well, security had my car towed over night. I woke up at 5:00am to no car. We called Southside Towing and they confirmed my car was with them, in Orange. I was pretty upset because I'm a college student and can't afford a large tow bill. Robert was helping me out through the process and recognized that I was pretty enraged about the incident. He logically explained what the fees were for in a very polite manner and never had an attitude with me despite mine. I'm sure I speak for everybody when I say I think we would all like to give tow truck companies a bad review, but they really are just doing their job. I messed up and was lucky enough to get a tow from Southside Towing because the whole process was done and over within 20-minutes and I was able to make it to work on time. 5 stars for a great customer experience despite a terrible situation. I am not one to leave reviews, and this is actually my first one. I have had my car towed in the past, and I know what it's like to get poor service from some unprofessional company, and or a driver who doesn't know what he's doing and winds up damaging your car. Harry took good care of me and my truck. He was professional, friendly, and just a great person to deal with. I had my truck towed last night, I was dropping off a coworker after work, and I was gone for about 10-15 minutes, by the time I got back, my truck was gone, I then realize that the sign that read "Customer Parking Only" that I had parked by, was illegible, so I had to go try and find a different sign so I could get the number from the sign to call, and even those had spray paint covering parts of them, I had left everything in my truck because I knew I would not be long, So I was stranded and had to walk to the towing yard, and when I get there, there is no one to release my truck, so I had to wait id say over an hour for someone to finally come and release my truck, the guy that came and finally took care of it, as i was signing the documents, he said there was a "gate fee" that was over $100, if I would have known sooner, I would have come back another time, after being rude to me, and saying that I had lied to him about my name being on the registration and Insurance (Which he obviously didnt know where to look on the documents) And then on top of it all, he charged my a storage fee, really? $60 for an hour? I don't even know the name of the guy, all he put on the documents was "JS" The total was $367.50 I'm a student going to college full-time, there went 2 weeks of my pay, this was an absurd amount to pay to get my truck back. read more

My car was towed from my apartment complex after 20 minutes of parking in a "future resident only" spot. Sure, I shouldn't have parked there. But where I live, there's nowhere else to park. I see people park there for days at a time, so I figured I was clear. Nope. These guys cruise the streets looking for people to tow, which is totally illegal by the way. I was parked for 20 min with a handicap placard visible in the guest parking and David had gotten it hooked up and towed within ten minutes and when I confronted him he basically said f*#! Off. Said he didn't see the handicap sign that was sitting right there. Lied straight to my face. Then told me Its be $300 bucks in the morning. For keeping it 5 hrs. These guys are crooks. Had to make a yelp account to shower praise on this company. Car died and needed a tow just down the street to the shop. Called about 5 towing places this morning, all of their quotes over the $140 range. Finally called Southside Towing and was pleasantly surprised by both their affordable rates and demeanor. They let me know the truck would be by within the hour. Eddie arrived within 15 minutes. He was cool, easy going, and got my car handled at breakneck speed. My issue and warning to everyone reading this post is for the woman in the front who you do the paperwork with. Here's a little story... I arrive at lunch time so I had to wait. Totally not an issue as I was the one who got towed. When she finally came to the window, mind you I haven't had my car towed before this is the first, I put my Drivers license in the drawer and again she hasn't said a word to me just sitting there staring. So I put in my ID and in her disgusting tone says "what car are you here for." Side not : If you would have had any customer service you should have said hello maybe how's your day going or even a simple how can I help you today. Instead I got a demeaning short phrase. I'm already having a tough day. CLEARLY. Now would it damage you to simply do your job with excellence as the men in the back definitely did show understanding. If the men and woman were two separate entities I would give back of house 12/10 stars and front of house 0/20 stars. I'm not here to just complain. This morning Southside Towing company hitched my car at an apartment complex, I was able to catch the driver taking my car, and I waived, ran and turned on the panic alarm on my car for him to stop, but he didn't. I ran half a block after him. According to the law he was suppose to stop and I would have had to pay half of their towing fees, but in order for them to make more money, the driver didn't stop. I went to their towing yard, spoke to a manager, but she didn't care, you can tell she had attitude. read more

First time the driver lied to me about how long he waited for me to show up; the paperwork and security cameras show different times; the staff when I went to collect my car was unprofessional and confrontational. The property owners had called and had my car impounded... kinda sucked but called these guys and realized it had been towed, the lady on the phone told me I needed to go to the PD to get a release and then come pick up my car.
